I'm a Penn Foster High School graduate and a current Penn Foster Career School student. I'm enrolled in the Medical Administrative Assistant program and just over halfway through my courses. Penn Foster is affordable, accredited and offered me, a busy mom and wife, the opportunity to get my high school diploma, not a GED, at the age of 23. I really enjoyed and continue to enjoy the self-paced method of learning and the flexibility of being able to learn on my own time. I graduated from Penn Foster High School debt-free with a 4.0 GPA. The Medical Administrative Assistant program has been great so far! I especially enjoy the new Allied Health Terminology Challenge games. It's this great interactive website the school developed to help allied health students learn their medical terminology. It incorporates hands on as well as audio/visual forms of learning and so far I've found it extremely helpful! I've already paid off my tuition for the program and I'm aiming to finish it this summer. The school has a community where students come together and inspire their peers. You can ask questions, start discussions, create polls, write blogs and share your progress with other students throughout your educational journey. The community is a great source of motivation, inspiration, and answers to questions. If you don't get the answer you're looking for in the community the school also offers a live chat service where you can talk to a student care rep one on one. I've utilized this service a few times and it's proven useful for questions about shipping, fixing the way my name appears on my diploma etc. If chatting isn't your thing you can always call or email as well. I eventually plan to enroll in a local nursing school. Whether a school chooses to accept credits or not has absolutely nothing to do with Penn Foster and everything to do with an individual establishments own credit transfer process. There are many colleges and universities that have accepted Penn Foster students. If you have your eye on a particular university or college you'd like to attend after attending penn foster it's best to call that school in advance to find out if they accept transfer credits or high school diplomas from nationally accredited schools such as PF. The nursing school I'll be attending will accept my Penn Foster High School Diploma as will the University I'll enroll in after I complete my Associates. DONT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS. These engrates. Literally every review that has low stars, if you read it, is due to a problem they had with either paying or understanding the material. News flash, you have to be responsible in order to complete a degree. If you didn't unenroll at the right time, that is your fault. MANY individuals have gone on to work at amazing places, and have good recommendations due to their work at penn foster. It is distanced education, obviously it is going to be a little more difficult to explain your position over the phone to one of the many representatives they have waiting there to assist you. These reviews actually piss me off because I have been enrolled in their CVT program for over a year with NO problems (probably because I read the terms before signing and was prepared to pay the proper amount I had agreed to). Seriously many of these students are idiots and that's probably why the schooling didn't work out for them. Some of the classes are easier, some harder. AKA you can blow through some classes, though you shouldn't. The material provided can be dated slightly, but I have experienced no information that is just blatantly incorrect. You people probably struggled to graduate high school, and are now mad at penn foster for not being cheaper and more individualized. READ WHAT THIS SCHOOL IS ABOUT. If you can't afford it DONT START. If you have a hard time doing work on your own with the possibility that help cannot be reached in the next five minutes, Penn Foster may not be the right school for you. They make it easy because it is all you. Your own schedule, WAYY cheaper than my other four degrees I have gotten. God. These reviews are absolutely disgusting and embarrassing. "They didn't answer my call" "I didn't unenroll in time so now I'm being charged" "The training materials are incorrect" Why cant people just take responsibility instead of blaming the college. They are more than willing to listen to you especially if you feel the material could be slightly more current. "If I could give zero stars I would" Grow the fuck up. It might help you if you actually have college degrees before spending 10$ to try out a class especially if you barely graduated high school. DONT MISTAKE PEOPLES IGNORANCE FOR THE SCHOOL'S LACKING. