Small inside with just 8 tables. 3 more picnic style tables out on the front patio, covered by the overhang. Inside, Looks like a nice cafe rather than a swanky restaurant. We met several servers and the manager. All were sincere, cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and happy to serve. Wife and I had 3 course dinners. Menu selection has some unique items. Tonight I tried the venison pâté dressed with a sparkling fresh salad, chutney and served with toast triangles. It was superb. I've eaten 100's of pate's in France, this Welsh one was at the top of the list. Don't know what got into my wife, as she did not order one of the more creative dishes as I would usually expect. She ordered the fish and chips. And she loved every morsel. Light batter, creamy fresh haddock, not oily at all. Arrived to table steamy hot. Potatoes were succulent, also not oily. Chef has a restrained hand with salt, true flavors shine. My pasta with a large hunk of salmon on top was also satisfying. The pasta had a light slightly creamy tomato sauce, which I usually abhor, yet this one tasted perfect with the grilled salmon fillet. Portion sizes are generous. I can eat gargantuan meals, though this one did not rate as that, there is plenty of food on the plate to satisfy a hungry man. Dessert: We shared the rhubarb trifle. Piquant and creamy almost beyond belief. A perfect finish. Drinks: one 50cl of whisky for me with a pint of Snowdonia beer, a glass of champagne for Bambie. All the items mentioned above billed up at £48. Well worth the price of admission. Highly recommended.

We took a seat at a long wooden table inside, decided what we wanted from the menu, and then went down to the bar to order our dinner and drinks. They do bring the food to you, but you order at the bar. I went with the mushroom ravioli and there were soooo many raviolis! Very tasty, and I love mushrooms, so it worked out well haha. Just a lot of food. If I lived here or visited again, I'd make my way back here again. We booked with it being Saturday night and along with a couple of pints from their range of 5 guest cask ales, chose the lasagne and pork loin for dinner. The food menu is traditional British pub food, but we had heard from friends who'd visited previously that all the food is made from the freshest ingredients and of great quality so it was quite hard making our decision as everything sounded so tasty. We made a great choice as both our meals were excellent and just about squeezed in a piece of sticky toffee pudding in (I could have squeezed 2 pieces in it was that good...) but just be aware that the kitchen stops serving food at 9pm so make sure you leave yourself time to order it from the bar if you have a sweet tooth! Having said that the food isn't all that bad and it remains popular as an eating place so they must be doing something right.
