Percy Priest Lake is a tranquil lake and a pretty cool place to come visit. It also has a dam. I parked over by the visitor center and parking was a little tight, but that is just because it was quite a few people there. Obviously, a lot of people like to come and hang out here and just enjoy the water. It was also cool when I left to drive over the bridge on one side the water is up significantly higher and then you look to the other side and there's this giant drop. Pretty cool. I am glad that I took a bit of time to come check this place out. Actually What drew me here was while I was driving I saw a sign for the lake and pulled in. I would definitely recommend a visit to this particular lake and I give it five stars. read more

There are so many things to do at the lake. One day while relaxing and enjoying the warm weather, I noticed so many activities going on. It was great!!! Check out the pics....... FAVORITE HIDDEN GEM (AND CLIFF JUMPING SPOT) IN NASHVILLE! So hidden that I had to dig through Reddit and YouTube to finally unearth the specific address/directions to this place because it wasn't posted anywhere online (am I a Nashville local yet???) *see below for directions* I've been to a few other cliff jumping spots in other states, but this one is by far THE BEST. The cliffs run all along the edge of the lake so there are multiple spots with varying heights that you can jump from. This allowed us to have our very own area to jump from, eat, chill, & swim in which made it SO much more enjoyable. The water was really deep and clean and had a slight current since there were several yachts/jet skis/sailboats cruising by. Also, there's a rope that you can pull yourself up with to get out of the water and right back onto the cliff which was quite a #struggle tbh. But it's SO fun and tranquil up here that I've been going every weekend ^_^ DIRECTIONS: Go to the Safe Harbor RV Resort which is about 5 or so mins away from the actual lake. The entrance fee is $8 but you can prob find free parking somewhere around the area. Once you pass the boom gate and drive all the way down to the parking lot, head toward the right and follow the trail which will take you all the way to the cliffs. It's a super easy 20 minute or so walk through the trees - no incline, tons of shade, and a great view of the lake the whole way. read more

We rented a pontoon from Nashville Shores Marina and spent a lazy day on the lake. It was calm and quiet for the most part (it was a Monday so the weekend warriors weren't out). We found a small cove out of the wind and hung out most of the day. It was tranquil and relaxing. We saw lots of wildlife on the shoreline - deer, cranes, turtles, etc. And , we were joined by two duck families. I would highly recommend it! read more

Horrible, so dirty the floors are slippery, I took damp white towel as my mother is 80 & I didn't want her to slip & I wiped with my foot an area of 2ftx2ft, the white cloth was black as black can be. there was dead bugs, mould in bath, not to mention bathroom doors cannot close, nothing to hold soap, our roam was not cleaned as there was cigarette smell & there was a butt & the ashes that comes off next to bed. there was a huge spider we in lamp, they do not clean in bathroom there is huge buildup of dust in mouldings. guck in disability holder so thick it's black & green!!!!! gross!! the area is totally insecure & horrible! 0 star! read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to go cliff jumping and this one was great. Jennifer C.'s review was super helpful for finding the location and we're so glad we tried it. The trail walks up around the lake side and to get to the cliffs we tracked it being about a mile out. The cliffs vary in heights the further you go and there is a rope to pull yourself up but it is a little sketchy so if you swim out a little further to the left after you jump there are some rocks that you can climb with less trouble. read more

I like that I can drive 15 minutes and come to a place where I can go swimming outside that isn't a pool. I have not had this luxury for a number of years and welcome back the fact that I can now do this again. It brings back childhood memories of going out on the water with my family. Percy Priest Lake (named after a politician) is very family friendly and offers the chance to swim, boating, and camping around it. It is in a residential area, but no houses are actually situated directly on the lake. Why does this matter? You do not have to worry about trespassing into someone's yard to get beach/lake access. It is regulated as a state park. To go in - there is a $5 per car fee. Camping is a separate fee, but I do not believe there is a fee to use your boat on the water other than what it costs to get in. The lake is exactly that - it's a lake, It is freshwater with fishing and other stuff that is inside a typical lake. If you're a clean freak, chances are this is not the place you want to find yourself swimming in. For me who likes to swim in these types of environments, it is a golden opportunity for me. It is a lovely place to visit and very serene. At the very minimum, enjoy the wild life. read more

Loved it here! We always spend about 30 minutes for our dogs to tire themselves out. They chase the ducks, but the ducks fly and are too fast. When and if my dogs ever get a duck, they will run away from it. Big scary monster until they have to face it lol. It's quiet here. Be sure to bring a mat if you're wanting to hang out, there's no picnic tables. Only trash bins. The water was neat, there's lots of rock. It was coooooooold! read more

I LOVE going to Percy Priest! They have everything; boat rentals to hiking/biking trails, waterfront access, fishing, cabin rentals, etc. Great fun for adults, kids, and furbabies; yet, it's still peaceful. read more

Beautiful little park with access to a warm large lake. There's not much to swim in but a few rocky areas but the water so warm and beautiful it's good enough. Dog friendly And lots of area to picnic. They also have visitor center and clean bathroom. read more

This was my little utopia for 3 days. I was on a road trip and it was supposed to rain everywhere I was going. So I audibled and headed to Nashville where it was mid 80s for 3 days. There I found this beautiful little lake where I was able to get in my open water swimming and just relax on the beach afterwards. Granted this was during the week and early in the spring, so it might get crazy busy during the summer, but for me during this period, this was heaven.
