I strongly caution consumers considering Perfectly Fast Moving LLC for an interstate move.
Perfectly Fast Moving was the carrier assigned to transport my belongings from New York to North Carolina after I booked my move through Northern Moving Systems.
My experience raised serious concerns from pickup through delivery.
The movers arrived approximately four hours late, and initially only one mover was present. I actually had to assist with aspects of my own move because of the inadequate staffing.
The most troubling pricing issue occurred after the move was already substantially underway. Approximately 75% of the truck had already been loaded with my belongings before Perfectly Fast Moving electronically presented me with its revised contract/estimate.
The company's own document states that the estimate should be signed before moving services begin and specifically says not to sign it if truck loading has begun. Nevertheless, most of my property had already been loaded before I received the revised document electronically.
Their paperwork increased the estimate and identified an additional 60 cubic feet consisting of six plastic bins, two chairs, and three bags.
I was also extremely concerned to learn that moving labor was being recruited through Craigslist. My concern is not simply where workers are recruited. Consumers entrust movers with access to their homes and thousands of dollars of personal property, and I believe customers deserve transparency regarding the screening, training, supervision, and background-checking procedures used for individuals handling their belongings.
The problems continued at delivery. The driver arrived approximately one to two hours before the additional movers. There was also a significant communication barrier that made communicating about the delivery unnecessarily difficult.
The crew did not appear to have adequate moving blankets, dollies, hand trucks, or other basic professional moving equipment. Fortunately, my apartment building had hotel-style luggage carts. The movers relied upon my building's carts to transport my belongings into my apartment.
Most importantly, numerous belongings arrived damaged or destroyed.
The company's own household-goods inventory included spaces for documenting the condition of property at origin, yet those fields on my inventory were blank.
I have retained photographs of the damaged property, contracts, estimates, payment records, communications, and other documentation.
Based upon my experience with the staffing, revised pricing process, handling of my property, equipment available at delivery, communication, and resulting damage, I cannot recommend Perfectly Fast Moving LLC. read more
