The team doesn't play in pink, they play in red, and are from 1888. Walsall is a special town for me with mixed memories. It's the first place I stopped on my way back to Oxford from Liverpool on the opening day of my British tour, where I bought some music equipment and sandwiches and other goodies. So I have a sentimental attachment to it. But some very bad things happened nearby to me, as well. First-Hand Experience: The City of Walsall and the stadium are special to me as I said, but the club doesn't really have much affinity in my heart, so I'm giving them an average three. Plus I did see them play live away from home in Oxford once, and hardly any of their fans turned up. Still I respect this side and wish them well. They play in League One and don't really have a rival, because WBA and Wolves are too busy worrying about each other. They've been to a League Cup Semi, but never past the Round of 16 of the FA Cup, and never above mid-table in the 2nd tier, currently in the 3rd tier.

The coat rack was just some random rail in a corridor and no where big enough for all the coats so half of them ended up on the floor. Although the company gave us drink vouchers, once they ran out it was up to people to buy their own and the drinks were expensive; London prices. Took quite some time to get served drinks at the bar which was frustrating. The heating was on above us and we were sweltering, they did turn it down eventually. Overall, a lovely dinner with food waiting staff, cost wise acceptable for the company but too expensive for the more junior staff, and it was reminiscent of having a school disco in daylight.....

The 12,068 capacity stadium is set on 65 acres of land in rural Worcestershire. The Sixways complex includes the stadium pitch, indoor training centre and 15 pitches. The ground has excellent facilities for conferencing and private events. There is also a park and ride scheme on non-match days. The Warriors in the Community programme is involved with over 18,000 young people per year. From Rugby to dance and disability sports to developing key educational skills, the Warriors Community department plays a part in ensuring our community is Premiership class on and off the pitch.

We arrived around 10am ( opens at 9:30am on a Weekday ) and were surprised the parking lot wasn't that busy. We had prepaid our tickets / wristband etc ahead of time so didn't have to waste time there and walked in. We managed to see some of the animal exhibits and ride a few of the rides before our allocated Safari drive through of 12:30pm. Once we lined up and began our drive it took about 2 hours, it also became clear that the drive could be more efficient if people actually paid attention to the rules. If it says traffic on the right side doesn't stop ( It states if you want to see the animals to stay to the left ) then don't stop and hold up the rest, if you do then you're a problem. If it states to keep your windows half way up and not let the animals put their heads inside and you do just that then you're putting the Animals and potentially yourselves in Jeopardy, if you do then you're a problem. If it states not to feed the Giraffes because they're monitoring their diet and you then allow the Giraffe to come inside your car while feeding them then you're a problem. I hope if you're one of the above people that you're reading this because....you're an entitled problem. With that being said, the problem people aren't the fault of WMSP. Once our drive was complete we went to park back up and found the parking lot to be drastically busier than when we left. We would certainly advise you if you want to get more done to try and show up early. Price of tickets wasn't bad considering its a major attraction and the price of food and souvenirs while high didn't seem too high to us. A great day out overall and recommended.

There's nothing like animals in captivity to make for an excellent day out. Seeing tigers lolling…read morein the West Midlands rain instead of loping along in a Bengali jungle always makes me happy. I jest, I jest! But the joke surely opens the way to speak of the West Midlands Safari Park's ethical treatment of animals, and their committment to assuring their animals live happy, fulfilled lives, despite being gawked at by herds of Midlanders. Occasionally there's a Welsh person as well, but the buffalo don't mind. The nature reserve is 4 miles of animal viewing. You stay in your car and drive through the park, looking at various creatures, some boring, some adventurous, and some downright frightening. My favourite bit was when the largest giraffe (which is saying a lot) leant into our car window and drooled on my youngest, who threw an absolute fit! You can feed some of the animals, but for some parts, you have to keep your car windows and doors closed and locked. This takes about an hour and a half, after waiting for everybody and their second cousin's aunt-in-law to take 8 pictures of each animal. After that, head over to the Amusement park, where you can go through various bits -- the Bat House, which smells of guano, the seal sanctuary, and seal show (which is good fun), and the snake man, who gives educational talks about reptiles and drapes them all over his shoulders. The rides are good fun -- nothing to write home about if you've been to Alton Towers, but all the stuff you'd expect from an amusement park. The cost to enter the Safari Park is highish, but not ridiculous - £13 per adult, £11.50 per child, and that's just for the animals bit. If you're going to the amusement park, the cost for a wristband to ride all the rides all day is £11 for adults and £10.50 for children. So all in all, if you take a family of four, it will be a £100 day out -- make sure you go early and stay late for it to be worth the cost! With the park opening at 10 and closing at 6, you should be able to get your money's worth/

