Stopped by on a Sunday right after opening. Note: do not bring your motorcycle here. The driveway and parking lot is deep/loose gravel. Wine tasting was good. 2 tasting menus available. We did the premium - 11 samples for $12. Overall property and tasting room very nice. Recommended

This wine is the Petit Verdot one of my favorites.

I had an amazing relaxed time with the husband. The ambiance is superb. We loved all the wine we tasted and had a few favorites. Love forward to my next visit.

Named for the town of Périgueux in Aquitaine, renowned for its goose liver foie, Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery is a lovely little winery. (Sidebar: when I asked the tasting guide if the emblem for "Peri-go" was a duck or goose, he told me it was a goose and corrected my pronunciation: "It's 'Peri-GOO'," he said. Actually, sir, the town in France is Peri-GOO, but the bastardization chosen for this winery would be pronounced Peri-GO by any Frenchman. Just sayin'.). The setting is quite pretty, nestled back off of Route 4, on 30 acres of reclaimed farm land. And the tasting room -- beautifully converted from a tiny two-bedroom tenant shack -- successfully captures a rustic but classy French farmhouse feeling. Our tasting guide was nice (he never introduced himself, so I didn't get his name), but seemed less than knowledgeable about the wines in which Perigeaux specializes. Like, when I asked him about the residual sugar content in the Riesling, he said, "Hmm, I'm not sure. I'd guess like, 13...14 percent?" I'm no wine expert, asking about residual sugars is a pretty basic tasting question, and even I could guess that there was *no way* that semi-sweet white had 13% r.s. Maybe it's because the Maryland wine industry is even younger than the Virgina wine industry and hasn't quite found its footing yet; maybe it's because the glasses imparted an odd odor to the wines' bouquets; maybe it's because many of the wines are made from juices imported from other countries; but I wasn't overly impressed by the standard wines we sampled at Perigeaux, from Merlot to Chardonnay. Their dessert and specialty wines -- made from imported grape juice -- were just okay, tho I particularly liked the light, refreshing 2007 Pinot Gris Blush. But my favorite wines were the Mackall Road line of semi-organic, sulfite-free table wines, especially a full-bodied, peppery 2008 Merlot. A pretty setting and tasting room overlooking their ten acres of vines, plus a reasonable $5 tasting fee for nine wines make Perigeaux an A-OK stop if you happen to find yourself on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Just don't expect world class wines with your view.

Beautiful Vineyard on sprawling estate overlooking the river and farm country dotted with large trees and ample shade! All the wines are made with estate-grown (on premise) grapes that you drive past as you come down the road to the parking area. There's a small windowed cottage that acts as a tasting room with a uncovered wrap-around porch. The atmosphere is what one has come to expect when visiting a winery or vineyard, classy, warm, clean, and inviting with plenty of tables and chairs to relax and chat while enjoying a glass of wine. The wines themselves are all on the dryer side, medium-bodied to bigger reds with lots of flavor and bountiful bouquets. If you happen to taste a wine that seems a bit strange, don't be afraid to ask your taster to verify what you are tasting is what you are suppose to be tasting... when I came most of the wines on the tasting bar were older and well on their way to oxidation but Olivia was beyond accommodating and opened new bottles to ensure my tasting was fresh! What a difference it made, it transformed what could have been a horrible experience into one I thoroughly enjoyed. The one is a bit expensive for what it is in my own opinion but you can tell the winemakers take pride in what they do, plus it needs to be remembered this more a boutique vineyard than anything else, small-batch quantities, specialized and again estate-grown, they do everything themselves! Olivia was informative and friendly, she makes you feel like a long-lost friend. OH! They are extremely dog-friendly too!

Very quaint and private tasting room. Daniella was an excellent hostess and took great care of our party. The grounds are beautiful and although we did not take the tour, there is a lot to see. They offer a full range of white and red wines, as well as several blends. My favorite was the Muscato Sweet Wine.

