My eyebrows have gotten thinner over the years so much so that giving myself eyebrows became more of a maintenance rather than makeup activity. I've often thought of permanent eyebrows as a solution but I was always reluctant because I knew in the wrong hands my situation could be worse with permanent eyebrows that looked painted on and maybe also painted on wrong! So I researched and waited until I came upon a professional I could put some trust in. Not only was all of Veera Gorlatova reviews very positive, her website was professional with loads of information on the process. So I placed my eyebrows in her hands. I took photos with me a list of characteristics I wanted my eyebrows to have: natural look, more than one "tone" so as not to look like a flat painted on line, and a natural shape that was not too thin for my face. Veera looked at all the "instructions", smiled and nodded that she understood. She also explain how the pigmentation would look at first, after about 2 weeks, and then the final results. The process was in Veera's office and pleasant. After she was done I was very happy with the shape she gave me that was clearly visible with the first application that does resemble the painted look. Within the next week, it seemed to me that the applied color was flaking off in clumps and I panicked! I called Veera complaining that "maybe I wasted my money because it didn't take for me!" Veera was very calm and not to worry - if after the process completes and I still felt that way she would return the fee. She reminded me that this flaking was part of the process when the topical color drops away and the color within the skin of the eyebrow begins to appear. Two weeks later I was washing my face and keep going over my eyebrows thinking I had some residue eyebrow pencil. To my happy surprise - it wasn't makeup. It was me! I was so happy. Thank you Veera! Today, I had my eyebrow procedure done and Veera is an *excellent* artist. A friend suggested that I go here and I also looked up reviews on her work, which encouraged me to take a bold step and set an appointment. Of course I did research into other places but wasn't as impressed. Her website is very well organized and the layout is beautiful, informative (and she gives excellent tips on her site regarding what people should be mindful of in making their decision to have makeup done. For myself, my first impression of Veera was that she was very professional and is very personable. After I had my consulation with her and was SO impressed with the eyebrows that she had drawn on my face, I KNEW I had to come by for the actual procedure. I was EXTREMELY impressed with how meticulous she is with her work. I was concerned about the pain as I've never had a tattoo before, but it actually did not hurt at all. She used the numbing creme well and I only felt some small prickly and feathery sensations and the GREAT taste in music that she plays helped me to relax. I also helped that she was mindful of my nervousness and encouraged me that I'd be fine and would regularly ask me if I was feeling pain. All of that aside, it is absolutely clear that Veera is very attentive to her customers. She is mindful of your time and takes SUCH careful time in ensuring that the eyebrows that she shapes for you frame your face beautifully. VERY KEY is that it is clear that she does makeup across different ethnicities and skin types. Key traits that I look for are a personable and professional demeanor. It's the icing on the cake that she is both these things AND produces exceptional work. I found Permanent Makeup and Esthetics after a year of contemplating if I would do the permanent makeup for my eyebrows. I am in my late 20's and have been shading in my eyebrows since a teen. I use to shade in eyebrows all the time when I was younger but lately I have become lazy. I do not wear makeup during work days... just on weekends or for outing but no matter what I always felt insecure about not having eyebrows shaded in. So I would try to shade in before work if I was up to it. Back to my search for permanent makeup... I found very few places in the DC area that have evidence of their work. I live in DC and though there were some listed in DC there were no pictures or reviews specific to PM. Northern Virginia had more options for PM and I had originally went with another location but while still nervous about the procedure because it is my face and because it is a tatoo I kept researching and I came across Permanent Makeup and Esthetics, LLC. The before and after pictures looked spot on of the results I wanted. So I canceled my appointment with other location and made an appointment with Veera. My eyebrows look amazing and I no longer have to shade them in for regular work days. If I am going somewhere special I will shade in for a more dramatic look but the time of process to shade in has increase because I no longer have to create a perfect eyebrow shape. Simply stated, Veera is amazing. I had gotten my eyebrows done by someone else about 5 years ago which have since faded (normal after a couple of years). I was happy with the work of the other technician, but now after going to Veera (and having someone to compare her to), I wouldn't want to go to anyone else. Veera has a true eye for eyebrows. My shape started to go awry because I didn't know where I should be plucking. Veera easily helped me find the best shape for my face and it has