Man, was I happy to find Palestine RV Park! It's a fairly small park tucked away in the trees, with many long-term residents. However, they also cater to short term stays. I had my trailer there for four days. The sites are huge, with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Roads in and around the park are asphalt paved, but the sites are unpaved, and it's fine sand that gets in EVERYTHING, so be sure to bring some doormats or something. The park is quiet (park rules say that quiet hours are from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, lol) and pitch dark at night, but there are pole lamps at the sites that you can plug in and use if you need additional lighting. Angela, the owner, met me at the gate in her UTV and led me directly to my site, where she did the paperwork and payment, then offered to help me set up my trailer! There's a nice laundry and shower building near the entrance. The park has controlled access with keypads and a gate controller, and you can come and go as you please. Everyone I encountered there was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again! p.s. Be sure to look for Bigfoot when you're there! ;-)

Kudos to the owners, Jim & his wife (who live on site), for their vision. It's obvious they want to provide a quality establishment and I believe this will be accomplished in time. The weather was foul with all the rain, but spot #10 with full hook up was level with a good, hard base making it unnecessary for leveling jacks. It was literally park, hook up & relax. TGRR is a pet friendly place with a fenced in grassed area for off the leash running. The established rules for all pets provide considerate harmony between those who have pets and those of us who do not. The private bathrooms with shower are clean and have been nicely tiled. An industrial mat to step out on out of the shower and a hand dispenser at the sink for hand soap would be my only suggestion for consideration. After 12 hours on the road and a spontaneous decision, this was a great choice. We definitely appreciate the after hours check in and the owners' hospitality.

Everything is well worn but clean and comfortable. The bed was good enough. I really enjoyed all the pictures on the wall. Most of them had to do with native American's and their horses. It was as good a three night, mini-vaca as we could have hoped for. Did I tell you about the quiet? We were invigorated.

It has changed since my last visit over 15 years ago! There are now a staffed visitor center and very clean restrooms here now, as well as a very nice park atmosphere around the overlook! There are great photo ops and an old Forest service Firetower that will make a great photo as well! Makes a really nice little place to take a break from your drive
