Rooftop dining at its best! Obviously, the atmosphere was great especially since it was not raining the day we dined there. The food was presented very nicely, prepared as expected, and was delicious tasting. Service was a bit slow, though. It was difficult at times trying to get the attention of our server. Being outdoors, we did have to contend with numerous bees flying about. The other distraction/issue was having to watch one of servers having a meltdown and management trying to control the situation. Those issues need to addressed privately. read more

This was the best ending to a fabulous brief trip in Paris. Took us awhile to figure out that Perruche is located in the Longchamp department store/ Printemps building, which was closed. We asked a security guard inside who told us where to go. They need better signage, unless they're going for the speakeasy vibe. When you reach the rooftop, the views are everything!! A Google search is how we landed here for a sweet ending with Eiffel Tower views and it was beyond perfect. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but as you can imagine, no one was seated inside. The weather in August was gorgeous and warm which was great too. We enjoyed the Whole Mediterranean Sea Bass for two, which our server patiently filleted for us table side. It was so fresh and flavorful, I absolutely loved it. The food, the sparkling Eiffel Tower views made me obsessed. Everyone was taking photos, it really is the perfect rooftop location and vibe. Music was great too. Perruche was a great experience when I attended dinner at 8pm. When I arrived the ambience was spectacular as I walked down to meet my host on the amazing rooftop. She greeted and escorted me with a fabulous runway walk to my dining table. Placed us down with the beautiful view of the World's Famous Eiffel Tower. She was marvelous! The server then greeted himself. As I didn't know what I want on the menu the server then recommended my whole dinner. He did not miss a beat! The food was Great (8/10)! Drinks Was Amazing (10/10)! The entrance is tucked away inside what appears to be a café at the entrance to a shopping mall, which was closed at night. We called ahead to inform them that we'd be late, and the staff was very understanding, which helped ease the stress of the situation. The food more than made up for the minor inconvenience. 3 stars. We came due to a recommendation from a friend, as it does have an amazing view of the skyline of Paris (including the Eiffel tower). Additionally, due to being on the roof of the 9th floor, it has a beautiful garden-like feel with a majestic wooden arch. However, the beauty of the atmosphere does not carry to the food served. The two of us ordered french fries, the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, and the rigatoni. The service getting in was slow due to our reservation being at their opening hour. However, when we were determining on what to order, it was difficult getting an good understanding/recommendation from our waiter on what were the best options (the staff didn't seem to understand the menu very well). I visited Perruche on my trip to Paris a little over a month ago, based on a recommendation made by someone I know for the views and food. This was our first stop for a meal upon arrival at our hotel. They sat us quickly which was great, however they had patio seating closed with the clear material, so we pretty much lost out on the beautiful view and the nice outside air. Food was pretty bland which was disappointing and for some odd reason another waiter (who was not ours), took my utensils from me and I was confused as to why he took mines and not my husbands. I watched as he placed it somewhere on the nearby waiter cart. I then told my waiter how am I supposed to eat my food when my utensils were taken away from me by someone else. Our waiter seemed confused as well and went to bring me utensils, however upon the delivery of the new utensils, it was the same exact one that was taken away from me by the other employee that I had used for my appetizer earlier. I also found this odd as I thought I would be receiving new utensils. The whole situation was odd and it left me confused. Will I return back here on my next visit to Paris for food? No. For a drink? We met up with one of our French friends so she did all the ordering for us in French. I ordered the red mullet fillet with peas and tomatoes ($43). It was ok, nothing special about it. Don't think it was worth the $43. Our great seating with the view made up for it. The dessert that we got was pretty good though. We got the apricot ice cream. You can also ask to try a tasting of a wine before ordering a bottle. If you want good food, I wouldn't recommend coming here unless all you want is a view. What a wonderful lunch with incredible views of the city! I feel like I stepped into a hidden wonderland (which helped make up for the $$$)! Food/drinks: For starters, highly recommend the octopus carpaccio; calamari wasn't my favorite. For main, highly recommend the tuna dish; it was so meaty and uniquely cooked it almost reminded me of eating a steak (in a really good way, as strange as that sounds). Loved that the sauce wasn't creamy too. Bottle of white wine recommended by waiter was nice complement. The non-alcoholic cocktail I ordered (earl grey, floral notes) was underwhelming. Service: Great! It's not the fastest but the speed was perfect for us to take our time and enjoy ourselves. Professional and attentive staff despite the busyness of the place. Ambiance: Made good food taste even better (and in itself was 5/5 stars)! Lovely views of the Eiffel Tower and lots of Paris. Tip: be sure to stand near the balcony and snap an unobstructed picture! We planned our trip to Paris for 6 months. Dinner at Perruche with our friends was supposed to be one of the culinary highlights of the trip. Unfortunately the service was far below what was expected of a Paris restaurant. Upon being seated we waited 30 min to get water and a drink. Apps and dinner came in reasonable time. However, we waited another 30 minutes to get dessert menus and another 10 min waiting to order before deciding to leave. If we come back to Paris, we WILL NOT return to Perruche. read more

The food, in my opinion, was not as flab as I'd hoped but this is pretty typical for places in France and my taste buds are used to the American restaurants. Racist hostess. Gave away our reservation because we are Asian. Reservation at 7:30pm and by 7.33 she gave our reserved table to someone else. Rude and does not listen. Forced us to sit at the bar to eat, and we said we will just order drinks until a table opens up. Because that is the norm. Then the server and this guy in a suit comes up to force us to order food and eat at the bar. Rude and rude thru out the entire experience. Food was mediocre at best, probably soured because of the horrible service and racist treatment we received. Afterwards they finally decided to seat us near an open window table, for us to "enjoy" our dessert. The server at this table was actually nice and tried to help salvage our experience. We love the pissadiere, the calamari, the fish were all highlights. There's a seasonal ice cream dessert that's amazing and they put sparklers in it. We started our dinner with drinks and the mushroom tart and calamari. Both were very good - mushroom tart was tremendous! You have a great view of the Eiffel Tower even before you get into the restaurant. But sitting at your table, looking at that view is just incredible. Had to leave before I could even take a sip of water because every table was smoking cigarettes and the staff refused to open an indoor table right in the middle of their food run path to accommodate us. What's the point of having good food if it's being suffocated by the stench or cigarette smoke? I can't imagine how horrific this experience would be for a lung, throat, or oral cancer survivor. Despite multiple staff members visibly rolling their eyes at the request to move tables, I definitely don't have any apologies for not wanting my food to taste like burning chemicals. There is also an equally amazing restaurant on the floor below with better views since all of their outdoor tables border the view. You'd think that with Perruche's status, let alone their prices (which I was more than happy to pay prior to this horrible hospitality experience), they'd be more hospitable. I guess they're really trying to uphold the stereotypical rude French people standard. It's a shame because they're the only place I've come across since being here that aligns with the unfortunate stereotype. read more
