Last Autumn I change my gas and electric suppliers. I pay my bills online. There was an error made (human error) my account/reference number for my gas bill was changed but not the supplier. I paid my gas bill of a few hundred euro, but unfortunately it went to Gas Networks Ireland. After a long saga with electric Ireland who were helpful I was onto online banking. In pure desperation I requested that I be put through to a senior member of staff. This is where my good news story begins. I was put through to an assistant manager Triona and she was simply brilliant. Took all the required information on Wed, explained that it might take a day or two to sort. She phoned me at 6.00 Friday evening with a full explanation and exactly what I needed to do to have my money returned.
