I've been going to Peninsula Physical Therapy for the past 3 months, twice a week for my lower back pain. Dr Mark, the owner, was able to diagnose my problem and created a workout that strengthened my core. Dr Mark also massaged my problem areas before the exercises and was receptive to adjusting the massage to the pains I was feeling that morning. The facility was always clean and the staff is great - they were all kind, patient, and made sure I did the exercises correctly. A special thanks to Carl at the front desk, Dr James (who I saw when Dr Mark was unavailable), and assistants Isaiah, Isabella, and Gustavo. This review is long overdue. I'm 57 yrs old so this is not my first time at the rodeo but I will say this is the ONLY place I will ever go for PT now. PPT is exceptional in helping individuals of all ages and needs. When I tore my meniscus in October 2024, I actually told my orthopedist that I didn't want to do PT based on my past experiences which spanned places that were either too cautious of hurting me so they treated me like an 80 yr old fragile person or places that had canned exercises that never changed over months with aides that didn't seem to care but rather were just checking off boxes. My doctor recommended I try Penninsula PT so I reluctantly called to make an appointment and asked for a therapist who "would treat me like an active person not an 80 yr old" and Tameka said "oh I have just the person for you!". And be careful what you ask for because Dr Uriah is no joke! His athletic training background in combination with his physical therapy expertise is exactly what I was looking for because he is not just here to get you back to functional - his tailored protocol while intense is always safe but he will push you as far as you want to go. I can honestly say that I am stronger than I ever was because he identified weaknesses that contributed to my injury and now I feel bullet-proof. In addition to the physical therapists who are all very qualified, I've never experienced a place where the entire staff is so uber committed to their patients' recovery and well-being. Here's what makes PPT exceptional: -Focus on patient progress and outcomes: All other places I've been have a set timeslot and standard exercises. At PPT, they don't manage your treatment to the clock - they make sure you are getting in what you need including the ice/ stem even if you're finished with your exercises at 5:45. They never rush you. - Care for all age groups and conditions . When I'm at PT, I see patients across all age groups ( children, teens, young adults, middle age, senior even in their 80's ) working rehab programs tailored to each person's condition and capabilities. I have been going for a year and not only has my knee and sciatica condition improved dramatically , it's great to see others making similar progress. - The aides are spectacular. Given my extensive treatment duration, I have worked with nearly all of them and I couldn't be more impressed by their work ethic, knowledge, intellectual curiosity, and congeniality. These young men and women definitely put you to work with pleasure. - You can tell the ethos of the facility comes from Mark the owner who clearly wanted to build a business that is here to help people live their best lives. Sometimes a place that is so dedicated and committed can be serious and intense but not here, everyone who works here is obviously fulfilled and happy to be here. I'm posting this review on behalf of my mom, Anita. I am beyond grateful for the care I received at this physical therapy clinic. Coming in with osteoporosis was honestly scary for me, but from the very beginning, I felt supported, understood, and safe. Allison is an incredible therapist - compassionate, patient, and truly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything, listened to my concerns, and made me feel confident in my body again. Every session felt intentional and encouraging, and I could genuinely feel myself getting stronger, both physically and mentally. The physical therapy assistants were also wonderful - always kind, attentive, and motivating, even when I was having a tough day. On top of that, the front desk staff, Timika, Maddy, Carl (sorry if I misspelled any) made every visit pleasant with their warmth and professionalism. I am so grateful to Uriah Maimone for figuring out what was really causing my hip pain. I have suffered with it for several years, at first thinking it was degenerative osteoarthritis in my hip joint. After seeing a hip specialist, I was told the problem was degenerative disease in my lower spine. I do have that but the real problem and the source of my symptoms was caused by uneven leg length. Uriah evened out the legs and gave me exercises to keep them balanced. I can go back to walking now without that nagging pain! This review is for Dr Uriah Maimone I had partial knee surgery in December leaving only 2 months to achieve full knee range of motion and full strength before my Scotland hiking trip with fifteen miles being the first hike of my vacation. Uriah understood the mission and was up for the challenge (he is very result oriented). Uriah is extremely knowledgeable of the mechanics of partial replacements, the surrounding muscles and knee/leg autonomy. He understands the healing process and designed a progressive excise plan to fit my specific needs and goals. Uriah educated me on each PT movement so I understood how to correctly do the exercises eliminating mistakes and pain. He was encouraging, positive and a lot of fun to be around, each session was enjoyable and fun. At the end of my physical therapy, he spent time teaching me exercises to do at home to maintain all the progress I made with him, which I could do anywhere even on my hiking trip in Scotland. Yes, I did the 15 miles plus the other 6 long hikes and I'm happy to say my knee is doing great all thanks to you and your gift of making people whole again. I didn't like this place. First of all, they accept too many patients at a time. In a relatively small PT room, there were good twenty people doing various routines at a time. One seemingly licensed physical therapist meets with me today for the initial 10 or so minutes, he created my exercise program (in my case 3 different moves today) and gave the information to an unlicensed floor guy who made sure I do the routines as prescribed. Basically he counted the number of moves, ten calf stretch 3 times, bridges 10 times x 3 sets, etc. He doesn't seem to have any anatomical or medical expertise other than counting. This place is a huge money making place. In fact, they called me twice to change my appointment time and I found out they wanted to cram as many patients as possible during a particular time segment. I have never been to such a packed PT place. There was no personal instructions as my licensed pt guy has been busy intaking new patients and spent no time on the floor to be with a patient. read more

