Tucked into the small little village that is Pentrebach, stands tall and intimidating the labour club. A truly ugly looking building with an un-even car park, i was completely mortified my boyfriend was taking me here. Although, once inside with club prices and very funny regulars i thoroughly enjoyed myself. This club, is a man's club, make no doubt about that. With pool tables, dart boards and hordes of testosterone, i even contemplated farting and spitting on the floor after an hour and two pints. This pub opens for a quiet, and i mean quiet few hours in the afternoon and then opens at 6 for the motley crew that is the pool and dart teams to get slurring, throwing and potting. Pentrebach hosts quite a good few things throughout the year like rock concerts and themed nights. This week i'm off to see a Roy Orbison tribute act, slightly lame but mixed in with the characters of the place, the decent beer and the general nice atmosphere, i know i'll have a tip top time! Simon and June the managers are real salt of the earth people and truly lovely.
