My experience with Rothman was disappointing and negatively impacted my life. Had a TKA performed…read morewhich was grossly misaligned. Resulting in pain and severely limited ROM. Same Rothman surgeon performed a TKR one month later with a similar result and he performed a subsequent MUA a few weeks later with no improvements to ROM and pain. At this point the surgeon referred me to another Rothman partner for a consult. The consult surgeon stated the knee needs to be revised for the 3rd time. Obviously, I moved on from Rothman Orthopaedics Institute. If you're considering a TKA please get more than one opinion from a different facility. The Rothman statements of "Be What You Were" and "Get Your Life Back" are simply marketing promises undelivered for this young patient.

I had an MRI for my son completed within just a few days of the script. I called to make our follow up appointment... 6 weeks to see Dr. Potteiger. The representative for the office suggested that I drop off the disc so the doctor could review it and we can confirm if an appointment is actually needed. Issue #1-this is a technical age, why do I need to drop off a disc?? It is in my sons record and should have been sent to them. Issue #2 - When I did drive over 30 minutes to drop this off, I was introduced to the day staff. Absolutely unprofessional and incapable of understanding customer service and the importance of finding a resolution!! I was met with deer in headlights b/c I did not have an appointment and she actually said they are unable to confirm they could secure my medical file "they loose things easily"... WOW! She then could only focus on a note in her system that they had called me the day before (which I told her they did) and left a message about scheduling the follow up. In complete frustration for them WASTING MY TIME I asked well then has something changed and there is an appointment sooner then 5+ weeks from now?? Even a coworker behind her advised that maybe she should pull up the schedule. She literally could not do it, literally!! Just sat there looking at me like she had nothing to say, she is there to check people in. Issue #3 - Please tell me why a doctor would order an MRI and not look at the results once received (b/c we all know they get them electronically and my deer in headlights front desk person made that remark "when I have an appointment he can just look it up in my sons record) they do not proactively look at it.. every doctor I go to calls me with results!! If there is an issue you say, we should make a follow up.... NO this office is obviously only about the billables. It is really sad, because we had such a nice experience with Dr. Potteiger yet the staff around him do not reflect that same culture or values. Makes you wonder if this is how the corporate Premier Orthopedics is running their overall business. If not, then you need to make a change to who represents you. Issue #4 - I called the office after this awful interaction and left a message for the doctor to speak with him. It has been a day.. no doctor call BUT get this... at 7 AM EST this morning a women named Donna thought it appropriate to call people to follow up on a message I left about scheduling an appointment!!! Holy lack of communication or just sheer ignorance. Who in their right minds things it is appropriate to call anyone, especially a client, before 8:30 am (even that is early to me).

I don't visit hospitals often, but from the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable. During my checkup and temperature check, the staff made sure I felt at ease. A special thanks goes to Dr. Lucy, who calmly drew my blood and gave me the courage to get through it without screaming or crying. She even gave me a heating pack afterward, which was a really thoughtful touch and made me feel like I had some control over the situation. Knowing I was in such capable hands made me feel safe and cared for. I also want to give honorable mentions to: Tech worker Michelle Lee O (I think that was his name; he was a white-skinned male with a really cool sleeve tattoo) Maggie (a tech worker with around 2 years of experience, if I remember correctly) They all did an excellent job making me feel comfortable while waiting and during my visit. I also want to recognize the unnamed staff who interacted with me respectfully and made me feel heard--whether it was part of their job or not, it made a big difference. Overall, I felt listened to, respected, and well taken care of, and I truly appreciate everyone who made my visit so positive.

They will recommend reaching out to Family Relations and it's just a line for you to leave a voicemail or you can email them. Nobody talks to you. I pray this review helps to make families more aware of what could happen and I hope this can improve future actions made by CHOP's medical team. My son was on an antibiotic for days not helping our issue and it was getting worse. We checked in at 11am to be told bloodwork was not necessary on my sick little boy. They finally did the labs we asked for and the nurse was not paying attention. She got blood all over us. My son sat all day with no food/water to the doctor throwing the word CANCER at us! We NEED to send you by ambulance to CHOP in PHILADELPHIA for a biopsy because we do not have someone to do it here. We waited from 6pm - 10pm while my family was scared for my son's life for a room to be available in Philly. They made it seem like we would get the biopsy once we got over there and then continued to monitor him on an antibiotic. Our ambulance driver complained to me about her ambulance being too small the whole drive over. We get our room in the Seashore House building on the 4th floor. The nurses tell me MY FIVE YEAR OLD and I were put on a behavioral floor for teenagers. 3 different roommates in our shared room/bathroom during our stay filled with horror stories. We didn't get much sleep listening to what was happening on the other side of the curtain a few feet away from us. Our first roommate was drunk and on drugs ripping his IV out with blood everywhere while he threw up and soiled himself all over our shared bathroom. When he wasn't doing that he was blasting bad language on his iPad or cursing on FaceTime. Our second roommate was a suicidal teenager that took a bottle of pills and didn't want to live and my 5 year old son had to listen to his story while we tried to sleep. Our third teen roommate was blasting bad language on his iPad. I BEGGED for a different room our whole stay to all the doctors, nurses, pediatricians, and the girls at the desk. We were told every day we would be doing a biopsy that never happened by doctors that continued to throw the word CANCER at us daily. My son was on food and drink restrictions daily for the BIOPSY THEY WANTED TO DO BUT DID NOT DO. Every day we woke up prepared for a procedure they told me was happening to have it never happen. I was scared for 4 days thinking my son could have cancer to have us sent home with a simple diagnosis that required no restrictions and a follow up with the pediatrician. THANK GOD my son got to walk out of that hospital healthy to his future but the trauma they caused our family was NOT NECESSARY AND UNFAIR !!! I pray an innocent small child is never put on that floor with teenagers ever again! I wish the doctors would wait to have more medical proof before throwing the word CANCER at a family. Things could have been so much better! I am so disappointed from start to end with our stay at both King of Prussia CHOP and the Philadelphia location. My family had to drive over an hour each way for simple monitoring that could have been done closer to our home if KOP did not transfer us to Philly. All of this could have been avoided if the labs were done sooner with quicker results at KOP. It took 4 days to get simple bloodwork results that caused this nightmare for my family. I pray another small child and their family does not feel the way we have felt from our time with CHOP.