I was referred to Dr. Uriah Maimone last year to treat a pinched nerve. I have worked with several PT's over the course of my life due to injuries related to my active lifestyle. I have a wealth of gratitude for the care Dr. Uriah has provided me with; he's focused not only on treating the particular issue I came in with... he wanted to know everything related to my physical health, from my work environment to sports to past injuries and explained how they are interrelated. I don't do many reviews, but I really wanted to do this one because I'm getting amazing (and unexpectedly fast) results healing my shoulder and I give all the credit to Dr. Maimone (my PT) and the assistants that have been taking care of me. You can read the details below but to summarize: these guys are easy to work with, know what they are doing, and they get results. The front staff is easy to work with and is very good at managing appointments availability. And this is great as continuity is very important in such type of treatment. The facility itself is spacious, very nice and clean. Also, it never took more than 5 minutes between my appointment time and the doctor taking me in for the session. From an access point of view, there is plenty of parking available. During my first visit, Dr. Maimone spent a lot of time asking me questions about my shoulder issue, taking baseline measurements of my current shoulder mobility and looking at my orthopedist diagnostic report. He then explained in great details the issue with my shoulder and, using a skeleton and posters illustrating shoulder muscles, ligaments, and tendons, showed me what was going on with my shoulder and why I had limited mobility and pain. From there he explained the strategy to fix the issue and again demonstrated what the results will be and how they will make my shoulder functional again. I was not expecting such extensive and detailed explanation but was very pleased as it gave me a good understanding of what I was going to improve and why. Really helps when you know what your exercises are doing to your body. After this first part of the visit, Dr. Maimone took me to the exercises floor and started to show me the exercises, watch me doing them and making sure I did them correctly. He also gave me a set of exercises to do home. Once he was sure that I was doing the exercises right, he asked one of his assistants to help complete the series of exercises but came back a couple of times to check how I was doing. Once I was done with the exercises, the assistant installed me on a table with ice and some machine that gave electric impulses to my shoulder muscles. All the assistants I worked with so far have been very friendly and helpful completing correctly my exercises. Since this first visit, I had 7 sessions more and my shoulder mobility and pain are very close to normal. At each session, my PT evaluates the progresses and adjust the exercises accordingly. Very dynamic and efficient approach so far. A big thanks to Dr. Maimone and all the staff at this facility. It's a real pleasure to work with them and I get results. Not much more to ask. read more

