Love the vet and staff! The office is always efficient and friendly. Even our animals don't really mind going in to the office.

We cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care, dedication, and expertise she provided in saving our beloved Irish Setter, Seamus. After months of frustration, misdiagnoses, and heartbreak with other veterinarians, Dr. McNeil stepped in and performed nothing short of a miracle. For five long months, Seamus suffered from a range of life-threatening health issues that other vets either overlooked or failed to treat properly. Despite numerous visits to our Washington State his condition only worsened, and we were losing hope. That all changed when we drove 3,000 miles back to our Vet of 25 years in Georgia, Dr. McNeil's Lake Park office. From the moment our appointment with Dr. McNeil and her assistant Madison began it was clear that she was the true healer and gentle caring person we have loved over the decades with an unmatched level of skill, patience, and compassion. Unlike previous vets, Dr. McNeil took the time to listen, to ask the right questions, and to thoroughly examine every aspect of Seamus's health. Where others had missed crucial signs, she connected the dots. With a level of precision and determination that can only come from years of experience and a deep passion for animal care, she devised a comprehensive treatment plan that finally put Seamus on the road to recovery. Her medical knowledge is extraordinary, but what truly sets Dr. McNeil apart is her heart. She treated Seamus as if he were her own dog, showing endless patience and kindness throughout the process. She explained every step of the treatment in detail, ensuring we understood exactly what was happening and why. Every phone call, every update, and every reassurance was delivered with genuine care. Today, Seamus is not just surviving--he is thriving. His energy has returned, his personality has blossomed once again, and we have our happy, playful Irish Setter back, all thanks to Dr. McNeil. We have no doubt that she saved his life, and for that, we will be forever grateful. If you are looking for a veterinarian who is thorough, compassionate, and truly brilliant at what she does, look no further than Dr. Leah McNeil. She is, without question, the best in her field. Dr. McNeil, from the bottom of our hearts--thank you. You are a lifesaver in every sense of the word.

Dr. Griggs has always been a compassionate and ethical vet. My pets have been under his care for…read moreover 15 years. The practice has been sold to a different conglomerate and since then there are other vets and staff changes that shouldn't reflect Dr. Grigg's history and reputation. Keep in mind there's always going to be complainers and those who expect miracles, and even competitors in his field who love to throw darts. He's been an amazing veterinarian and surgeon! I've met a few of the newer vets there and I've been pleasantly happy with their knowledge and care.

ATTENTION ANYONE THAT HAS SENIOR DOGS!!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO SHEPARD SPRING!! Not sure where to…read morestart there are so many issues - please reach out to me personally if you want the entire laundry list but here are few major ones: 1) Rude, inappropriate and unprofessional staff: Techs use foul, cursing language toward clients when they think they cannot hear them. After waiting for over an hour on 1 medication, I asked the receptionist for an update from the tech on the timeline - if I needed to come back, that was ok. However, when she went back to ask, the tech replied very loudly "She needs to f****** wait and be f***** patient, jesus christ!" . She did not think I heard this, but I did - and was appalled and hurt and in disbelief! I would lose my job if I uttered profanity like that toward a client. On a separate visit, a doctor made an inappropriate sexual inuendo about 'doing butt stuff' while expressing my dog's anal glands, which was the most inappropriate joke I've ever heard from a professional veterinarian. 2) Practice Manager does not care about your issues or complaints. When asked to speak with the Manager, I was told that a message could be relayed to her but that she was not available to speak with me directly. I requested callbacks for every single incident until the final instance (see #1) occurred, to which I immediately called the vet who saw my dog and spoke with her about the situation. Only then did the Manager call me back the following day. The conversation was COMPLETELY DISSMISSIVE and in denial about everything that I brought to light, including the tech using foul language toward us on our last visit. She literally accused me of not being empathetic enough and brushed off long wait times, dirty rooms, and improper staff training on 'it's always been like that since I've worked her'. What do you even say to that? Have some standards! 3) Dirty rooms, long wait times, and inability to read the room. If you've ever been to or worked at a top-notch vet facility, you will have a deep appreciation and expectation of cleanliness. You won't find that at Shepard Spring - hair clumps, dirt, debris, urine and fecal matter can be found everywhere from the waiting room and exam rooms to the checkout desk and outdoor entrance area. Have anything else planned in your day after your appointment? Cancel it, the wait times are so unbelievably long that your day will never go as planned when you have to stop at Shepards Spring. On that note, there were multiple occasions where they told us our medicine was ready to pick up only to approach locked doors when we drove all the way out to pick it up and a sign reading 'in a staff meeting' - why was that not indicated over the phone before I drove all the way here?? Waiting to be called back to your appointment is minimum 20 minutes after arrival, and while you're waiting you can witness the true casual nature of the support employees as they loudly chit-chat about weekend drama and weekly gossip. Need to call to make an appointment? Hopefully they don't have one other thing going on at the moment because you will swiftly be placed on hold to 'enjoy' some horrible, anxiety-inducing hold music. I brought this to their attention several times, but again, the customer is not respected in the slightest - hang up and call VCA or Forgotten Coast. 4) Safety concerns with other pets. One visit we were told to go ahead and leave the room to check out - only to be charged at by another customer's untamed dog that was on a 15 foot leash and almost bit our senior dog who was dying from cancer. We had to immediately pick him up and run out the door in a panic because no techs or receptionists were aware or responding to our calls for help. This incident could have resulted in a very serious situation, and when I brought this up to the Practice Manager she completely dismissed it! If you care about your pet - young or old, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO SHEPARD SPRING - both you and your pet deserve more care and respect, there are better vets in Crawfordville that will give that to you.