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Ashworth College (Penn Foster Group) regarding my ongoing difficulties in obtaining my conferred bachelor's degree transcript. I have been attempting to request my official transcript in order to apply to MSW programs, but I have encountered numerous issues that remain unresolved. Despite multiple attempts, the college's system has been consistently down, preventing me from completing my request. I have also been hung up on during phone calls, received incorrect transcripts, and have not received any updates or clear communication from their administration. This level of service is unacceptable, especially considering that I have fulfilled all financial obligations and completed my coursework. As an alumnus, I am appalled to learn that Ashworth College appears to have purged records of graduates, making it impossible for alumni to access their own transcripts or login to their accounts. This is a breach of my rights and a serious concern regarding record-keeping and transparency. Given these circumstances, I am requesting a full refund of my tuition paid to Ashworth College. I believe it is unjust to pay for a degree that I am unable to verify or present to graduate programs. Furthermore, I am considering legal action to address this matter. In addition, I must express my dissatisfaction with the college's customer service. Their lack of professionalism and responsiveness demonstrates a clear disregard for students' needs and a focus solely on profit. I strongly advise others to exercise caution and consider alternative institutions for their education. read more

I have just gone through and read several reviews for PF and I must say many people must not understand how yelp works and/or had some serious issues that landed them a negative review because of their own personal issues (not canceling classes in time to not owe $ for the entire semester, not making payments on time, miscommunication on the student's part, etc.). I have been a student with PF since 2014. I have no negative reviews what so ever. I have always had a pleasant experience speaking with student care and instructors, my payment plans were explained to me clearly, the transfer of credits from another college I went to school at went smoothly, My lessons/school work is written and understood thoroughly. I absolutely love that PF offers interest free payment plans and that my last semester is free of charge (seriously how many schools out there do that?). I love that you can study at your own pace which is another thing not many other schools allow. By the time I graduate my entire school tuition will be paid off so that I can earn my degree and take my boards. I am very happy with my education with PF thus far. I have busted my ass in school and at work to get to where I am and my employer already recognizes the program that I'm in and they are pushing me to learn more so that I can earn my promotion and pay raise a lot sooner than what most would. this place is the worst place i have ever ran across and im not even enrolled my girlfriend enrolled she is doomed to play extension fees understandable, accept when they wait a week to grade every finial and wait a month to send a the next book ,currently shes stuck in a math course because they write math answers unlike any other math book i have ever seen and examples that are supposed to help are never completed you only get bit of formula solving examples .then you find the fill the gaps on you're own i guess. now my girlfriends worried of failing her Procter and getting accused of cheating because the rest of the class she has decent grades because, any bits of math knowledge gained from you tube. she asks the professors for help, not answers they say it would be "cheating" and tutoring through them cost extra "conveniently when it shouldn't cost anything. she also posted on the chat forums looking for help but was deleted because of "cheating". and if they accuse her of that it will mean she wasted a few years of her life and so did i sitting here a waiting for her and helping her complete work, if they accuse her of cheating we will most likely be opening a lawsuit with them. I am a current student of Penn Foster College and have had two courses from the career school in the past. I also hold an Associates from PFC and have a bachelors in law and a JD degree from another university. I am what is considered a lifelong learner. When you enroll in any school you must do your due diligence. Will it meet your needs now and in the future? Regardless of where you attend college you will not receive a transcript and/or a diploma unless your tuition is paid in full. Go to any university in the U.S. and they want the money upfront in full, whether by cash or financial aid, before you even set foot in their classroom. Their college is nationally accredited (NA-recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education and Council for Higher Education Alliance-CHEA) and they have matriculation agreements with regionally accredited (RA) universities should you plan to go further in your education. Also a lot of their college courses are ACE evaluated so there are hundreds of RA universities that accept those courses should you want to go to one of them. I've gone to online and bricks and mortar colleges and most colleges offer both anymore. However I prefer online and self-paced and Penn Foster fits the bill. read more

I started my studies with Penn Foster in 2008 by enrolling in the Computer Information Systems Degree program. I completed my degree in 2012. I'm currently enrolled in the PC Maintenance Degree Program, in my third semester. When I look back over the past 6 years of studies, I'm still excited and proud of what I've accomplished along my Penn Foster journey. I've learned how valuable Penn Foster is to me personally, what it stands for, what goes on behind the scenes, the faculty, the instructors, fellow students, the Student Ambassador program, and all of the community group pages. Penn Foster has provided the means for me to succeed in life, one step at a time, one goal at a time, one dream at a time. I've found the instructors, Student Services, staff, and fellow students very helpful when I have had questions about my courses. I love the community feature