I asked if I could use my debit card to fund my new account, like I have my last 2-3 accounts. The answer was YES, no problem! Yeah, no problem for them but for me or you, they ran my debit card as a cash advance instead of a debit card. No word of there may be fees or even telling me they was running it as a cash advance. Like I said I've opened my last 2-3 accounts at other banks with zero problem and 0 fees! But beings they ran it as a cash advance (like you would on a CC) I was charged a 3% cash advance fee by my bank! If I'd been told I'd known there was a 3% fee and would have stopped across 67 and withdrew the money for free! Instead now I'm out $90 and guess who don't care because some how I should have known that they run your card in a way that NO OTHER bank does!!! Really thought I wanted to switch to a smaller "Hometown" style bank but not if they do things completely fu$&@$@ ass backwards, than any other bank! So thanks for nothing, Tessa! BECAUSE I already have a mortgage with them, I cannot open a checking account. Hours on the phone with customer service and the result is "only by visiting a branch can you get cleared to open an account" For a senior citizen, living in assisted living without a car, visiting the branch is, to say the least, challenging. Chase touts their accessibility, but that is all talk and no action. I was told years ago, in business to "under promise and over deliver" Chase online banking does just the opposite. They overpromise and under-deliver.

This indicates a very healthy bank to me. I opened a third account this week. A new checking account in addition to the Money Market account I have and an IRA type Certificate of Deposit (CD). Because the lobby is closed currently and only available by appointment, I called for an appointment. To my surprise, they were able to open the account over the phone. The signature card and debit card were waiting for me in the drive-thru lane. And I received a free gift for opening the new account. An 89 piece household tool set in a carrying case. I also applied for and was approved for a credit card online. It was much more simpler than the last time I applied.

A MUST READ REVIEW!!!…read more My brother in-law past away in December 2020 and had checking accounts at the KeyBank in Martinsville, IN. My husband is the Administrator of his estate and KeyBank even fought him all the way. After thorough research of his accounts we found numerous occurrences of fraudulent activity. When KeyBank was notified all we got was the run around. The regional manager wouldn't even talk to us and the manager of the branch was the one that let the fraud occur. Eventually, all the branches were informed not to speak to my husband and especially myself. I tried everything to get them to communicate with me. We even filed complaints with the OCC which was a joke as well. We even sent a letter to the CEO which we found out went nowhere. The complaint finally reached the Executive team in January 2021 which is suppose to be the highest level at KeyBank. By looking at the fraudulent checks that were written on his accounts and even the signature card adding a signer, it was obvious that the signatures were forged. But all my persistence and claims have all been denied with KeyBank stating they followed procedures and since my brother in-law did not file a forgery claim (which he did try but the branch manager would not assist him) the forgeries are denied. As an Administrator for someone you are there to protect the deceased estate which is what my husband tried to do and KeyBank refused to let him. DO NOT BANK AT THIS INSTITUTION!!
