New review from Nov 2019:…read more This is my second visit here and far more disappointing. The reason is the waiter/owner was grumpy and when I asked for a takeaway box for the moyin moyin he actually scowled! Wow. The moyin moyin is quite flavourful but the jollof rice is a real disappointment. I've had far better in Ghana. Two years ago: I popped into here for lunch around 1:30pm today and whilst the owner could have been friendlier in greeting me (a smile doesn't hurt ya know), I appreciated him coming outside the restaurant to hand me my takeaway food where I had waited in the lovely sun for my order. The interior is quite small with only a couple of tables with lovely African sculptures all around. There is chalkboard of specials along with the regular menu. Sadly the sweet potato balls were sold out so I got the moin moin and the spinach stew. All together less than a tenner. There are four pieces of moin moin, which are just deliciously savoury. I recommend eating them with the nonspicy spinach stew with melon seed, which, whilst not delicious, was tasty and filling. It would be perfect on a cold winter night. If I was in the area, I would return just for the moin moin!

Did make me cough quite a bit however you get used to it after a few minutes. Menu had a vast range of alternative meat for those adventurous enough to try! This place sounded so good! I found it via Tastecard because they offer (at time of review) a 50%…read morediscount - even for large groups - which is pretty awesome. My beef with this place (excuse the pun) was the terrible service. I had initially booked for 10, but on the day called to see if we could reduce the number and arrive a bit earlier. The man on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived the waiter obviously hadn't been told because he was quite confused how to deal with our smaller group arriving early. I'll point out now that we went on a Sunday night and the place was at about 50% capacity. While we waited for a friend to arrive we decided to get starters and drinks. The bottle of wine arrived open, which is not ideal but not a major issue. The starters/sides were quite average. We shared them between us but there was no offer of plates so sharing them got messy very quickly. After we'd finished our starters the waiter asks if we could order our mains. We asked for a few minutes to check on our friend because she was due to arrive any minute, but just a minute later he's asking again because of something to do with how the kitchen organises itself. Remember, it's a Sunday and they were not busy. Thankfully my friend walked through the door at that precise moment. The saving grace of this restaurant is the wide selection of exotic meats. There are the safe options of beef and chicken or you can try wild boar, water buffalo, springbok, crocodile and more. My late friend quickly chose but at this point the waiter had almost lost attention and it was quite difficult to get him to come over (not for the first time). All mains come on a hot stone with chips and salad. The plates are very big and because he'd put 5 on us on a table for 4 we did struggle to fit them on. I like the idea of the hot stone but it is a low-effort meal for the kitchen who only need to cook chips and heat the stone. For this reason I cannot fathom why the waiter was pressuring us into ordering our mains befroe our final diner had arrived. On the plus side, my water buffalo was good, but since I was the one cooking it I'm not sure how much credit they deserve. The Tastecard discount made it worthwhile, however, everything but the meat was average at best and the service was appalling.

It can taste very different from place to place but I ate at two Enish locations in London and was not disappointed. If I lived there I would visit them for this soup daily. It was so good. Their suya and goat pepper soup was also heaven. Already recommended to friends and family visiting London. Looking for to my return just to experience their food again.

The food was absolutely amazing 10/10 but the only thing that threw me off a bit and made me a little uncomfortable was the customer service. Maybe it's just because I'm an American and the culture there is different because I have noticed it with a lot of restaurants in the UK, but the servers/workers are not too friendly whether the store is busy or not and everyone we tried speaking to, to get an understanding of how to order at the restaurant (since it was our first time here) kind of gave us attitude or acted like it was so annoying to ask simple questions?? Our food ended up taking more time to get ready because we didn't understand the whole call, bill, and cancel method of ordering which we tried to ask but didn't get an answer straight away. The person who finally addressed it was kinda rude about it.. Anyways, the decor inside the restaurant was really nice and it truly does give an upscale sort of vibe which is cool, but I feel like in the near future I'd prefer to just order for carry out rather than sitting inside the specific location we went to just because the food is so good but the customer service just was not it. However I've heard that different locations sometimes have better customer service so.. ‍