I have never been to this facility, even though they have called me twice to check on my insurance coverage. get my personal information and setting up an appointment. I am aware that the front desk is a representation of how a business is run, and that's where my problem began. All the recent reviews here are stellar and perhaps their services prove that. But when I called last Friday (June 21,2024) to confirm an appointment that had been made 3 weeks prior, they showed no record of my name or any information that I had provided to them in the previous 2 phone calls. In my opinion, if the front office is this disorganized, then their services must be the same and therefore I do not want to make an injury that I am trying to heal worse based on what I am left to think of this business! I, unfortunately would never recommend this facilty to anyone! I am pursuing another PT office and feel that any other one would be an improvement over this one. I came to this Physical therapy center because of the convenient location, but I am staying because everyone is super nice and professional. From kind Tamika who will great you at the front desk with her contagious smile and try her hardest to accommodate time for your next appointment to Mark, the owner, all the staff is extremely polite, respectful and helpful. My PT Allison is super calm, knowledgeable, compassionate and is going above and beyond with the best plan for my back pain. I have had physical therapy at this location 3 times. Debbie, office manager, is pleasant and very efficient. The facility is clean and offers many different options for therapy. Came here to rehab my elbow and injured my shoulder instead of overly aggressive exercises

Former combat sports athlete here. Had a pretty serious shoulder injury that required surgery that effectively ended my competitive career. I had been to 4 different physical therapists in an attempt to rehabilitate my shoulder to actually be able train at some level again and none helped. Dr. Uriah has been an absolute godsend. I have been consistently been going to him for some time now and I have more mobility and less pain in ten years and have been actually been able to start training again. His techniques and knowledge are second to none and he makes sure to check on his patients to make sure they are progressing; he wants to make you better! He also explains things clearly and concisely that way you can understand what he is attempting to do and also what you can do to speed up your recovery. How fortunate we are to have Peninsula Physical Therapy in the area. After several incidences of very painful locking of the knee, followed by a procedure for a meniscus repair, I went to Mark, the only physical therapist I will go to. He is so knowledgable, skilled and calm. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The support staff are well trained and polite. The facility is well organized and clean. This review is long overdue. I love this place and highly recommend them. I have had a horrible case of frozen shoulder in my right shoulder. It got so bad that I could barely move and was in incredible pain. I was frightened and it was very hard to trust anyone with my shoulder because it was so fragile. My mom had seen Erik Hernandez and she absolutely loved him and raved about him. So I went to see him. He has been fantastic. I trust him completely and I truly believe he has saved me and my shoulder. I now have frozen shoulder in my left shoulder, if you can believe that. The only good part about it is that I trust that Erik will help me get through this like he did the last one. He has a very calming way about him. He listens to me and changes his approach based on how I'm feeling. The listening is so important. He truly cares. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have found him. If you're reading this and trying to decide who to go to, please go see Erik. You will love him too. And Debbie at the front desk is fantastic and the assistants are all so great. I injured my back two years ago, since then I have done physical therapy twice. Once in late 2022 and again in mid 2023, both at different locations. Once the pain got so bad to the point I couldn't walk, I consulted my primary physician. I was referred to a pain medicine specialist and had a series of MRI's, ultrasounds, and nerve testing done. The doctors referred me to physical therapy which I initially declined because my first two failed attempts. After serious consideration I called Peninsula Physical Therapy because it is located on the same street as my work and they were flexible with scheduling around my work schedule. Tameka the manager is the face of the business, she is very accommodating and knowledgeable, when you walk in she always greets you with a friendly smile. Uriah is my therapist, he is a spine specialist with the knowledge and experience to properly treat my condition. He is very thorough and patient when it comes to treatment. He explains in detail what each exercise is, how to do it and what area it works. He encourages my progress at my pace without risking further injury.The aide's are all very helpful and encouraging. Everyone there is friendly, positive and work great as a solid unit. I'm glad I chose to give physical therapy another chance. I went from barley being able to walk with a pain level ranging from 8-10 on a daily basis, to living pain free for the first time in two years. I would most definitely recommend them over any other physical therapy group. read more