because it gives students a way to interact with each other, plan study groups, meetups, and because it gives the students a sense of belonging. Interesting.......All I have to say are good things about Penn Foster. I have studied here and transferred College Credits to other colleges, both regionally and nationally accredited, with no problems whatsoever, people need to think about their ACE accredited courses, these can go to regionally accredited degrees. Online classes are extremely hard, why? Because you have to apply good time management skills. It's harder because you have to study harder, nothing is given on a crystal platter. Going to a traditional school is no piece of cake either. I love Penn Foster. I don't waste my money in simplicities. I get into the dirt and review well a schools accreditation, where do they stand and how have they helped. Penn Foster has helped me a great deal and I am proud to say that I am a Penn Foster Student...because I am. How many traditioinal schools, colleges, and universities done worse? Course was decent, however, the way they conduct business should be investigated. The school appears to have loop-holes that are in place to ignore, avoid and resolve anything in the students or grantor's favor. A couple of examples: 1. Unable to get name corrected on Diploma. Answer it should have been done before the course was over. (It wouldn't let me insert middle initial or Jr) Sorry policy. 2. Company paid for a course for potential employee. Employee quit never attended course. No refund because the student was over 18 and he must disenroll in writing. Unable to reach x-employee. I paid for it, so you keep the money anyway? Basically, YES!!!! With all dirt coming to surface with many things such as individuals or businesses. Penn Foster needs to be investigated. Can a class action lawsuit be warranted if there are many individuals that have been taken advantage of? read more

I enrolled with Penn Foster in 2012 just as I was finishing LPN nursing school. I am a student in the Health Care Management program and am more than half way through my 3rd semester. Everyone has different reasons for attending PF, and it might not be for everyone. I have taken past courses with PF and have been happy with them, so going for a degree course seemed like a good choice. More than anything I hope it will help me further my knowledge and skills in the medical field where I work at 2 jobs already. First is full time running a hospital transportation office, where we pick up patients from home and bring them in for rehab or testing and even same day services. Second is I work part time nursing for a nursing home every other weekend. My goal is to improve and continue to educate myself while being able to work and PF has allowed me to do this. I am finishing up my third semester in the veterinary technician program and cannot say enough great things about this program and this school!! I was very worried about going to school online at first but once I started, my mind was set at ease. I have never felt alone on this journey and the faculty and staff are excellent. My books have arrived pretty much on time and I have been able to get any questions answered in a very timely manner. The community is a great place to meet other students and get help or encouragement when you need it. I have learned so much from the webinars and feel like I am able to go to a class from the comfort of my home. I give this program two thumbs up and am proud to say that I am a student at Penn Foster. I see some negative comments here for Penn Foster. I'm in my third year of study for my Bachelor of Business degree. I have had nothing but success in my studies, in my contact with the school and the community. You are able to contact the school via email, phone and my favorite through the chat option. I have always had my questions answered in a timely and professional manner by a "student care" rep. The school has an online library, tutoring, and you can ask questions of peers on the community site. Penn Foster is known for their veterinary program, their high school, and they offer many career classes and degrees - both Associates and Bachelor in select fields. Give Penn Foster a try. I don't understand why all the bad reviews are here. Back in 2000 I enrolled (at the time they were Harcourt learning direct, and later International Correspondence schools), but I really loved the convenience and the material they had. Every time I talk to student services or teachers over the phone they are super nice and helpful. They are also patient and know a lot about their subject. I have not had any issues with transfering my credits to another school. They are not regarded as clep credits, where you just take a test. This school requires assignments homework and discussion boards. I am very happy with the school, and they have a payment plan that is a hundred times better than doing all the FASA loans! read more

I am a current student at Penn Foster. I am enrolled in the AS Accounting program. I have been going to Penn Foster College since 2009. When I enrolled in the AS program this year there was a glitch in my transfer records. Robin Ditto helped me to straighten out the school records and got me enrolled with full credit. I think Penn Foster is an excellent school for those that are self motivated. I can advance my education while working full time. The monthly payment program at Penn Foster allows me to pay as I go so I don't have massive school debts at the end.
