My Scripps PCP recommended Sharp, and his advice has been golden in the past. Upon acceptance of my application, Sharps sent me their gold-hued ID card and a passel of information of coverages and services. That helped ease my nerves about obtaining new health coverage. I immediately signed up on their patient portal, but was unable to actually use it until my insurance kicked in on Jan 1. I signed up for the Chula Vista Internal Medicine location at 754 Medical Center Court. So far, so good with Sharp. I was able to see a doctor within three days of requesting a visit. No, it wasn't the doctor I signed up for (Dr. David Hansen, based upon his outstanding Yelp reviews, of course), but that's OK. It was my first visit, and I submitted lot of information and received a vital signs examination. I received two referrals which I requested, and was authorized for a full blood panel. The doctor I saw was Dr. Marco Martinez. He was very pleasant and even patient while collecting my information and entering it into the health care system records. He suggested a very convenient location for the blood draw. I was concerned about transferring my prescriptions, but was informed that I need not change my prescription mail order service. Yay ! The Sharp patient portal does not seem nearly as intuitive as the Scripps portal. This perhaps because I learned how to navigate the Scripps portal, and am still learning the Sharps. That said, the two referrals I was granted do not show up on my portal page. I called the doctor's office, but they had no answer, and promised to query the doctor via message. Not yet resolved. Every interaction so far with Sharp staff personally or telephonically has been quite pleasant, and certainly on a par with Scripps. What the future holds will be discussed in Updates.

He is such a great doctor - super nice and very thorough with the few concerns I did have. Because of him my physicals are quick and easy, which is very alleviating when I see doctors as a patient! I've also gone here once on a non-physical appointment. On that appointment I saw Dr. Tran. He addressed my concerns to my satisfaction and his prescriptions helped me get a lot better. The support staff from the check-in desk to the RNs and even the lab staff are super friendly. Whenever I go here they ensure that my visit is hassle-free. I also have good medical insurance so no surprise bills to come out of here. PS: My only concern is that Scripps doesn't have an urgent care location south of the 52. I know that as of my last visit they were promoting HealthExpress so at least there's an option there but it just sucks that I would have to drive the equivalent distance of going to work just to be seen.

The doctor had never looked at the ct results and had to ask the assistant to get them. Why are we even there?! After dealing with referral issues for 2 weeks for a CT scan I called for a 4th time to tell them they had the referral wrong (first time it was the wrong fax, second time the order was incomplete, 3rd time they sent it to the wrong fax again (AFTER I GAVE THEM THE CORRECT NUMBER), 4th time to tell them the order was wrong AGAIN and that my mom would not be going there again. None of the staff that answer phones tell you their names, I asked the person dealing with the referral what her name was, her name is Juleny (from what I understood). After I told her he would not be going there and their service is horrible she hung up on me. I wasn't rude or anything and I was being very patient since my mom needs these appointments.

Frustrating Experience with Dr. Martha E. Lozano, MD - Avoid This Doctor!…read more I visited Dr. Martha E. Lozano, MD, to get a new CPAP machine after my old one started failing. I had been struggling for nearly a year to obtain a replacement due to insurance complications and provider changes. Initially, I went to Scripps Green, where they promised to rush my order, but my insurance denied it after Scripps Green opted out of my medical group. I then attempted to go through UCSD Medical, where I was originally diagnosed with sleep apnea, but they were fully booked for six months. After several failed attempts and even switching primary doctors--only to find out my original doctor could have placed the order--I was finally referred to Dr. Lozano. I was relieved to secure an appointment within two weeks. However, my initial visit was disappointing. Despite arriving early for paperwork, I waited over an hour before being seen. When I explained my urgent need for a CPAP machine, Dr. Lozano assured me she would rush the order, and I should receive it within two weeks. However, she insisted I needed a new sleep study--despite my existing diagnosis and previous study, which should have been sufficient. This was completely unnecessary and seemed like a tactic to bill my insurance for additional tests. Desperate to move forward, I reluctantly agreed. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. A week passed with no updates, so I called the office. After being placed on hold for ten minutes, I hung up and tried again--only to face the same issue. I then contacted my insurance, who attempted to reach the office as well. Despite multiple follow-ups, I never received a return call. One month passed. Then two months. Still, nothing. This experience was beyond frustrating. Instead of receiving timely care, I was met with delays, poor communication, and unnecessary hurdles. Doctors like this should have their license taken away! She ran unnecessary tests just to bill the insurance company--this is unacceptable! Please file a complaint against doctors like this! During my initial consultation, I was quoted a specific price for the service. The very next day, I was told the consultant had underquoted me, requiring an additional payment. I paid $1,200 while my wife contributed $1,800 to proceed. They urged that we pay the additional $1,800 as this price could not be guaranteed in the future. They assured me that one of LaserAway locations in Los Angeles has one of the Kardashians as a customer (hook). Unfortunately, the procedure delivered no visible results at all--please let me make sure I stress that point: NO VISIBLE RESULTS at all! Despite my being assured of noticeable improvement immediately. And that this was just beginning my "journey" to rid myself of smile lines. When I followed up, manager Tamara assured me of a full refund. She promptly returned my wife's $1,800, but my $1,200 was not refunded. Tamara said regional director Monica would call me, but it took nearly five days to hear back (line). Instead of resolving the refund, Monica suggested I return and purchase additional treatment units to "fix" the issue. This was disappointing, as I expected them to simply correct their mistake rather than encourage more spending. Also, they offered me some type of face scrub or rather. Frustrated and Disappointed After Years of Loyalty…read more I've been going to this clinic for years, and the quality of care has seriously declined. This is now the second time they've failed to submit my prescription--something that directly affects my health. Meanwhile, they're quick to take your copay and will cancel your appointment without hesitation if your insurance isn't perfectly in order. They'll call you to schedule a follow-up after bloodwork, but while still on the phone, they're checking your insurance coverage--like your care is secondary to your billing status. It's clear that money comes first. Worse, I've only seen my assigned doctor twice in all these years. Every visit is with a nurse practitioner--often still in training. There's no continuity, no personal connection, and certainly no accountability. I will absolutely change providers and will actively warn others about this clinic. I also plan to report this experience to my insurance provider. This place no longer deserves anyone's time or money.