The fear of re-injury is probably the most common restraint we have in moving forward with our lives. The physical and mental work hand-in-hand in rehabilitation. I have been to multiple physical therapists over the last two years for my herniated discs, stenosis, and degenerative disc disease. I was never able to get over my fear of re-injury. Uriah has been a godsend... he is an athlete, so he understand the body and how it works! His supportive techniques, intuition, and love for his work has reinstituted the courage and strength I need to fix myself. Not only does he explain everything to you from a medical standpoint and what your body is doing during the rehabilitation process, he pushes you to reach your optimum level at the best pace possible. When he engages with you, he fully listens to you and puts forth the effort you need for a full recovery. Good PTs but generally all work is done by and with PT aids. PT does not see of follow patients regularly. Billing process and billing is very messed up! The problems with them demanding overpayment and billing issues including the billing office not getting info on payments that have been made (and required) at the time of visit in the clinic, not understanding how FSAs work when being used for copay makes any positive completely erased. I advise avoiding this PT clinic until they learn how to properly bill and resolve billing errors. read more

Treatment is fine billing is awful. You are given the impression your Insurance covers, after copay. Than month later you get a big bill and if you don't pay immediately a collector starts calling. We moved over to Riviera PT, they give you an insurance breakdown right away, no surprises. Too bad but they will keep loosing business. I have good insurance. read more

From his PT staff to the aides to the front desk/reception, to the vast assortment of rehab tools and equipment....to the impressive cleanliness, this is the place to go for your return to wellness. Mark has treated me twice for a recurring case of Achilles tendinosis. I had never experienced serious physical therapy before my experience with Peninsula Physical Therapy but I can tell you that my experience with Mark and his entire staff has been outstanding. Everyone is professional and kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is friendly and clean and comfortable. I have been in therapy from a serious calf strain and burst Baker's cyst for about a month and have become much stronger and close to complete recovery. Do go there! Therapy was ok but billing sucks!! I was out of net for me. So it was agree that I would pay $620 for the first 7 time, then it would be $20 for each visit. Now, I receiving a bill of $150. I called to explain over and over still I'm receiving the same bill over & over & over again!! If it's out of net don't go!!! read more

I had surgery on my back in July 2015 and Mark and the PT assistants have helped me feel like myself again. They are located in a convenient location and the office is always clean and comfortable. I spent 4 months in PT at Peninsula Physical Therapy. I never dreaded going...which is a big plus! Mark was especially attentive to "special circumstances" of my knee replacement, focusing on the areas that were most problematic. During other PT experiences, I was lucky to see the therapist for 10-15 minutes. Mark spent a lot of time with me before turning me over to the assistants for the routine exercises. Debbie was also great to deal with in terms of scheduling and making things work with my schedule...very responsive and accommodating. If I could give them a zero I would. While their treatment is fine, their billing company is horrible to deal with. I am 8 months into trying to get them to send me a correct bill. They billed my daughter's treatment under my name and refused to fix it. My insurance got involved and they blamed the insurance for their incompetence. Just got the latest bill and now payments I made are gone and I somehow owe a new amount. I sent them more then I owe just to get them to go away. There is much better PT without the hassle. I went to Peninsula Physical Therapy following surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus in my right knee. They were referred to me by my orthopedic surgeon. Owner & director Mark Argento, MPT and his highly skilled PT team did an exceptional job of providing me with physical therapy twice a week over several weeks, and just today, I completed my rehab program and I feel great! Mark and his team's support exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend Peninsula Physical Therapy! In addition to the skilled PT team, their location was close by and convenient (didn't have to get snarled in the Torrance/South Bay traffic), I was able to park in ample parking literally steps from their door and their facility is bright, new and well equipped.
