Very clean, organized and accessible off of Maine St. There is an internet link where you can borrow, hold, and extend books and articles. The selection of audio books is lacking, compared to the larger libraries but you can use the app "Libby" which may enable you to access more of a variety. I still need to check that out.

Ever…read moresince then, I've just used their online e- books - downloading and putting on holds - easy peasy! But, I found a book that is only available in hard copy. WHAT -- I'll make do. The book was on signed out by someone else and I put a hold on it - via their website. This morning, I received an email saying - your book is ready. It took 3 minutes for me to find the book, check it out and get back into my car. HOW COOL IS THAT!? Technology has really brought libraries to the future.

We went to a circle time here, and a bilingual family game night. I also came to their art class. Over the summer they offered a free animal show. I'm blown away of how much is going on here. I highly recommend you should run, not walk to this library. I'm am so happy it is close by and it's open every day, even Sundays. Everyone I have met is super helpful. No complaints. Shout out to Emily! She is my favorite librarian. These are the best parts of community we must foster and take care of. They also don't penalize you for late fees and have no limit for checking out. There is a books sale area and a section that gives away food in the front. People bring things in and others take what they need. I absolutely love that. We need this more! The library did not pass their WC -1 on election day. Unfortunately our libraries will be reducing resources due to budget cuts. I will be emailing my Washoe county commission office about this. I encourage you to do the same.

The courthouse is actually a around building and I got a tour of it on one of my visits. It's beautiful inside and I love the architecture of this. Outside as well. The grounds are well-mannered cured and I mean manicured. So you couldn't ask for a city to takes care of things any better. They have new and used books as well within a reasonable price point. I found lots of great educational books from my preschooler. I even find coloring books and other things they are interested it. Our child likes tonsit on the chair and stare at the books they find. Its very well kept inside and they have a public restroom if you plan to stay longer. They even offer some hot tea and coffee. If you please. Parking lot is there, but as they are popular can get crowded. Overall its a wonderful place that we visit so often.

Grassroots Books is a very good used bookstore with a lot of variety of material-- children's books, DVD's, some records, gently used paperback and hardcover books. Hours are flexible for when they are open, however, they only buy books on Thursdays during the afternoon. I have never been tempted much to sell anything to them over the years, as they tend to be quite choosy with the material that they want and don't want. As a longtime book collector, this is important to maintaining a quality used stock and helps with inventory management. I highly recommend Grassroots for your next book adventure!

The Radiologic Technology program is now located here and it will be the future home of the Nursing program, as well. The pros? Because this is a much lower-volume campus than the Dandini campus, parking and computers are ample and faster than the ones at Dandini (as of 2015, that is). Facilities include seven general classrooms, two science labs, one nursing lab, an open computer lab, a distance education classroom, library resource center and faculty offices. It is very quiet and is a good place to study. There is currently a great deal of construction underway at present, and I look forward to seeing how this facility grows. The cons? Depending on where you're coming from, the commute can be BRUTAL. Definitely leave yourself extra time when you're headed to this campus!

I went here yesterday, Monday, June 10, 2019…read more I was amazed that The Summit, a high-end and ritzy shopping center in Reno, had a community book box. It is located in the plaza of The Summit, which is in the center of the shopping center, on the side of Van's, by the fountains. The book box is listed on the website as belonging to Lori Knudtzon of Bayer Properties (Charter #34192), the latter of which owns and manages The Summit. As I went here, I noticed the sign on the box that said "The Summit's Little Free Library". There was also a larger sign above it on a protective overhang, which also had two lights under it which illuminate the box at night. The Summit advertises this as a guest amenity for shoppers and I think it was part of the design when they built this shopping center. Anyone can start a Little Free Library. The website has thousands of locations across the country, and Reno has many. You just have to get the supplies to make and mount the box, either yourself or for a cost from the website (https://littlefreelibrary.myshopify.com/); and get used book donations. The only requirements are that the box be water tight and that it have a clear door so people can see the books. Some community book boxes are like old newspaper boxes converted, where the door opens at the top and closes automatically from pressurized hinges at the bottom. The one in Carson City City Hall is like this. But this library box was like a cabinet, with a manual latch on the bottom. The left door opened fine, but the right door would not open. I looked inside to try to find a lock or latch, but I saw nothing. The maintenance guy from The Summit, who was cleaning nearby, said that right door does not open. I am not sure why, as it looks like it should. There were two shelves for books. I looked through them to see if there was anything that I would like to borrow, but no luck. (If patrons take a book, they must leave one in its place.) They were all cheesy novels and children's books. One book was on its side, so I fixed it. I was happy the book box was there. even though I didn't find anything. I think this is such a cute thing, and hunting down all these community book boxes is a fun project! The only reason I am leaving only four stars is the right door did not open, which makes taking out books harder. I also wish this were listed on The Summit's website directory, like they do Putting Place, the free 7-hole putting green provided as a guest amenity by The Summit.
