Tucked away in Oxley, this suburban Italian restaurant is surprisingly authentic and delicioso. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to Italian food. I love my ham and pineapple pizza even if it's not authentic Italian and for pasta I always try either carbonara or spaghetti matriciana. I'm happy to report that the pasta was rich with flavour and that the portions were generous. I thought the pizza base was perfect- crunchy and thin but people were mutinous over the boring topping. Well, what did they expect on a ham and pineapple pizza? Peppers? Anchovies? This place is worth driving out for if you're not an Oxley local. read more

One of the best pizza places I found in Brisbane! We didn't try to "eat in" because the place is quite small, basic, and noisy if full, but the take-away pizzas are a real treat. I'm kind of happy I don't live next door (our friends do), otherwise I could be twice the size. (*^_^*) Someone in another review mentioned an older grumpy Italian man there. Well... He did look very serious, but he is making damn good pizzas! And all the other staff at Pellegrini's are quite pleasant and nice. read more

I'm such a pizza lover! Most times I find pizza to be pretty good everywhere, because how hard is it to stuff up? Base, sauce, toppings and you're done! Unfortunately, at this place I was left surprised and disappointed. It definitely had the base, sauce and toppings... but for some reason, the toppings were extremely bland. There was a lot of it, just the flavours were not there. I don't like to waste food, so I ate it all, but the passion just didn't feel like it was there. Their service is really good though. They're attentive and very friendly there. When you go there you can dine in or take away. I've only had take away, because there are not many tables to sit at there. It's a small sized restaurant but there is plenty of space to park because it's right next to the Food Works grocery store. If I were to get pizza in the area, I think I'd rather get a frozen pizza in Food Works then spend the money on bland restaurant pizza. However, I do think it is still worth trying their pasta- just don't expect their pizza to be great. read more

I go there once a month. Pizzas and pasta are very nice indeed. Staff are always friendly. Nice little cafe atmosphere.

I would give this place a 0 if I could. The atmosphere is average, the pizza and garlic bread was OK But the real let down, my carbonara arrived and was very eggy, the egg was over cooked and scrambled, with large chunks of egg through it. I ate about a quarter, my partner was enjoying his pizza and I didn't want to make a scene, but as I tried to eat it, it became pretty clear that it was just...Gross. I mentioned it to the waiter, and that's when my experience got memorable in the worst way possible: an old italian man, possibly the owner, came out and started yelling at me and abusing me for complaining. After several minutes of sitting in stunned silence, i just told him everything was fine and not to worry about it, just to make him stop. We paid and quickly left. No discount was offered, and there was no offer to remake the dish or an alternative for me. I never complain at restaurants, but this time it was really unpleasant and I just felt I had to bring it up. I never anticipated that that might be the reaction I would receive as a paying customer. It was disgusting and frankly a little scary. Will never be going here again and will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place! Worst service I've ever received. read more
