Perfect corner local grocery store for an Italian language newbie staying in an Airbnb nearby. We…read morewill be cooking some of our own meals so going to the local grocer's is a fun culinary adventure. It was small yet had all of the essentials. Its aesthetic is like an NYC bodega where things are stacked from floor to ceiling. The employees were very helpful and didn't make fun of my preschool level Italian. There are small bakery, cheese and butcher counters. I encountered this local style of cheese, treccia, and am obsessed. The braiding is beautiful and the flavor is sublime. I do wish they had a fish counter but but I am certain that there are some good fishmongers near by. The quality of the produce was excellent. Unlike things in the U.S. where things look good but have no taste, all of the vegetables I bought had amazing depth of flavor. You do have to weigh and label your own produce which took me a bit of time to figure out. Looking forward to going back later in the week and definitely recommend visiting it if you need to go grocery shopping while visiting Sorrento.

Just different name on the bottle depends on where you are. Creme liquors are best on the other spot (islands) but limoncello is famous in this area! Get some! Taste some! That being said we were given a demonstration on how to make two types of fresh cheese by a woman that only spoke Italian. (See photo) Then we were feed a pretty hefty lunch which included cheese and cured meats, pasta, dessert and wine. I would have loved to enjoy the wine but it was so HOT under the greenhouse covering. We then got a tour of the olive oil farm and machinery and lemon groves. Again, very informative but just so hot. Finally was a trip to the store to buy the farm's bottles limoncello and olive oil. Complete with tasting and other souvenirs. Overall very good TOURIST attraction. It's not their fault that the setting was so forced and the weather was awful. It would be wonderful to come back on my own to browse and do things more on my own time.

It was my…read morefirst time in Italy, and I was already looking like (O_O) on our drive through the city and along the Amalfi coast from the airport. Absolutely gorgeous. Our driver dropped us off for 1.5 hours to have lunch here. I could have cried at how delicious the food was. Proscuitto-wrapped figs and cheese, stuffed pimientos, and mozzarrella and burrata for days. We were in heaven. Not to mention a bottle of champagne to celebrate the special occasion. We had giant meatballs as our entrée. I've never tasted anything like it before. For dessert, it was a fluffy chocolate cake that I can't recall the Italian name of. And shots of limoncello of course. The whole meal was phenomenal, and Nello (owner) is one of the kindest people we've met. My face hurt from smiling so much. This truly felt like a honeymoon experience, and I can't wait to come back.

Finally, a fruit tart ended the meal ......... perfection! The food can only be surpassed by the "family" atmosphere. Such a joy to spend time with such gracious hosts. We will be back!
