I did a search here and decided to give Little Guy a try. He was able to diagnose the problem but that particular unit had to be replaced unfortunately. Ever since he did that it's been working great and even better than the previous unit. Then, about three months ago, the unit started opening arbitrarily after it had closed around every fifth try. Most odd. This went on and on until I finally decided to call Little Guy again. He showed up on a Saturday even though I stressed this was not an emergency of any type. He made a few adjustments and it is back to working grades again. Little Guy really knows what he's doing when it comes to garage door openers and that's what makes him so helpful... and he's really not that little.

In addition to that expense, we would have had to add the painted wooden detail and ironwork to re-conform to our HOA's standards. The 4th company, Gray Wolf, quoted $350 right from the beginning, and even as I pointed out all the damage that we had discovered during the three other quotes, they stayed ar $350. They even threw in a new rubber seal for the bottom of the door for $40. Another company had quoted $270 for this piece. The technician, Eric, was educational, friendly and conscientious. He worked for 4 hours and charged us $400. The door is working perfectly. Thank you to Gray Wolf and owner Michael. They had a 5-star rating and that is what they will receive from us. Another tip: he said that with double doors, it is advisable to have an annual inspection, for a small fee, from a reputable company. We shall be using Gray Wolfagain!
