I've been going to Peninsula Physical Therapy for the past 3 months, twice a week for my lower back…read morepain. Dr Mark, the owner, was able to diagnose my problem and created a workout that strengthened my core. Dr Mark also massaged my problem areas before the exercises and was receptive to adjusting the massage to the pains I was feeling that morning. The facility was always clean and the staff is great - they were all kind, patient, and made sure I did the exercises correctly. A special thanks to Carl at the front desk, Dr James (who I saw when Dr Mark was unavailable), and assistants Isaiah, Isabella, and Gustavo. I "graduated" last Thursday and my back pain is minimal for a 66 year old man. I received a copy of the exercises and plan on continuing the exercises at home. Thank you Dr Mark.

PPT is exceptional in helping individuals of all ages and needs. When I tore my meniscus in October 2024, I actually told my orthopedist that I didn't want to do PT based on my past experiences which spanned places that were either too cautious of hurting me so they treated me like an 80 yr old fragile person or places that had canned exercises that never changed over months with aides that didn't seem to care but rather were just checking off boxes. My doctor recommended I try Penninsula PT so I reluctantly called to make an appointment and asked for a therapist who "would treat me like an active person not an 80 yr old" and Tameka said "oh I have just the person for you!". And be careful what you ask for because Dr Uriah is no joke! His athletic training background in combination with his physical therapy expertise is exactly what I was looking for because he is not just here to get you back to functional - his tailored protocol while intense is always safe but he will push you as far as you want to go. I can honestly say that I am stronger than I ever was because he identified weaknesses that contributed to my injury and now I feel bullet-proof. In addition to the physical therapists who are all very qualified, I've never experienced a place where the entire staff is so uber committed to their patients' recovery and well-being. Here's what makes PPT exceptional: -Focus on patient progress and outcomes: All other places I've been have a set timeslot and standard exercises. At PPT, they don't manage your treatment to the clock - they make sure you are getting in what you need including the ice/ stem even if you're finished with your exercises at 5:45. They never rush you. - Care for all age groups and conditions . When I'm at PT, I see patients across all age groups ( children, teens, young adults, middle age, senior even in their 80's ) working rehab programs tailored to each person's condition and capabilities. I have been going for a year and not only has my knee and sciatica condition improved dramatically , it's great to see others making similar progress. - The aides are spectacular. Given my extensive treatment duration, I have worked with nearly all of them and I couldn't be more impressed by their work ethic, knowledge, intellectual curiosity, and congeniality. These young men and women definitely put you to work with pleasure. - You can tell the ethos of the facility comes from Mark the owner who clearly wanted to build a business that is here to help people live their best lives. Sometimes a place that is so dedicated and committed can be serious and intense but not here, everyone who works here is obviously fulfilled and happy to be here. I honestly can say I came here for the results and enjoyed every minute of the experience and people. Thank you PPT!

At my consultation appointment her team X-Rayed my spine & Dr Rodgers reviewed them & my MRI prior to meeting her. She was very professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. At 50 years old, I was hesitant and scared. I had heard so many negative things about spinal fusions, and being a high-risk patient with a history of blood clots only added to my fears. But from the moment I met with Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, I felt heard and understood. They took the time to explain everything clearly and compassionately. My X-rays and MRI made it undeniable--my spine had slipped to the point that surgery was the only option. It wasn't going to get better on its own, and I wasn't getting any younger. In early February, I had the surgery. From the very first time I got up afterward, I was pain free--something I hadn't experienced in years. Now, eight weeks later, I'm still pain free and healing well. I am beyond grateful that I chose to trust these incredible doctors. They gave me my life back, and now I have a future full of possibilities ahead of me. Thank you, Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, for your skill, your kindness, and for helping me reclaim a life without pain. Angela M.

I had a successful left hip replacement 2.5 years ago by another surgeon who used a more universal posterior approach with MAKO robotic assist, so I have a good point of comparison. Dr. Wassef uses the DSA (Direct Superior Approach) with MAKO robotic assist which is currently a less common method due to the specific training and technique required to do this approach (google DSA to see differences). In simple terms i have been blown away at how minimally invasive this approach seems to be. Without a doubt, to date, this technique has been less painful than my previous hip. I am so impressed at how quickly I was walking normally without a walker or cane and without any limp. At 2 weeks in I am in PT doing exercises that i could not get to many many weeks beyond the 2 week point with my previous hip. Incision is quite small as well but i am not a "meaty" guy so not sure what allowed me to have such a small incision. Lastly I have NO problem taking narcotic pain meds like oxycodone! I'm not an abuser but definitely a willing user if need be. After this surgery I had real trouble justifying much of any use of the Oxy prescribed. I easily survived on two 500 mg tabs of Tylenol 2x's a day once in AM and once before bed. Thanks Doc.

What made this worse was watching other individuals who appeared to have a personal relationship with the doctor walk in without appointments and be taken ahead of us. It felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful of our time. When we were finally seen, the interaction did not improve. Dr. Mellano came across as defensive and combative when we asked reasonable questions about our daughter's condition. After reviewing MRIs and X-rays that were ordered through this same clinic, he ultimately said he didn't know what the problem was, suggested her pain (ongoing for over a year) would "eventually go away," and advised us to seek a specialist outside of his clinic. We left with no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no confidence in the care provided. For a pediatric patient dealing with long-term pain, this level of dismissal and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I would caution others to read reviews carefully and consider other providers.

I've honestly never been to a medical facility where everyone was this sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend this office to anyone dealing with hand or leg injuries. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give 100 stars, I would.

Although I live in Long Beach and had limited time to visit in person, Dr. Melikian was kind enough to initiate contact via email and responded promptly. He arranged a quick phone consultation at no charge. He came across as very amiable, genuinely concerned, and highly knowledgeable about the subject. During our conversation, he brought up additional tests and treatment options I wasn't previously aware of. The call was definitely productive and appreciated. My only gripe, generally speaking--not specific to his practice--is that stem cell treatments are exorbitantly priced and not covered by insurance. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $9,000 or more for various stem cell treatment options. So, not a go just yet until I figure out how to come up with the money, I will have to live with my back pain.
