I've used Pepe for years. His work is always impeccable. I would trust him with absolutely any garment. If he says he can't do something, it's because he doesn't think it's going to come out perfectly. Also, he is so incredibly busy now because of his reputation, that he can't take every bit of work that comes his way. I understand that and I appreciate when he tells me that he's too busy to take it. He will sometimes recommend Maria's alterations which is around the corner. She will take absolutely anything but it may not necessarily be the best work. If you have something incredibly important that you want done, Pepe is the only one I would trust. read more

Fantastic! My mom went here after another tailor ruined a very expensive skirt she was planning to wear to my wedding. The other place ended up having to pay for replacing the skirt, but left my mom with a bigger size. Not only did she have to have it hemmed now (which is where they ruined it) but she had to have it taken in, too! She was so scared to have another tailor touch her outfit so close to the wedding! It turned out fantastic and she couldn't have looked more beautiful in her outfit! It fit her perfectly and you would never know she bought it 2 sizes too big!! So, I picked up my wedding dress and I am very happy! My dress was very big and heavy, needed the bustle done, and needed three inches taken in on the very detailed top. It took him two weeks to do everything but he only charged me $165.00. I think if I went anywhere else, they would have charged me 200-300. The only problem is that I noticed a black mark on the skirt towards the bottom back. But I didn't notice it while I was there so I can't really claim I know where it came from. Was reccomended to go here by Emily, a fellow "Yelper". And what a fantastic job they did!!! I needed them to take about 6 inches in length off of a 3-layer taffeta bridesmaid's dress. It turned out perfectly! At the last minute I asked if they could add a hook & eye to the top of the zipper for me. Rather then having me return, they did that in about 5 minutes!!! Very professional and quick! He also showed me that the original length of my dress was hemmed with glue. He reccomended for it to be sewn because hemming glue tends to go away after being dry cleaned a few times ( I had no idea that this happened and appreciated his expertise). I was so impressed that I sent my mom there to have about 5 dresses hemmed and taken in. He has a few dressing rooms, lots of legth size mirrors. He also makes custom suits for men. I've live in the valley for a couple of years now, I've used Pepe a number of times and my clothes always come back fitting great. I recently took in a pair of overalls to be tapered in on the legs and I when I say that were perfect I mean they were perfect. They ruined my wedding dress. I bought my dress at Signature bridal, off the rack. It fit perfectly but was too long. I'd heard good things about Pepe the Tailor so took it in there. I put it on and told them I wanted it to touch the ground and that I'd be wearing flats. They lady got out her safety pins and pinned all around it. My dress had no detailing on the bottom, was just a layer of satin and three layers of soft tule type material. Anyway, when I went back a week later, I went in and tried it on. It was 4-5 inches too short. The top most layer of tule was longer, ALMOST the length I'd asked for but the bottom satin piece was above my ankles. I just stood there and stared and the man (I'm assuming he's Pepe) came up and said it looks good? And I said no, it's way to short and my eyes started to well up. He got the lady back out and they started tugging on it and trying to pull it down. He said we'll fix it. So I left it there. When I came back the second time, the satin piece was longer, the same length as the outer tulle. At this point it was 3 days before my wedding. Yes I know it was last minute, but I never even mentioned that, he gave me the time it would be done and it worked. So 3 days before the wedding I just took the dress. I figured there wasn't going to be anything I could do, because I was leaving in a day since I got married out of town. He charged me $225. All of the pictures of me at my wedding, if I'm taking a step or some even just standing you can see my feet. It was a horrible experience and I'l telling everyone I know not to go here.
