The worst experience I've ever had trying to get work done on my home. They outsourced my simple wall repair work to an older man who did more chainsmoking in my driveway (I had to pick up his cigarette butts each day so my toddler didn't pick them up) than he did work in my house. Plus he did the shoddiest work you'll ever see (see photos). It was nearly impossible to get him or Penrose to call me, tell me when they would come to work, or what their next steps were. Business owner seemed scattered and un organized. Tried to book an appointment and spent 15 minutes answering all kinds of questions for some database and finally booked an appointment a week out. The day of the appointment- no show. I called back and they were not able to find my information then started me on the Ferris wheel of asking me questions again. Then they called back and told me that they would offer some discount for the services. Which I assume means they would raise the prices 1st. I don't know what's going on but highly disorganized. Owner sounds like they are in the restaurant or clothing business ( anything but construction- not in roofing ) and they are taking info down for the 1st time on a CRM system. Would not recommend. In looking at the reviews before it sounds like this happens with the owner I would not trust business to work on my house let alone pay money for. read more

Just finished a major project using Penrose Construction. We had an existing exposed wood support beam under a roofline, in a vaulted living room with a 12' high ceiling completely removed and replaced due to massive termite damage and wood rot. They were on time and on budget. Nathan Anderson handled everything as my point of contact and he was always accessible and accountable. He is professional and manages an exceptional team. The day the beam was replaced I was amazed at how well the crew worked together and removed the existing beam and replaced it with a new glue lam beam. The beam jutted through the exterior wall so stucco had to be torn out and patched. The final product is better looking than the original! The project was not without any glitches, as most usually are not! However I am pleased with the results and the manner that issues were handled. Any concerns were quickly addressed and resolved to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to refer family and friends to this company and I would definitely use them again. read more

I dealt firsthand with Nathan Anderson. he is not a licensed contractor. he abandoned my project after 3 weeks. Left the house a mess and exposed to asbestos. Stay clear of this scammer. read more

We had a terrible time finding a good contractor to help us with our new home. Most contractors didn't respond, and when they did, they were lacking in knowledge and/or flakey. We were up against time when I found Penrose here on Yelp and they responded immediately. They were very professional, knowledgeable, skilled and communicative. I made an appointment to get an estimate and they didn't show up. Not even a call. Lost a 1/2 day of work waiting. If they are this bad before they even get the job, how bad are they going to be if I need service. UPDATE: A few hours after I did the review I received a call from .....Anderson??. He apologized and was very professional. They are going to set it straight and we will make another appointment. THIS is the type of company I want to deal with. So lucky these guys actually called me back. I was having trouble getting anyone to want to take my small drywall job. I thought my wall was warping from a bad patch/paint job and that I had gotten moisture in my wall, so wanted the drywall replaced. Nate actually picked up the phone and after sending him some picture,s actually let me know it looked like water damage. He was nice enough to come out and look at it and after almost a year of dealing with this frustration, he said he would fix my wall! Long story short, upon fixing my wall, they discovered it was a water leak, fixed my water leak, and even reinforced my wall with 2x6 to reinforce my drilling into the wall when I re-installed my wall mounts for our monitors. Mold had already made it's way onto the ground, wall, carpet, and so I'm so incredibly luckily it wasn't worse and that it was fixed when it was. Who knows when I would've found another person. The care and concern they had for the repair was above and beyond. These guys are super busy, so if you're lucky to get them, be assured they are going to give you an honest quote, along with a fair price. And they got the job done quickly. read more

I've been having trouble finding a reliable and punctual handy man. Nathan has defeated the odds, fit my in his busy schedule and showed up on time. I had multiple small projects that Nathan did flawlessly. He was also patient with me and assisted with installing my Bluetooth device. He was professional throughout the entire encounter. They finished the job quickly and were very happy with the outcome.
