It is hard to make my hair look good because of the directions it wants to grow and my hair texture (fine and increasingly thin), but Teresa succeeded where many have failed. As a tourist in Barcelona, I've felt torn: it's natural to want to see this beautiful, historic city, but my presence is also an imposition on the local residents who must feel like they're being crowded out of their own home by strangers. Nevertheless, Teresa and the owner made me feel welcome. I'm so grateful for their kindness and skill. Only €32 to look and feel like a million bucks. 10/10.

He speaks excellent English, which made the experience even better. Marcel's colleague, Joao, arrived halfway through my haircut and he was very cool as well. I booked through Booksy and it was easy and flawless. I reserved the haircut + taper fade + straight razor shave, and Marcel did an exceptional job. The shave was very relaxing, including both hot and cold towels. He finished with a very nice and unique aftershave that my wife liked very much. This shop is located in the Gracia neighborhood, just a couple of blocks from the subway stop. This area is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Barcelona! Absolutely NOT touristy, with so many hidden gems -- coffee shops, pastry shops, small grocery stores, and beautiful little parks where you can sit and enjoy a cool drink. As someone who considers himself a barbershop connoisseur, frequenting The People's Barbershop in the Bay Area (SF and Oakland locations) for their fades and straight razor shave with hot towel service, I can confidently say that Shellshock is absolutely getting added to the canon of classy barbershops for me. They took a few good looks at me and said that I should try some of their fades and smooth lines and sharp cuts. They exclaimed, "New city, new look!" The whole barber shop is boxing themed! They have all the greats pictured in there. Mike Tyson's signed gloves are in there! They have boxing shorts, and all sorts of memorabilia from the ring! If you're a boxing fan, you'd dig this place. The barber was quite well versed in his boxing history and boxing standings. It's a small place, but they do a good job.
