Ordering and picking up Chinese food is normally a pretty standard procedure and we tend to stick to the same old places all the time. This is all fine because when we find one we like we know that it's going to be good. I like changing it up sometimes and this has become quite easy because it seems that any where you go in Brisbane there will be at least 3 Chinese take away restaurants in a 5 kilometer vicinity. I like testing them all out because something that's always in the back of my mind is that u can't make a judgment as to which one is the best until you try them all.
I ordered the usual chicken and sweet corn soup, spring rolls, and black pepper beef over the phone. It was a short walk to go pick it up but I was quite surprised at how old the place looked and realized that even if I wanted to eat there I couldn't due to the lack of seating. The service was good and a friendly old Chinese lady handed me the food. I must say that out of the 2 within walking distance Pekin was the best. It's been around for 10 years ive since found out so they are defiantly doing something right. The price is also pretty standard so when the food is good it is a bonus. They are not open on Sundays so just be wary of this. read more
