Plenty of parking space. The sunsets are gorgeous here. I photographed a wedding at Woodlawn Farm a while back, and I could see how much everybody was enjoying the venue and how much fun they were having. Highly recommended to anybody looking to celebrate your special occasion!

OK. The place is OK. We stayed in the Magnolia cottage. "Magnolia is our romantic get away…read morecottage. Set off by itself" = false. Magnolia is a toolshed on the central patio. The door to the building doesn't lock or close very well. Don't expect any privacy. When the wind blows the door open, the wine drinkers at the little tables all look right in the door at the side of the bed. The building has no furniture, except a bed and a lecture stand with a slanted top. No night tables or a TV or a mini-fridge. Probably got stolen when the door quit closing all the way. Breakfast has changed from some of the reviews posted here. We were offered a couple of danishes and pastries, cut in half and some fruit and store-bought granola. Jim announced that the coffee was gone at 9:30 and he had no plans for making any more. "Whoever needs it the most can have the last little drop!" I don't know if they lost their food service license or just quit bothering to live up to the "Breakfast" part of their name. The rocking chairs on the lawn ARE lovely and have a peaceful view of the river. Until about 2:30 when the tourists show up with their fast food and spend the day drinking wine. So we went into Leonardtown which is about 45 minutes away and looks like it was deserted when PAX River AFB downsized. Don't bother with the Point Lookout lighthouse either - there's a big chain link fence around it. If you are looking for someplace to eat your roadside lunch while enjoying a free wine tasting, Woodlawn has it all. If you're looking for a romantic weekend for two - stay home.

When I arrived I went straight to my room and dropped off my luggage then roamed around the property. I felt extremely safe at that moment and for the rest of my stay. The property from the moment we turned onto the driveway was breath taking. I sat on the porch waiting for my friend to arrive. Upon her arrival she was also impressed and so happy we chose to stay here. The rooms were great. I was at Cobb Island. Roomy bathroom, air conditioner window unit, ceiling fan, large windows, comfortable bedding and a curtain to draw in front of the door for added privacy. My friend stayed in the Rogue Island suite. There was no air conditioner in the room but two fans available. The sun comes shining into that room heavily in the morning. Nice view of the water. Bathroom is a little small, but perfect for one. The room itself is perfect for one, maybe two if it's a short stay. My friends words on her stay: "The room was smaller, but comfortable and perfect if we weren't planning on spending too much time. It wasn't too small, just smaller -perfect for a single occupancy. The grounds were gorgeous and I appreciated the hands off approach. The company in the morning was lovely. I loved all of the different amenities and areas of the house we had access to to suit our needs. Breakfast in the morning was simple and perfect. The first morning was this amazing quiche.... Hoping to get that recipe to add to my cookbook, sliced strawberries and coffee. The second morning was a scrumptious banana bread, sliced strawberries and a simply seasoned fried egg. It was all delightful. You have access to the kitchen whenever you want. We brought lunch back and ate it outside. There is a fire pit out back you can use. Some notes: there are some fine tuning things that could be taken care of by a grounds keeper or anyone else. Trimming back the foliage going down to the dock, spraying for bees in the white covered "shed" near the water, clearing leaves from the pool, replacing burnt light bulbs and a major dusting inside and outside, especially outside on all the porches. Otherwise it was very clean. In the end we enjoyed our stay and look forward to stay again!! I'm easy to book again.

To get to Smith Island you need a ferry from the town of Crisfield. Would recommend the Island Belle II. A good size boat where you won't feel the waves too much. Once on the island only a few restaurants were open. Most were closed by 4pm. We made sure to purchase everything we would need to cook and drink before boarding the ferry. Staying in this gorgeous and serene house definitely elevated our small girl's trip. The house is newly renovated and tastefully decorated. We found it super clean with all the amenities we would need for making coffee, cooking/baking, washing our clothes. There were bikes available to peruse the island. There were 4 bedrooms total each nicely decorated with their own bathrooms. One of the bedrooms upstairs was a master suite with its own private bath and personal balcony. The bedrooms were all cozy and comfortable. The biggest draw for me was the wraparound porch on the 1st and 2nd floor gifting us with beautiful views of Chesapeake Bay as well as sunsets. Betty Tyler, the owner, was very personable and would answer our questions. She facilitated the delivery of steamed crabs one night for our dinner. Overall, a perfect location if you need a quarantine getaway on the East coast.

Total relaxation with every detail taken care of. First the husband/wife innkeepers Shawn and Steve were amazing and cared so much that we had a wonderful stay. We had my elderly parents w us in their ground floor room called the "Islandscape"and we had one of the main house "Narada" room. The view and location were fantastic. The breakfasts were special 3 course including fresh fruit and something sweet and savory. The baked goods every day by Shawn showed her love and talent for baking--even a goodie bag at our departure. If I lived closer, I would come more often! There's a game room, binoculars, hot chocolate w mini marshmallows, beautiful sitting areas to enjoy the view throughout the property including the front porch where we hung out after dinner. The restaurant right across the street about a stone's throw away at Charles Street served tapas and seafood w live jazz in a Sat night. We also tried Bugeye Grill another night and they were fantastic too. Never really had to get back in the car as you can walk just a few blocks up to the main part of town w a few shops and restaurants. Right next door is an outdoor salty tiki bar that looks fun when it warms up more. I could go on and on. Oh, and Calvert Cliffs park is only 10 min away by car where you can find shark teeth and fossils, which we did! Soo much better than a hotel or airbnb!

I was warmly welcomed by the innkeepers Mona, Violet and Aurora, and received a tour of the beautiful historic building. The rooms were all beautiful with meticulous attention to detail, and I was in love with the dining room and everything served in it. I am a great lover of tea, and there were dozens of varieties to try, both loose leaf and in bags. Sweet snacks to go with the tea were homemade and delicious, and the breakfasts were out of this world. The first morning we had homemade oatmeal molasses bread French toast bundt cakes served with fresh fruit and real maple syrup (a must for my fussy palate), then the next day homemade granola parfaits were followed by sweet and savory aebleskiver (Google it, it's amazing). The location of the B&B is great - away from the crazy shore traffic, but still close to beaches like Ocean City, MD and Assateague and Chincoteague Islands. The first night we dined at the local Pocomoke City restaurant, which was delicious. The second day we saw the ponies and enjoyed the beach at Assateague Island, followed by amazing homemade ice cream in the nearby town of Berlin, and we ended it at a local bluegrass festival in Furnace Town. There was never a dull moment. All in all, this B&B is top notch and I have definite plans to go again, next time with my husband!
