I had to travel to Penrith from Preston for three consecutive days to attend a course. I have to highly praise the platform staff for their excellent customer service, especially on Wednesday 9th July. The young lady asked me what my reserved seat number was, told me where to stand and literally the door was right in front of me when the train arrived. All the staff greeted the passengers on arriving on the platform. One man helped an elderly gentleman with his cases and it genuinely was a pleasure to be on the station. It was also very clean and tidy with a lovely display on Platform 2. Other stations take note. You could learn a lot from the staff at Penrith. read more
