All of the experiences have been wonderful. The library portion is fantastic. A large kids section with friendly and helpful librarians, a great area (with a fireplace!) to relax, computers and an overall great selection of books. The music hall portion is wonderful as well. Seats are pretty comfortable with a decent amount of room and you can see well from basically anywhere in there. The backstage area has two large dressing rooms with lighted mirrors. The only downside is that there is fairly limited parking, so if you are attending an event, you need to get there early enough to grab a spot or hope for nearby street parking.

Built high on the hill, I am sure it witnessed a lot of Pittsburgh history. The kind staff allowed us to see the theater. It is very similar to Carnegie Library of Homestead. The lower level seats have been adopted and refurbished with nice padding. The Library is still raising funds to refurbish the seats on the 2nd floor. The fireplace on the main floor of the Library is enormous from floor to ceiling (at least 20 ft ceilings). The Civil War Nurses exhibit brought us to the library. Very enjoyable. We will be back to experience other events at the Library and theater. Ample parking during Library hours. Not sure enough parking onsite for theater events. Street parking available.

Overall, it is a wonderful city! I am continuously amazed at the amount of activities and cultural amenities that a city the size of Pittsburgh has. Sure, we have the Steelers, Pens and Pirates. But there is a world class symphony, opera and ballet. Tons of options for theater. And top notch museums and gardens. The city itself, especially downtown, is fairly well maintained. There are always street teams out making sure there isn't garbage laying around and in general, streets and sidewalks are fairly well maintained. The negatives are that with all the one way streets, it can be tough to navigate downtown. And, in the winter if we get more than about two inches of snow, the snow removal is awful. Overall, though, it is a wonderful city with plenty to do and see for people of all ages. I highly recommend a visit!

I've been fortunate enough to live in the City of Pittsburgh in both the Regent Square (city side) neighborhood as well as Little Italy (Bloomfield). Both fantastic neighborhoods (Bloomfield is my beloved) close to downtown. I would often walk to and from town from Bloomfield. In addition, I worked downtown in city government and absolutely loved it. Everything about my hometown city is wonderful. We've evolved from the Iron City (steel industry) to a foodie, tech, and medical hub. The city boasts amazing turn of the century architecture (and older) with new and modern buildings. The City of Bridges has beautiful views of the Three Rivers, Mount Washington, etc. from Point State Park which is a large green space along the water. There's nothing more awe-inspiring than driving through the Fort Pitt Tunnels to have the entire city in front of you. Oh, and how could I forget? It's definitely a sports town. "How 'bout dem Stillers, yinz guys?".

I have visited the borough many times, particularly to eat at its many high-quality restaurants along/near Lincoln Avenue. (My favorite restaurants are WunderBar and Revival on Lincoln. Go there!) The downtown area has old buildings, but they are being fixed up and maintained. Furthermore, I am able to find paid parking for my vehicle along the streets or in lots, and the area has walkable sidewalks and feels safe. I do not live here, but the prices for housing seem to be reasonable for people to afford, and the commute to downtown Pittsburgh would not be far. Amenities include a public library, parks, and swimming pool. The police and fire departments seem to do very good work.

It's part of a literary nonprofit called City of Asylum, and when I visited, it looked like they were setting up for a reading. There's an Italian restaurant with an appetizing menu in the adjacent space (Cucina Alfabeto) and apparently a row of uniquely designed homes on Sampsonia Way, so you could easily spend a leisurely afternoon here. There is a free parking lot in the back with about 10-15 spots. Also a curb side book drop. Beware though, as of July 2023, the library is under construction for renovations and there is NO air conditioning. So it's hot inside! Some days they even close early if it's too hot so you may want to call ahead to check. Excited to see what it looks like after renovations because it is an old building.

Plenty of seating so you can sit and read, enjoy people watching or catch one of the performances. There is even an area for pickleball! They host a variety of activities here including the Arts Festival, family fun days and movie nights. The space is well maintained and there is a security presence that makes you feel safe without being imposing. It is a wonderful addition to the area and something I recommend to anyone visiting the Cultural District!

My friends and I went to see the Spin Doctors for the first week of the Arts Festival. The stage and grass area is very nice. They even have wooden and iron benches in the back that you can sit on and still see. People also brought blankets and chairs to the concert. There are a few play areas for kids that are very nice. There were a bunch of kids playing there and they looked very happy. You get some great city and Northside views from there too. It was right in the heart of the Arts Fest on the bridge which was nice.
