The food was excellent and more than plenty. All for £16 per head is amazing. Bottled beer was Tsing Tao (?) at only £2.50. We will be there next CHristmas definitely.

The beauty of this place is as well as eating in you can take away, I think that must be where they get a great deal of their business from. As far as I know this is the only Cantonese restaurant in Middlesbrough, personally I found the food to be amazing and since then I have eaten in several other Cantonese restaurants. When we eat there the restaurant was fairly quiet but it was early in the evening, my favourite dish without a doubt was the crispy duck, I have never tasted duck that was this nice. Everyone I have spoken to raves about this place, I have never heard any bad reviews, quite the opposite everyone claims it is the best off they have ever tasted. This is perhaps why their takeaway option is so popular. Price wise I found it to be quite reasonable for the quality of food. The staff were very polite and accommodating, I would definitely recommend anyone that has not eaten here to give it a go.

My husband and I dined at Happy Valley a couple of years back on New Year's Day. My husband had…read moredined at the restaurant a couple of times himself and couldn't speak highly enough of the place. However I myself was not impressed at all with my meal. I am a vegetarian and have found that most Chinese restaurants and takeaways do cater for vegetarians, however this wasn't the case at Happy Valley. My starter of crispy seaweed was very nice, but my main course of Singapore noodles most definitely was not! Because they didn't have any specific veggie options, this was basically a meat dish without the meat. It did not taste good! It was so hot and spicy that I must have gone through about a litre of water just to wash it down! I was that put off I didn't even attempt a pudding! However I must say that my husband really did enjoy his meal. The service was very polite and prompt, though this may have something to do with the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant! i also find the food very over-priced for what it was, and we have had much better and cheaper Chinese food elsewhere. All in all I would not recommend this restaurant, especially if you are vegetarian, as you may well be disappointed!

Recently refurbished to a high standard, unfortunately the food wasn't. A starter of king prawns in…read moregarlic and spicy salt proved to be just far too salty, although it was a decent enough platter to be a meal on it's own. The honey coated spare ribs faired much better. However, the meal did not do any favours with greasy chow mein, cold, yes, COLD, crispy fried duck and rubbery (not lovely) squid. A long wait during a quiet service for our mains did not make us appreciate the whole evening any better. Coming in just shy of £40 for 2 without any alcohol, we was robbed. Overall, 3/10 (and that's just for the decour)
