They're brought in from another store. Because of this, the bagels are stale. The bagels are stored on the counter beside the cash register in open wire baskets. No protection of any kind from coughing/sneezing. At the height of cold/flu/Strep/RSV (and whatever remnants of COVID are still floating around) season. I don't see how the place passed a health/code inspection (if one was done). I asked for chocolate chip bagels, toasted, with butter. "We don't have chocolate chip, Sir" Ok, cinnamon/raisin, toasted, with butter. "We don't have butter, Sir" The lady rang up my order. The price was double what I pay at the closest Einstein Bagels, where I eat at least once a week. By now, I was beginning to wonder if maybe I was on Impractical Jokers. To my immense disappointment, I wasn't. Summary: unsafe food handing practices; stale bagels; no bagel selection, no butter, double the price I pay at my regular Einstein's.

Now, i am not sure why you ise such a horrible, cheap and strong scented cleaner, but i plan to expose this and test my sandwich at the health department. Im calling everyone that i think can help. I could even smell on the coffee cup. Now, moving forward, this has happened to me for the past year and i plan on making sure everyone knows.

I also love that little platter of pickles and green tomatoes they give you here. So great to just snack on them or add them to your sandwich. They give you plenty to do both. You'll pay a bit more here than an average sandwich shop, but the food quality, nice dining room and friendly service make it all worth it.