We took our dog here last weekend following the recommendations here on Yelp. I've lived in…read moreBirmingham for 14 years and didn't even know the place existed despite having driven past it many times! Wow. What a place. The fist thing that struck me was how big it is for saying that I never knew it was there. A huge open golf course area (which is not your usual fancy pants golf club - dog walkers were very welcome), a children's play area and a beautiful wooded area. There is also a cafe but we didn't try that out. The paths are well kept and there are many dog waste bins. I didn't spot any dog mess on the ground - clearly it's a park for well behaved dog owners!! I was also struck by how well kept it is. The people who care for the park obviously take great pride in the park. There are some lovely sculptures and boards showing the history of the park. Absolutely loved it and it's now on our regular dog walking rota! I've deducted one point because the car park is tiny - we visited in February and it was very full so I imagine that in summer it's a nightmare. It did look as though there would be decent street parking around re area though.

Chris is a local resident and an expert when it comes to the many variety of trees in Warley Woods. We may take trees for granted but after one of Chris's walk and talk events you'll be forever hugging trees everywhere and telling them just how fabulous they are. A learn how to identify birds walk and talk by Liz Coleman who's an RSPB volunteer will get you twitching like crazy, you'll be amazed just how many birds we have flying about us. or you could just use the park to have a wander. It's 100 acres, about 4 miles from the city centre, offers free parking and is another of Birmingham's fantastic retreats.

I use the sports centre at the University of Birmingham a lot and while it does have positive…read moreaspects it is pretty dilapidated. The abundance of squash courts is a major plus, I don't know anywhere else in striking distance which can boast 7 courts, including three glass backed for easy viewing. Also there are numerous facilities for activities including: badminton, dance, gym, tennis, swimming and located across the university: 5-a-side, rugby, football, martial arts etc. However, it is soon to be demolished (the track has already closed) and as a consequence it hasn't been updated in a long while. The gym is tiny, the pool is only 25m (not Olympic size as stated below) and the tennis courts are almost unplayable due to a huge number of cracks and shabby nets. The changing rooms are clean enough but the showers areas are grim and the shower-heads are only about 5'10" off the ground (I'm pretty average height and I have to squat to get my hair wet). There is also a small cafe/bar which is nice enough but underwhelming and an overpriced, rarely open sports shop (£8 for a pair of football socks). It's functional and a pretty good facility for students and the wider community but the new-build can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

If you are looking for a private swimming pool or sports club but so as not to break the bank, then…read morethis could be the place for you. I was a member for about 2 years, although I am no longer for reasons I'll explain below. Firstly, the centre is part of the University of Birmingham. You can join as a non student and if you are alumni you will get a slightly cheaper rate. I joined for the swimming pool and you can get a swim only membership for a reasonable amount (it was about £12 a month I think when I was a member). The pool is great - longer than any of the other public pools at 30m. If you time it right you could get it to yourself but this is rare (university holidays are the best time for using the pool!). Basically membership works if you can work around the student timetable - it is out of use quite a lot although I think they always have it open for morning and lunchtime swims. This is why I'm no longer a member as I can't work around the limited availability of the pool. Do note though that during the university holidays they do often allow pay as you go membership which is fantastic because it is also the quietest time for the centre. The changing rooms are clean and bright. They also have a sauna there. Hopefully this has changed but when I was a member the ladies loos were awful with a terrible smell all the time! I have also done the pilates course at the centre, taught by Esther and she was excellent!