made all the difference in my appearance. I also love waking up and feeling put together because I don't need to fill in my eyebrows (seriously, I would spend forever filling them in trying to make them perfect every morning). Also, the process is completely painless. Seriously, it doesn't hurt one bit. The method I had before was extremely painful (almost like razors digging into my skin), but Veera's skill and technique make it a relaxing process. I have received complements from strangers at Sephora who wanted to know where I get my brows done and I highly recommended her. For those who have never had this done, your brows will look darker and more dramatic for about a week after the procedure. It takes a little time for your skin to really absorb the pigment. Once it does, you will have natural, gorgeous eyebrows which are easy to maintain because you just pluck around the shape. Lastly, even in spending the short time I did with Veera, I can clearly tell that this is her passion and she truly cares about her customer's satisfaction. As I've gotten older, my eyebrows and eyelashes have become very sparse; to the point that I had to spend quite a bit of time in the mornings drawing them in - I hated it! As a natural blonde, I have always struggled with barely visible eyebrows, and when my husband decided that I deserved a treat after having our baby this summer, I began researching estheticians near our home. Imagine my surprise to find one so close by! With great reviews and an impressive portfolio (because how else do you know what the work really ends up looking like? LOTS of scary pictures online, so experience and natural looking results were my biggest concerns!)! I first scheduled a consultation because I had read online about estheticians who would not apply permanent makeup over scar tissue. Anyone thinking about permanent makeup shouldn't see anyone else in the area except Veera. If you see a negative review, read it carefully - Veera takes pride in her work and her art and she will only do what is best for her clients. First, I'm a working professional with Alopecia Universalis. I previously had my eyebrows done by Astrid from Permanent Line and the outcome over time wasn't what I wanted. After finding Veera, I realize how much was not done with my previous experience. Appt 1: Jan 2016. I scheduled permanent eyebrows and after meeting with Veera and she talked through how she creates them. She also told me I needed to have the ones I had laser removed or the results wouldn't be good. It was informative and she spent over an hour with me and refused to allow me to pay her anything despite taking her time. I had the tattooed laser removed. Appt 2: May 2016. I let Veera know that I'd healed from the laser removal and got back on her schedule. She spent over an hour working on the shape and symmetry in pencil and we talked through what I liked and didn't like. The tattoo process was comfortable and she used multiple shades of Browns to create the eyebrows. She used different needle sizes to shade the edges and create a natural look. Veera is simply amazing! I did a lot of extensive research to make sure I was going to the best PM artist. It was either Veera, or NYC. I am a natural red head, and my eyebrows are naturally very light blonde, almost non-existent. I have to fill them in every. single. day. and it drove me insane. The thought of having them permanently done was always a daydream. Veera, made it come true! As a redhead, I thought it would be hard to match the color, but she did so perfectly. I was also afraid of them looking too 'tattooed' or that she might have to shave the actual hair to get started... neither of these were true. They look so natural, and perfect. Woohoo, best thing I ever did for myself!! First, let me say that I am 66 years old and had thinning eyebrows. I was tired of carefully filling them in daily. My friend suggested me to go here. I always had problem with my eyebrows. They are so light and grow in the different directions. I booked appointment thru website. Has to wait a little longer , because I booked Saturday appointment which is really convenient for the person who works. Veera is professional and she knows what she does. I came there with my own imagine how my eyebrows have to look , she correct me and she was right, the way she draw my eyebrows much better. Procedure took a little less than 2 hours. No pain at all! First let me start by saying The office was a little hard to find... but I eventually found it amongst the huge buildings don't bother looking for a sign.. there is none (the only con) BUT Veera is Amazing! So happy with my eyebrows! I lost most of my eyebrows from chemo and they never quite came back. I looked like Mona Lisa, without the loveIy smile. I was never happy with the lasting "power", or lack thereof, of eyebrow pencils and shadow I had to use every day. So for Christmas I got my eyebrows back, and better than ever, because perfectly shaped. Veera tattooed great brows for me. After the touch-up, I thought they weren't dark enough, and she said the eyebrows I had left naturally were too blond and reflective and if I dyed my eyebrow hairs brown, it would be perfect. I researched for years before deciding on Veera to fix a scar that caused no hair to grow on part of my eyebrow. She is the absolute best. When I tell people I have had this done, they don't believe me and make me show them up close.
