A public footpath which crosses several holes is classified as a hazard so care is needed when deciding whether to go for the green or lay up. There are also a number of deep bunkers strategically placed but they are well maintained and playing out of them is not always as daunting as it looks. As with most links courses the greens are lightening fast and the wind can be challenging. The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant on the first floor overlooking the course and sea. Reasonably priced food is available all day.

Then it's not a long walk to the promentary that is Cape Cornwall, surely one of the most westerly of points in the country. It's very exposed to the weather coming off the Atlantic, so dress appropriately and be prepared to be blown off your feet by the wind! But it's worth persevering and climbing up to the observation point, where the views are spectacular. When you look around, it seems like you are seeing more than 180 degrees of sea. And if you stare at the horizon, you can actually see the curve of the earth! Magnificent!
