Took a few minutes to figure out how it works - you order at the counter, he gives you a bucket with a number, cutlery and sauces, then you can take a seat - which by the way the night we were there were at a premium. Beer and wine available - take a tip, have a beer, the wine is served in a tumbler and a bit ordinary. The menu is as the name suggests - ribs and burgers. Lip-smackingly-good sounding ribs and burgers. We were both on a ribs mission, so although the burgers looked and smelt fantastic, pork ribs it was. These babies are the premium price, with beef and lamb also on offer and sides of fries, salads and wings all available. The ribs came pretty quick and they tasted wonderful. Like all ribs, they looked big on the plate, but I have to say I could have had two. The serving size is about half of Hurricanes, but in reality it is adequate. The fries are unreal - buy a plate, you won't regret it. All the food is served on enamel tin plates, also pretty funky and of course pretty much bullet proof. I would have to say next time I will be sure to order some wings to start, cos they look great and I could use the extra. Watching the folks around devor their burgers they also look pretty schmick - a few to choose from so it might take a few visits to get the range! And the good news is, I will definitely be back.

I wouldn't make a trip to Burwood just for Xquisito. Usually after shopping, if I'm hungry I prefer to stop here over other restaurants in the food court. I choose between one or two tacos depending on how hungry I am. It is not very filling, so doesn't substitute as a full dinner meal, but it is good for a quick bite. Service is efficient and fast, just the way a food court should be.

GYG has the best Grilled chicken burritos in Sydney, The best Nachos and salsa's in all of Australia. Their Crunchy Tacos are bomb, try them with shredded Pork, which tastes like shredded carnitas with some smoky chipotle added. As good as any I've had in LA & Mexico. Apparently all of their salsas are made fresh there, as is the Guacamole and Pico salsa. They have an outdoor patio with a great view of the old brewery in Chippendale, a Pool table, ping pong table and movies playing . It's across the street from UTS and on the next level up there was an Art exhibit featuring the Iconic Mambo brand. Pretty Awesome stuff!

The menu has potential, but I thought the food could use some fine tuning. The corn ($8) was simply burnt to get that charred Mexican-corn vibe, when it could have been caramalised first and then pushed from there. The chipotle spread on the side was fantastic. The pulled pork tacos (2 for $12) got most of their flavour from the Byron Bay hot sauces I was using, and not enough from the pork. The sauce for the chorizo & potato ($25) needed a bit more time to simmer and reduce, and again, relied way too much on the hot sauce we added for flavour. The jalapeños mentioned on the menu were undetectable. The chorizo itself was a bit bland, like the kind you'd buy at a grocery store instead of the kind you'd buy at a Spanish deli. If Frank and Blanco was in the city, I wouldn't go back. Since its now one the very few licensed restaurants on the main strip in Sutherland, and I walk by it every day after work, there's a pretty good chance I'll drop in once in awhile.

When the meal came out, we could not help but find it hilarious how tiny the portioning for it was... It was 3 prawns, 3 meatballs and 3 pieces of calamari on a side plate for $17. It tasted nice but it was honesty not worth it. We ordered pizza and pasta (fettuccine bascaiola) to share for our main and the serving girl continued giving us very immature service and extremely unwelcoming behaviour like not smiling and looking absolutely bored. The pizza was WAY under-done, the pasta bowl was.. Pretty shallow and the creamy fettuccine was mixed decently with the chicken they use for pizzas and they dumped mushrooms on top of it all so no mushroom was mixed in. The server finally offered us parmesan cheese for our pasta which was the only polite thing she did and she dumped it on the table and left. We finished our meal and left straight away. The man at the counter was very friendly, welcoming, funny and charismatic and asked if we enjoyed our food today. We didn't want to complain after eating a meal, so we paid and thanked him.

Glasses are forgotten, plates not changed, have to ask for clean serviettes, grated cheese, water etc. Mario's at Croydon has very good pastas & better pizzas, so they don't have a monopoly. Of course the venue is a lot better at Pappardelle. Am I being critical? No more than how I critique other places. If you are in the restaurant business good food is just one criteria, friendly and enthusiastic staff who are eager to please & interact will make your clients come back again & again.