I came here for a tasting on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend. It's a nice sized venue. It's unfortunate that it was cold and rainy that day. The outdoor area is lovely!! Georgina (I think that's what her name is) was awesome during our experience. She was knowledgeable, personable and friendly. They have some really delicious wines. I'd definitely recommend the Mackall Road Cabernet Sauvignon and the Summer Sunset. I'd definitely come back here when the weather get warmer to experience what they offer.

Was here on a whim for a tasting. Service was excellent. Live musician was really good. Wine is average but I did manage to find a red that I liked. Atmosphere is excellent for a quiet evening with your special someone. Staff is very knowledgable about their wines.

The wines are ok, a bit on the expensive side. The only wine I was willing to buy was Cardinal, a light bodied sweet red. The staff was very knowledgeable and the site is beautiful. They were setting up for an event.

While the event space itself is beautiful, my experience with the staff and catering was extremely disappointing. From start to finish, the event staff were unprofessional and rude to my guests. Several guests were told they could only have one plate despite us paying for an open buffet, which caused embarrassment. One catering staff member even pushed my mother and maintained a negative attitude throughout the event. I also became ill after eating the turkey meatballs we ordered. I do not eat beef, yet the food appeared to contain beef, causing severe stomach discomfort for me. Interestingly, my guests did not have any issues, which suggests there may have been a mistake in the preparation. I brought these concerns to the attention of the event coordinator, who I believe is the owner, Carla, but the staff's behavior was excused rather than addressed. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful space, I cannot recommend Grace Event Center due to the unprofessionalism of the staff and catering issues. I would suggest considering other venues to avoid a similar experience.

We felt so welcomed. When we drove up that little Mansion we could not believe our Eyes. Directly on the water in a magical setting...something we will never forget and definitely will revisit! We were greeted and got a tour that justified its history. We did have perfect weather conditions, so when we came back from dinner, we enjoyed ourselves for a little walk around the gardens and lake. The view from our balcony was stunning...you really have to pinch yourself...just making sure you're not dreaming...it made us feel happy as can be. The next morning...David prepared a beautiful spread of breakfast. Crab &Swiss cheese omelette, roasted Yukon potato, turkey bacon, country sausage, the bread basket had lavish varieties and customed as well towards my girl who has celiac disease with gluten free options, Room tempered butter, I think even the raspberry marmalade was homemade, fresh berries...I mean nothing was missing and it was put together with such care. Since we were the first of the season...David was able to join us. What a great morning we had thanks to him...thank you so very much!! A must see venue, that is highly recommended!

Absolutely Unforgettable Stay -- A True Hidden Gem!…read more Stop looking and book it -- seriously! This hidden gem is truly a take-my-money kind of place. With a snowstorm just having passed and a last-minute plan to celebrate my daughter's 22nd birthday, we were so lucky to come across this beautiful home. Although we're a big family, this trip was just five of us -- and wow, there was more than enough space. In fact, I've already started planning future bookings because this will definitely be our yearly getaway spot. The views are stunning, and the home feels exactly like that -- a home -- with a modern touch that makes everything feel fresh, comfortable, and welcoming. The location was also very easy to find, which made arrival stress-free. Everything you need for your stay is thoughtfully provided. The house is HUGE, but not in a cold or empty way. As soon as you walk in, it unfolds like a story -- you can truly feel the love, care, and appreciation that's been poured into this place over time. There are multiple sitting areas, plenty of space for gatherings, and so many little touches that make it special. The host went above and beyond. They were incredibly accommodating and even answered a question for us at 1 a.m. -- something I fully expected to wait until morning. That level of care says everything. This host genuinely takes the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable and well taken care of. We visited in the winter with lots of snow, and it was magical. The Chesapeake had frozen, and we were actually able to skate on it safely -- an experience I'll never forget at 43, and one my children will always remember too. I can already imagine how amazing this place must be in the spring and summer with fishing, swimming, and endless outdoor activities. No matter the season, this is an incredible place to stay. The balcony views alone are breathtaking -- and if you're a photographer, this spot is a dream. Thank you for helping us create such beautiful memories. We'll definitely be back!
