I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd be moved to write a review of a DMV office, let alone a very positive one. It's spacious. It's modern. It's clean (and that includes the bathrooms). It's efficient -- I was in and out in less than an hour. And every person I interacted with was competent, helpful, and very friendly. I almost forgot I was at a DMV office. Bonus for being near some really cool stores and a Sonic Drive-In. I live downtown and it's a bit of a trek to get here, but it blows the downtown office out of the water. I've never been here and had it be slow. This is a huge busy DMV. However, they go relatively quickly considering. It took about an hour to renew my Real ID but only because of the initial wait. Typical dmv nightmare. Having no ability to make an appointment tells you everything you need to know. It takes HOURS and HOURS to get anything done here. read more

You had better have all your documents in order. You need to get there 30-45 minutes before they open and about 15 minutes before they open get in line. If you get there after 10:00am expect an 1 hour wait. It slows down the later you get there. Also, they print the DL or Real Id there. read more

would not recommend going to the Washington location. From the moment I arrived, the experience was unpleasant. The greeter was very rude, and the two employees at the desk repeatedly left their seats to go into the break room instead of helping customers. One employee in particular refused to assist me even though I had all the necessary documents. It felt as though she was intentionally making the process more difficult than it needed to be. I was in and out in 14 minutes this Tuesday morning. Very smart doing an outside pre check and then when you walk in, there is a person giving you directions where to go. I had a new person being training on the camera cards and both individuals were a great help. Again 14 minutes where I brought a book as had no idea of the wait time. Way to go team! read more

My wife went there at 9:55 on a Thursday for a license photo and was done by 10:05. Great!

Today I went in to have my photo taken for a new drivers license. The service was fast and friendly. I was in and out with my new license in about ten minutes. The only reason I am dropping one star is because I was here this past Monday, and they were closed. In the past, they were open on Mondays, but not anymore . . . Cheers! read more

no reason to be rude & the older lady who gives out numbers is very rude to everyone even if you don't say a word she's just rude! she was just handing people numbers and smirking and just being a jerk. Honestly, that's probably one of the easiest job you can have. read more

Here's the hack to have a great experience getting a RealID same day. Show up at 7am with all your documents and a folding chair. Be one of the first people in line and the whole process will take 20m. Thank everyone profusely for working this exhausting/thankless job and wish them the best day filled with kind people. If the minimum wait is 2h, I'd rather do that before the they open and get in and out. (If I didn't need the RealID next week I would have gone to any DMV and submitted my paperwork to have it mailed to me.) read more

Came to get my REAL ID. In and out with new ID in hand in under 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Nobody looks forward to going to PennDOT, but this is the best one to go to. read more

Terrible experience at this location. They are ill equipped to handle the real ID process and demand and their agents are not well versed nor do they understand the federal requirements for the ID. I waited 2 1/2 hours to see Darlene, the surly and foul mouthed desk agent, who told me that my documents were not sufficient, refused to return my passport when I asked her questions (and started waiving it around like a clown behind her privacy screen snarling like a rabid dog), and called me a number of profane names. And, left without the real ID. What is interesting is that Darlene, for all her piss and vinegar (and disturbing animal sounds), was incorrect -- upon researching the requirements, my documents are, in fact, correct and acceptable. That said, I will not be wasting my time and returning to this location again. Darlene - customer service is not your calling, hun, and that dog look just makes you look like a crazy person. Might also be helpful to brush up on the requirements for Real ID so you don't lead anyone else astray. read more

I visited this location to obtain my real ID. Maybe I just was unlucky to pick a really bad day and time. I arrived on a Tuesday @ 10:30AM and my number was called at 5:00PM and I was done at 5:10 so I spent a total of 6 hours and 40 minutes from start to finish. Not my idea of a fun way to spend my day. :( I believe there are other states that allow you to schedule appointments for this service. Why can't Pennsylvania do this? read more

When going for the drivers test to get my license it was horrible. The guy who was the instructor was not very nice at all, he lacked so much emotion and it made me feel very uncomfortable. For their parallel parking, which they start with for the test, has a huge pot hole which is NOT fair to anyone at all!! I am not going back there to try again to get my license after this. My tire wasn't even on the line but there was only a tiny tiny sliver of the tire HOVERING BARELY over the line. It's ridiculous, especially when there is a huge pothole that easily can mess anyone up. In a real life situation I don't think anyone would park in a spot that has a huge pothole. And after when the guy told me to come take a look he was very snarky with me and I had not been rude at all. There are probably better instructors but the one I had, not a very nice guy. read more

Long waits. There were plenty of employees but the rush for a real id seemed poorly planned

Called DMV to ask a simple question but recording stated too busy to answer and too busy to leave a message. Had to go in person just to ask a simple question. Not that busy but find out it's an answering service! Why aren't they doing their job?! Also was humiliated in front of everyone at the dmv by the 'manager' who after hearing my complaint and upon me turning to leave pretended to play an invisible violin in a sarcastic way !!!!! I was able to file a complaint with the general manager. I still have no idea how a person like this man can remain a manager. Perhaps a couple courses in human relations. read more

The last things I want to hear is "We're all over the place" and "The tickets are not served in order" when I've been waiting for an hour.
