Took a high quality, very well known name brand black colored dress shirt in for dry cleaning after the first time I wore it. When I got it back there were disgusting white streaks all over it, it was covered in fuzz, and the best part was that there was a broken button from someone else's clothing that fell into the shirt pocket and was pressed into it. Yes, they pressed the shirt with half of a broken button in the shirt pocket and melted the button into the shirt. I returned the shirt to them and the lady behind the counter apologized and stated that she would have to send it to her boss for review. A week later I went back to see if they fixed the shirt and was told they did. When I went to look at the shirt I noticed the seam on the left side was ripped apart from under the arm to the bottom of the shirt. Again the lady behind the counter apologized and said she had seen 4 others like this in the past week. She said she had to talk to her boss about replacement. After one week of me calling to see if there was an update I finally got an answer. I was told I could come pick up my shirt and they would not do anything for me. When I called and asked to speak to the boss (Deepa) I got someone else on the phone initially pretending to be her and then claiming he was her partner. I was promised a call back that same afternoon that even though he was her partner, he could not replace my shirt without talking to her first. He never returned my call as promised and refused to give me his name. This business is a total sham. This was not my first time having problems with them. Total lack of care for customers product and refuse to make things right when they mess up. I had dropped off the clothes at their remote location (Dothan Dry Cleaner) on main st in Dothan. Now I'm out $400 for a uniform I'm going to have to replace because they made a mistake. The manager I talked to didnt offer to even refund the $15 I paid for the dry cleaning. I used this business for many years, but no more. The lady told me how she wanted my clothes cleaned. I ask for starch in a few pieces and she said that she could not starch them. I explained I've had starch for years in them and she said that they never starched my cargo pants in the past. At the end of the conversation I told her that I wanted my clothes as I choose and not what she recommends. Well you guessed it. The buttons on my new shirt crumbled like a cookie. Thank God that the shirt came with extra buttons. I have had many buttons crumble in the past....NO MORE!!! I've spent the last dollar theybwill ever get from me. Took husbands dress shirts to your cleaners. When we pick them up he checked for buttons that was fine. But on closer inspection they didn't clean the shirts at all. Bad ring around the collar. Horrible experience, Horrible Owner/Manager!! I brought in custom made drapery panels to be pressed. The owner/manger took it upon himself to dry clean the drapes instead and ruined the drapes. The back of the drapes have a custom made room darkening panel which is attached to the drape. After he made the decision to dry clean them instead of pressing them without our authorization the room darkening panel started to peel off, it looks like the back of the drape has been put down a garbage disposal. After confronting him he tried to blame us and said he did what we asked for.....until we presented him the receipt which clearly showed "Press Only". He only agreed to refund the cost to press them and not for any damages done. Not even an apology from him was given. He actually said out loud that it's really not that big of a deal since it was the back of the drape and no one would see it anyways! Are you kidding me! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau! If nothing is done through them I will send in pictures to the Dothan Eagle to advertise Penny Profit Cleaners service! Maybe it wouldn't have been such a big deal if these weren't custom made draperies and if the owner/manger actually acknowledged that he did in fact make a huge mistake by doing something we did not authorize! read more

I took two dresses in for alterations- to be shortened and hemmed. The cashier rang me up $20/dress. The next day, they called me back and said that they charged me wrong and it should have been $40/dress. I told them never mind and I will take my dresses and my $40 back. Next day, I show up to pick up my dresses and no one can find the dresses. No refund either because the manager is not there. I try calling back every hour or so for about 3 hours and still no manager. Finally, I got a hold of the manager on his personal cell phone and he said that they found the dresses and he would honor the original price quote of $20/ dress. Then later that night, another lady called and said that the pinning was confusing and I needed to come back in to be remeasured. At this point, I told them I would please just like both my dresses and my money back. So she says that they already did the one dress and it is ready. When I went in today to pick up the dresses, they tried to say they could only give me a $20 store credit, but I pushed for a cash refund. Now that I get home and look at my dress that was supposedly hemmed, I realize that absolutely nothing was done, so I am out $20 and a bunch of time! Oh well, lesson learned, I will never step foot in there again!! read more

I went to drop off my shirts for cleaning today and had a horrible experience. The lady at the counter today was very rude. The young lady was explaining to me that they couldn't guarantee no damage to 3 of my shirts because it had additional embellishments because they could be damaged already. I showed them they were not damaged and that's when the other lady came over. She looked at them and rudely said "well we can clean them but we can't guarantee we won't damage them" I'm sorry but isn't that what dry cleaners are for?! Its was more the delivery than the policy. I'm spending my money with the establishment I would expect to be treated kindly not rudely. I wasnt rude at all but then she comes up and acted like I was an idiot. I took in a custom made, quilted silk bed coverlet. It had a slight stain from what we thought might be a guest's perfume bottle. I took it to Penny Profit to be dry cleaned and when I brought it home and put it on the bed, we saw that the stain was still there. I took it back and asked that they at least spot clean it. This time we put it on the bed and it had shrunk horribly , lost all of the sheen and almost looked puckered. I honestly don't know how the coverlet could shrink as much as it did Without being thrown in a washing machine and hot dryer! The back of the coverlet was made with a sheet that did not shrink. They shrunk the silk top by almost a foot both in length and width! When I returned it to see if there was anything I could do, the manager Ahdmit(?), was not there. I had to go back three more times to catch him. When I did speak to him, he basically threw up his hands and said they were not responsible and there was nothing they would do. I was not even refunded the cost of the original dry cleaning! Avoid this place like the plague! I'm down more than $600 because of their ineptitude...and they don't care. read more
