On arriving at the store, the blinds were shut and the lights were off and stayed shut right up to 15:00, after my third attempt at calling them, I decided to cut my losses and go to the metro to make my way back to work. I asked for a traditional, short men's haircut, and service included a shampoo and scissor cut. This is by far the best haircut I have received in years. It is hard to make my hair look good because of the directions it wants to grow and my hair texture (fine and increasingly thin), but Teresa succeeded where many have failed. As a tourist in Barcelona, I've felt torn: it's natural to want to see this beautiful, historic city, but my presence is also an imposition on the local residents who must feel like they're being crowded out of their own home by strangers. Nevertheless, Teresa and the owner made me feel welcome. I'm so grateful for their kindness and skill. Only €32 to look and feel like a million bucks. 10/10.

I specifically chose this salon because of all the other reviews mentioning that the staff spoke English. On the day of my appointment I called to confirm and the person who answered the phone didn't speak English and was incredibly unhelpful. I kept trying to tell him my name and the time of my appointment and he kept responding that no, I didn't have appointment. After about 30 seconds, he hung up on me. I tried calling back several times but he must have taken the phone off the hook because the line was busy. At this point, I was desperate - my hair was a mess and it was a few hours to the wedding. I took a taxi over to the salon and buzzed several times to be let in. The same guy (I assume the same person who answered the phone) didn't want to let me up. I finally got into the building and made it up the salon. When I answered the door I showed him the email confirming my appointment to which he said that the stylist hadn't come in that day, I believe because she was either sick or had to go out of town (the whole conversation was him talking in Spanish and me responding in English). It was already noon and I saw when I made the appointment online that she had other people booked before me, so it wasn't like I was showing up as the first customer of the day. So despite having my contact info AND the fact that I called to confirm no one ever bothered to tell me she wasn't coming in. Plus it was like they were trying to hide because they screwed up - hanging up on me and then not letting me into the building. The whole thing was a nightmare with the worst possible timing and made me almost miss the wedding. Regardless of the language barrier it was the definition of bad customer service.
