Unfortunately Dr Perlman's office was closed permanently toward the end of 2023. He was the best and will be missed.

They'll overcharge you 100% and steal your dividends if you trust these people as your "rep payee" . Some staff are abusive and have no interest in ones potential. As an A+ accountant student i was offended when they pulled me out of my house and made me lose my job and living arrangement , forced me into a group home and took control of all of my funds fraudulently. There's nothing beneficial about what these people do, and that is my honesty.

He is a lying sociopath only there for his own gain, he is not interested in helping people, and most likely gets some sick enjoyment from imparting mental anguish upon his victims. I will be filing a report against him so that Servicenet can pretend to do an internal investigation on him and then claim he's done nothing wrong. The system has failed; long live the system. Thanks for making me feel worse Servicenet. Dr. Louis A. Velazquez was rude, condescending, did not listen to me, made wild assumptions, and lied in a medical report. I saw him for a TMS consultation. When asked questions about TMS treatments Dr. Louis A. Velazquez would only reply by saying, "I don't know." He stated, "It's my job to interrogate you!". I stood to gather my paperwork and leave his office as he fully triggered the PTSD from which I suffer, and he yelled at me saying, "You're being aggressive! Get out of my office!". I was in no way whatsoever being aggressive, I was trying to get away from him. In his medical report he lied and stated that I refused treatment. I did not refuse treatment, he drove me out of his office. My conditions have worsened as a direct result of his actions. My quality of life has deminished significantly as a result of his mistreatment. I am now seeking TMS treatments elsewhere. I have gone for a TMS consultation elsewhere. They answered my questions. I was treated with kindness, care, and sensitivity at the place I went for a real consultation; they treated me the exact opposite of the way Dr. Louis A. Velazquez treated me." - an extremely unsatisfied client

I have been going to Island Counseling for almost 7 years now and have never had a bad experience…read more What I read in these reviews sounds like a few people's rare bad experiences, but it is definitely not what I've witnessed or experienced there. The receptionists do seem pretty busy and always doing something, but I think they have a lot to stay on top of and are trying their best. I've seen some pretty interesting people in the office and the receptionists are always very kind and patient with these people. Moreover, I've recently been having issues with post-partum and have had to go in more often. If I can't wait till my next appointment and need to come in sooner, the receptionist takes my name down and calls me as soon as there is a cancellation - this is normally a matter of a day. I've never had that efficient of service in any other doctor's office. A few people commented that they think the staff just hands out pills and sends you on your way, which is a little misleading. There are some staff members who specifically deal in just medication management - not therapy. In fact, most psychiatrists are not therapists. Yes, they listen to see what is going on, but their role is not to counsel you like a therapist would. However, I have found this staff to go above and beyond when need be. II have been seeing Pat Senior since I began and for years I really only needed medication management; what I was doing worked, and we only needed to check in every few months to make sure it was still working. This could easily be done in a 15 minute appointment. However, since having my baby nine months ago, I have struggled a lot to get back on course. Pat meets with me every other week and goes far beyond just throwing pills at me. Yes, she tries to adjust my medication to find something that will work but that's what her job is. Even though her role is not to be a talk therapist, she still listens to me and gives me other ways to handle my issues without resorting to medicine. In terms of advertisements in a doctor's office, this office has no more ads than any other modern medical office. They all have signs and brochures for different products. They don't push any of these products on you; the information is just there for the taking. I'm also not sure what happened with the person who couldn't find seating. They give you papers or the tablet to fill out and you can sit on their numerous couches or chairs in the waiting room. I really think this is an excellent place to receive help. If you call and there is a wait to get in, it's because there are so many people who want to work with this staff.

So at this point for an 11am appointment you already have 6 to 9 people waiting in front of you. Those people have been waiting for hours for a doctor that isn't even in the office hahaha. Needless to say you are stuck in that hell for hours !! You take time from work to go to a doctor's appointment and you return to work 4 hours later if ya lucky! This place does not give two flying F***** about you or your time! To make matters worse, once you are called ( hours later ) Tobacco will do one of two things, if he is really backed up ( usually always ) he will call you and a few other off to the side and say, I sent ya meds to the pharmacy-make ya next apt bub-bye... Or he will take you in his office and talk politics with you. With NO regard for the others waiting out in the waiting room for hours and sit there to tell you how much he loves the president for a good 30 to 45 min!!!Nothing about you, all about politics! Never in my years have I seen such a blatant disregard for people that need proper counseling and their time! Stay far away from this place, BAD BUSINESS !!!

I will summarize this but this review should be taken seriously. I started seeing him around 2011. As a child that was ravaged by the chokehold of anxiety, I sought help. It was then after the first appointment that I was prescribed Wellbutrin. I had horrific side effects. Irritability, dry mouth, worse anxiety. So I stopped taking it. After that drug didn't work, he prescribed me Ativan. He never once told me how addictive the drug would be. Not only that, but he prescribed it to me like candy. He would tell me to take 3MG a day even though it was supposed to be as needed. So for 6 years I took this medication not knowing how addictive it was. But he was determined to keep me on it. Fast forward to September 2018. I went to him in a deep state of depression looking to try an SSRI. These medications are typically used for depression and are not addictive like Ativan is. As I am sitting in the chair in his room, he REFUSED to prescribe me any SSRI stating the "horrible side effects it would cause me". But there he was again trying to get me to take Wellbutrin knowing how many horrific side effects I had from this medication. He tells me "take Wellbutrin in the morning" and then after I sat there for 10 minutes arguing with me, he tells me "take it at night" to which I replied "I thought you said to take it in the morning?". With laughter in his reply, he says "Well it's morning somewhere, right?" From that moment on, I have never stepped foot in his office. Such a thoughtless, coincided and incompetent physician. I am happy to say, after switching practices and getting on to an SSRI for the last 10 months, I have gained my life back. All while going against his word. To save potential future patients from he shit show I went through for 7 years with this practice, PLEASE don't go here for your psychiatric needs. Go elsewhere where you'll find the care and thoughtfulness you deserve.
