My garage door puller was grinding when I open the door. The door pully on the right side lost tension, cable unwounded off the pulley, two rollers jumped the track. The door looks so bad because it was unlevel and I had to push the door up to get my truck out. My car was parked in the driveway. This was Thursday night at 6:00pm. I researched online the service companies near Chamblee. I choose, Liberty garage services, scheduled an appointment for 9:30am Friday. The tech arrived at 9:15am. He explained what will need to be done and gave me a good estimate. He fixed, adjusted and leveled door in 1 hr. Very professional. He did a great job and greased the cable also. Garage door fell off the rollers and a hinge popped out and it almost hit a car. I propped a 2x4x8 under it on Christmas night and prayed. The company from whom I bought the doors (that red ribbon company) several years ago installed bottom seals that were more than 4 inches too short, allowing water to enter during rains. Mike did a fantastic job replacing the too-short seals, charged a much more competitive price, and was a pleasure to work with. The red ribbon guys left me with a bad impression having made 18 failed attempts to find a stud during a later installation. Liberty has smarter, better-trained technicians who are courteous and whom I trust and highly recommend. (BTW, the red ribbon guys never mentioned the 18 holes in my new sheetrock. Honest hard working group of installers. Very price competitive company. My doors were special order due to size. I was told it would be 2 weeks for doors to arrive and another 2 weeks to get on the schedule. Liberty received the doors as expected in 2 weeks but came out almost immediately to install. I had Chevy and Justin install doors on my home garage/shop. It was a big job handling 10' high doors with 16' ceilings. They worked professionally and steady all day. They stayed positive and finished around 8pm. Doors look great and work smoothly. They cleaned up the work area then reviewed the operation of the doors with my commercial openers. If you are looking to pay $180 for a garage opener installation and then get to do it yourself then you should hire Liberty Garage Doors! I hired Liberty to install a garage opener I got from Home Depot. I could have done it myself but I was being lazy and elected to pay so I did not have to worry about it. Well it did not turn out that way. The technician came out and was pretty quick to install the unit. I noticed right away that one of the lights did not turn on. I mentioned it to him. He said "i am not sure about these newer models." I assumed that perhaps the app would let me turn on that other side. Nope! Turns out the system is damaged. I contacted Liberty because of course not only did the light not work but the cables for the sensors that the technician installed were all exposed. No electrical tape. Just sloppy. Anyway, he added the tape and I told him about the light. This time he said well sometimes the units are damaged and there is no way to fix it. So I asked him why not test it before installing it. He said that would not have worked. Long story short he called the office to tell them what happened. They recommended that I get another unit from HD and they would replace the motor for another $75! I talked to the office guy who said he would try and call the manufacturer to see if they would pay for that. Never heard from him. I am now $180 poorer and I am having to uninstall Liberty's sloppy work and put in a new unit. They will claim that it was a customer provided unit so they cannot be responsible for it to work. And I can see that to an extent. My issue is that they installed a system that did not operate and after I pointed it out the technician acted like he did not know when in fact he did. This company does not care about customer service! I will never do business with them again. read more
