My 1990 Chrysler LeBaron broke down middle of Nebraska toward the end of a long road trip. Towed it to this place on Sunday night and talked to them 7am Monday when they opened. They squeezed me into their busy day and had me up and running by 11am that day. Hands down some of the best auto service I've ever had. Super nice people too.

The aluminum panel making so much noise under my car.

I was driving down I-80 when my car started to make a horrible noise underneath. Couldn't see, smell, or feel anything amiss. Drove into York and eventually found Penner's open on a Saturday afternoon. When they heard my tale, they got my car right in and found the problem immediately. It was a thin aluminum shield that had come loose on one end and was rubbing & banging on stuff. Five minutes later, I was back on the road. They didn't even charge me! Thanks again, Penner's.

DO NOT go to this shop you will Regret It!!! I'm a mechanic that has worked at a different shop for…read more25 years. I always do my own repairs. I took my car in February of 2021 & told them my car was overheating & the thermostat was stuck. The reason I didn't repair myself... was because it was in the middle of a blizzard & -15 & I didn't have a garage to work in. Anybody with common sense knows you don't remove bolts out of an aluminum block when it is in negative degree weather or you will snap the bolts off in the block. They gave me some b.s. story that it was a 3 hour job & they would have to remove the manifold heat sheilds, coolant lines, fuel lines, throttle body & air intake to replace thermostat. They charged me (around $380.00) & my car worked fine for about 6 months. Than it started doing the same thing. I took it back in & told them I thought they put in a defective thermostat. They told me before they could do a warranty job, they would have to bring it in do a pressure test & look for coolant leaks before they would replace. They called me told me my car was fixed & it wasn't under warranty because they found a o-ring leaking on my thermostat housing. They said I had a air bubble in my system & my coolant was low. They charged me another $140. I call b.s. because I checked the coolant in the car & res tank in their parking lot the day I dropped it off & everything was full. I highly doubt the o-ring was bad because I just replaced the water pump not even a year before I brought it in. When I started my car I noticed antifreeze pouring out on the front drivers side of my car. I went back in & told them & they refused to go out & look at it. They told me there wasn't an issue & I was a shade tree mechanic that didn't know anything. I tried driving my car home & made it about 2 miles before my car overheated again. I called them & they told me they would come get my car but I would have to pay for the towing & another check & advise. I told the to forget about it. I walked home, got my truck & car trailer & hauled it home. My car has been sitting in my driveway since. On 3/02/2023 I/myself a (shade tree mechanic) worked on my own car. I ordered a gm 13 mm thermostat replacement wrench on Amazon for $23, that goes under the fuel rail. I bought 2 gallon coolant & fail safe thermostat for $60. It took me 45 minutes to replace thetmostat, fill coolant & burp coolant system. The thermostat I took out was the original oem part from factory. I let my car heat up & found that it was leaking coolant out of the left side radiator. I ordered a new radiator, coolant level sensor of ebay for $138. Today 3/13/2022 I replaced my radiator & my car is now working great,. My car has no leaks & the heater will run you out. When I pressure tested my old radiator by blocking off bottom hose, filled with water, put on rad cap & pressurized with a blow gun hooked to my air compressor. I didn't use a coolant pressure tested because the damage was already done & wanted to know where the leak was. I found the left side of my radiator at the top port was split on the plastic going down the rad. My guess is they didn't want to eat a warranty & they pressurized my coolant system until they got something to leak & blew out my radiator. I didn't have a coolant leak when it was taken in & my radiator & coolant res were full. If they did a pressure test why didn't they find a leak. In my opinion stay away from this bubble gum band-aid shop. It's a vicious circle, they don't fix the problem & keep bringing you back in & charge you a check & advise. They charge you for parts you don't need, gouge you on labor & will give you the run around until you give up & fix it yourself or find another shop. I'm not saying all there mechanics are bad. I know a few that work there & they are grade A mechanics. I just think the management, & owners are very unprofessional & very poor service.
