I think it is impossible to review TSC in my normal fashion as it is not actually a restaurant, it is an experience- as one of the other Yelpers said. I could tell you what we ate and what was absolutely incredible about each course and what minuscule flaw I found in them too, but there would be no point as your menu would be completely different any way. I loved TSC but the person I went with thought it was average. I loved that I was eating authentic Italian food cooked with fresh ingredients by an Italian family who welcomed us into their home. If you are unfamiliar with the way the evening goes, you essentially have a set menu, 3-4 courses, seat 10 people on one big table and enjoy the night together. I love this concept so much, if I were able to open my home up Id ask TSC if they'd allow a franchise. We sat with strangers, ate dinner, talked, laughed, learnt and had a lovely evening. The quality of the food is outstanding, the service is wonderful and you feel like you're at a dinner party with friends. I appreciate that this food experience is not for everyone, but if you are a "Foodie" or identify as a "Gourmands" and you live in Brisbane, you need to visit this place at least once. I'll be going again, if for no other reason to see what whacky people are there on the night with me.

Lucky, lucky us. Every other weekend each month, on a Saturday or Sunday night, follow the directions in your confirmation email to a little slice of Italian life. The menu for the evening generally has a subtle theme to it - I've been to "cheese" nights and "seafood" nights. The food may not be "restaurant quality" but it's made with enthusiasm and love, and they both taste delicious. Donata, Guia and Andrea are more than happy to tell you any stories behind any of the items of food you're eating, whether that explanation happens at the start of the night, as they bring each course out, or at the end of the night if you can cajole them into standing around the table for a chat while everyone rubs their bellies. Andrea grew up in a fishing village, so if the meal is seafood, then his family's recipes are probably behind it. There's usually at least one look-in for a form of pasta, and the dessert is always light enough to not steal focus from the entree and mains, the real stars of the show. The cost of the evening is merely a donation toward the ingredients, set at a minimum of $50 per person at a table that seats up to ten. BYO is fine (and may I suggest vino, vino, vino!). You don't have to bring a crowd of ten - get adventurous and suit up to make some new friends over a meal. I've been to TSC three times and I have to admit that only one of those times was I adventurous enough to dine with strangers (the other two times, my group booked up the whole table - I'm also taking credit for TSC increasing their maximum number of diners from 8 to 10!). It was, of course, a wonderful night - because only wonderful people would get involved in such a thing. As more and more people find out about TSC, the waiting time for a dinner reservation gets longer and longer, so email them ASAP and get involved. It's also worth liking TSC's page on facebook, because occasionally last-minute cancellations will free up a seat or two and bring your weekend some bonus excitement and delicious food. In fact, I got so excited about TSC again while writing this review that I've emailed for a new reservation. See you there?

Our entrée of bruschetta was some of the best I've tasted and it was a dead heat as to who received the best main course. My gnocchi was rich and creamy without being overbearing or heavy and went nicely with the caprese salad I ordered as a side. I tasted my companions' dishes (penne puttanesca and prosciutto-wrapped pork) and both were incredibly flavoursome. We ordered a tiramisu and panna cotta from the dessert menu and thoroughly enjoyed both along with espresso shots. The restaurant is simply but beautifully decorated and Italian film and television posters adorn the walls. The ladies bathroom was very clean and spacious and perfumes were available for those needing a top-up. Overall, the experience was fantastic with the only room for improvement being the lighting, which was a little bright. I'll be making the trip to Paddington quite regularly.

It's a traditional Italian trattoria and is a wonderful little space inside the restaurant, with part of the space dominated by a very large collection of Italian (and other countries) wines, which can match any of the meals you opt for. The menu is very pasta based, which is great for an Italian restaurant, but there are other options just in case you feel like something different. When the restaurant is full, it has an amazing vibe but it can become a little difficult to hear your dining companions, so if you love a robust conversation and a good meal Italian style, then Grappino is the spot

We thought no seats, the kerbside tables were full and the tables inside were all reserved. Well, turns out there's a beautiful deck out the back, and there was still plenty of room. Fairy lights for ambience and the pizza oven is out here too, you walk past the kitchen on the way and even the kitchen staff are friendly. It's always nice when you go to an Italian restaurant and the Italian guy cooking the pizza is speaking in Italian to the other Italian cooks. The pizzas are quite traditional with delicious ingredients. I tried a bit of crust (as the pizza ordered was too spicy for me) and it was delicious! Being the fan of bastardised aussie pizzas, I went with a different option. The crumbed veal was delicious, and the potatoes were perfect. Salad was a bit blah, bog standard lettuce with a couple wedges of tomato and a dash of dressing. We both enjoyed our meal, and the serving size was bang on.

High quality ingredients presented in traditional Italian ways. They have a wonderful pizza oven that is wood fired that gives a brilliant crust and they have great staff who know their pizza craft. One of the owners makes wonderful fresh pasta so talk with your waiter about what is good on the day you are there. The fit out is considered. There is a small Street area where pictures of the family over generations hinge. The large deck out the back is wonderful so you can watch the pizza being prepared and cooked. With a variety of private rooms upstairs they cater for functions as well. Huge capacity and it's a great choice for large groups. I haven't had breakfast here but have tried most of the menu over the years. I love the quattro formagio (4 cheeses) pizza. One of the standout features of Otello is the traditional focus on service. They make you feel special and are consummate professionals when it comes to table service. If only more wait staff around Brisbane could take the same pride in their work. It makes for a relaxed atmosphere.

Now there are many attributing factors when it comes to the condition known as "Fresher Spread"…read more Every fresher gets it. Fat, that is. It's a combination of greasy college food, excessive drinking and Mr Deno's Kebabs (inextricably linked to excessive drinking). You get in the cab after a night out and instead of giving your college address, you say in a drunken slur, "Take me to Mr Deno's at the Ville." And it's all downhill from there. But oh how satisfying those kebabs are when all you've got in your tum is a big churning mess of alcohol. To sink your teeth into a Mr Deno's before stumbling home to college and falling in bed would have to be one of the most satisfying experiences, not be missed out on by any St Lucian collegiate. The fresher spread is even worth it!

When returning to St Lucia (the student suburb) after a late night out there is only one place to go to soak up the alcohol and that is Mr Deno's. Many a student has reached that point in the night where there is nothing better than a greasy kebab. In fact, all I remember from my student nights here is the wonderful full feeling of this fine product as it hit my goon filled stomach and gave me the strength to walk the hundred metres home and into my bed. The kebabs really are amazing, such that there is even a facebook page dedicated to them (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mr-Denos-Kebab-Shop/77734942575?sk=info) where you are encouraged to post photos of yourself devouring Mr Deno's kebabs and just be a part of the general awesomeness that is this Kebab shop. Mr Deno's Kebab and Pizza's hours change depending on the student calendar (they close earlier when it is not semester). Now I recommend not even looking at Mr Deno's during daylight hours. The "best kebab of your life" during the night quite easily turns into a very average kebab during the day. Keep Mr Deno's for those late nights and you will stay a fan!
