I was in desperate need of help yesterday. My car over headed while I was at walgreens and since I was out of my area I panicked. I saw that pepboys was about half a mile away and decided to try to get my truck into service. I got there and Bryan and the Area Manager made me feel at ease with the service. As it turns out My fan broke and hit the radiator making it leak. It was a pricy repair but they were able to assist me and helped me get back on the road. I appreciate their service and dedication to helping the customer. Not only for me but everyone that I got to see that day. GOOD job Pepboys. Biggest joke in Harlingen. Twice I have taken my truck there and they keep it overnight and when I call to see if the truck is complete they tell me they cannot do the job for some off the wall reason. Do not take your vehicle there prices are high and costumer service is ridiculously bad. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

I had the worst experience at your Harlingen, Texas store. On Saturday (5/22/2021) at 8am, I took my 2019 brown Chevy Silverado for the repair of a slow leak on one tire and the tires rotation, the man behind the counter suggested the tires be balanced because it was recommended so I agreed. At about 4pm I went by to see if my truck was ready and the confirmed so I paid and left to run some errands. I noticed that the digital air pressure reading on each tire was different and when I got home noticed that the tire with the slow leak was in the same place so they did not rotate my tires. I knew that because when they took my car and inspect it before taking my keys they marked the tire with a yellow pencil where the stem valve was at and that was the only tire they mark. I immediately called the store to report my concerns and the Assistant Manager asked me to take it back and they would rotate them and it would take 10 minutes. When I arrived the Assistant Manager took my keys and called a technician, 40 minutes later he took and customer car and gave me my keys and still the digital air tire reading on each tire was different and not once apologized for the inconvenience and I am certain they didn't balance any of my tires. I will never take any of my two vehicles to your store ever again. I feel cheated and angry about the entire experience. read more

I took my truck in because the serpentine belt was squeaking. Immediately, they said that they would have to change the belt and the tensioner. No problem. I waited over two hours before they took my truck in. It took them less than 20 minutes from start to finish, but they charged nearly $400 dollars! I'm sure that the parts didn't cost them more than $100 dollars and they couldn't of justified charging more than 1 hour of maintenance. Then, I had to take it back and have them redo it because it started squeaking again within a few days. So, I take my truck back, this time I had to wait more than 3 hours. They said that the belt was bad and changed it again. Days later and I'm back to a squeaky belt. read more

I always go do my oil changes here because they always give me the best price in town. They also Service my vehicle very quickly which is always a good thing when you are always on the go. They are also the best for tires because they carry a large inventory which means your car gets serviced the same day instead of waiting days with other businesses. I usually always deal with Anthony which always gives me excellent customer service and always answers all my questions. I was hesitant, I had a HORRIBLE experience with PB in Brownsville twenty-five years ago or so BUT due to limited options, knowledge, and time I decided to take a chance. Pleasantly surprised! Very nice staff. Helped me out (Bryan)! If I wasn't so knowledgeable about my vehicle, items recently replaced, and recent maintenance services, I MAY have been charged for additional items, but I wasn't. Took my car at in the morning for a quick oil change, took nearly 1 hour and 45 min! I was waiting in disbelief, there was only one other car there (went at 8:00am). I just asked for oil change and nothing more. Try to avoid if possible! To make matters worse, when I asked about the long wait time, the guy seemed to not care, and I was being respectful when I interacted with them! read more

So this is what happens when you take your car to pep boys in Harlingen. First they put the wrong size tires on car (not low pro) than when I wanted my old tires back on n a refund I get this, obvious damage from their tire machine rim was chipped and tire punctured. I took my truck in for a brake job. My appointment was at 8:00 a.m. and they got to it very quickly. Within an hour, I was informed that I needed front breaks immediately, but I would need rear breaks within a month or so. I decided to get all of the brakes done immediately. I also had a cracked head on one of my steering rods. Mine is a closed system, which means grease cannot be added. I asked for the total of doing the replacement/repairs as well as the brake job. I was satisfied with the estimate. They promised that the truck would be ready before 5:00 p.m. My truck was ready around 2:30 p.m. and the actual cost was exactly what the estimate was. I will continue to take my truck to Pep Boys as the need arises. read more

I got my tires changed here during one of their "buy three get one free" sales. They were exceptionally nice, efficient and even pointed out where another shop had installed my brakes poorly so that I could take a picture and hopefully get my money back. I'm back in Austin, but will go to my local Pep Boys for future work. read more

I went there today for a simple state inspection. When I drove up I was told that it would be 10 minutes and someone will be with me. As I sat there waiting, I watched 5 service men hovering around one car trying to change a battery. After someone was able to take my keys and do the inspection I was told to sit inside and wait. As I waited, I watched my van in the security camera, hardly being touched. Two hours later, the inspection was done. There were other people waiting in the service area waiting as well, two with simple oil changes. They waited over an hour. This is ridiculous service and i will never go back. I would never recommend them to my friends. read more

Had an apoiment at 2 pm.. arrive 5 min early.. 1 guy in the front desk or tire shop, taking for ever with another costumer, then after 1 hour wating, he is on the phone talking about sh*t with a friend, then when finally he ask me what I need, I told him i had my apoiment at 2 (Remember is 3pm now) and the guy goes like:'; ok let me check if we have your tires, he went back took like another 10-15 min. when he came back he told me that they don't have the tires (face palm) I made a freaking order online, I went to this particular stores because on webpage said they have that brand TODAY, I'm not from Harlingen, so I had to drove about an hour to get there, and the brand that they told me they had for today, they don't have it... mother fks...So Im in Harlingen now... and I went to midas tires, and they were really nice to me, they actually had tires I wanted, and they do the job in less then an hour... Please don't buy Pep Boys, go anywhere else, they have horrible service. read more

THese guys are great. Always recommend what is best for the customer. Not just trying to make a sale. Friendly a courteous staff!
