She said to google them, we would find them. Indeed a quick google search gave us the true name of the company, Discover Prague Tours. And it tells you exactly where to find them. Because unless you are staying in the immediate vicinity of the tour office, you are going to pass MANY tour companies, and many also with umbrellas (but not yellow ones). We found the meeting point and the office and got a number for the next free walking tour, that runs on the hour, daily. The number is just so they can keep track of how many people are on each tour. Our tour guide, Ashley, an ex-pat from Australia, was great! He was initially surprised by the size of the group, as it got close to 60 people. Which is quite a few for a walking tour of a city! But he kept the energy high, the information flowing and funny, and offered some great recommendations for eating and entertainment at the end of the tour. He wasn't too obnoxious about reminding people about tips (yes, it is a free tour...but they are working and deserve at least a little something!) 2.5 hours full of history and fun! If nothing else, I highly recommend you take advantage of the free tour. BUT our encounters with Discover Prague did not end there. We were impressed enough with the free city tour, that we decided to book their Kutna Hora/Sedlec Ossuary/Bone Church tour with them for the next day. We may have been able to do the trip cheaper on our own, but I can guarantee that we would have gotten at least a little lost at some point and wasted time, not to mention missing out on a LOT of interesting information. It is well worth the moneyThe Kutna Hora trip left at 11am, so there was no crazy rush to get to the meeting point. You meet at the office in Old Town Square and walk to the train station where the group rides to the town, and after a quick in-the-city train ride, you start getting the low down on the history. Our tour guide Levan was super informative. My only wish is that we could have had more time in each location (you visit the three main historical churches in Kutna Hora, including Sedlec Ossuary). We had plenty of time at the Bone Church, due to the bus to the next one running late. This pushed back lunch and might have lost us some post-lunch stops or free time that might have happened. Lunch is at a local Czech place, and is not included in your ticket. You can bring your own food or eat elsewhere if you want to. "Lunch" also occurred closer to 3:30 that to any more usual mealtime...And then you take a train back to the Prague main station where the tour ends. They will help with directions to where you need to go. 100% would recommend this tour as well. We attempted to go on one of their castle tours, but strangely only three people had bought tickets for the tour, and they have a group minimum of 4. We were given a refund right away and were told of other options for the palace tour. (We ended up deciding to explore it on our own and walk up ALL THOSE STAIRS!!) Finally, we booked a day trip to Karlovy Vary/Carlsbad that they had advertised in the office. It wasn't on their website to investigate further, but that is because they work with a different company to provide more options. Caity in the office helped us with the booking, since it was over the phone. Since it wasn't available on their website we had to pay the 1690 CZK in cash. But she took all of our contact information for the other guide group, sent it off to them, and gave us our voucher. We received information on the other company (in case we needed to contact them) and I was able to look them up ahead of time to make sure they were also legit. We were a bit nervous about the tour because we booked it less than 15 hours in advance, which seems awfully short notice for a 10 hour day trip. But everything worked out wonderfully! We were picked up within 5 minutes of our designated time the next day, at our hotel, and had a beautiful day in the spa town. Another awesome tour found via Discover Prague! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend them for any tourist in Prague!! -Be advised: not all tours occur on all days. -Be advised: tours booked in person require payment in CASH. There is an ATM on site. -Payment in CZK and Euro is accepted. -Many tours can be booked on the website if you would prefer to pay via credit card. -Not all tours are available on the website. -Not all longer tours include food. -Prices are very fair, in comparison to other tours I have done in other cities. -Seriously, if you have any questions or need any help, they are wonderful and happy to help!

We took the Discover Prague Royal free walking tour with British Dave. (It's free but you tip at…read morethe end). It was a nice tour. It was easy to find the meeting point. British Dave was informative and entertaining. We learned a bit of history about the Czech Republic. We learned about the buildings in Old Town and Jewish Quarter and a bit about the Prague castle. We went to Wenclazlas square and learned about the fall of communism. We saw Franz Kafka's childhood home, learned that Czech's didn't know about their most famous person until the 1980's, because he wasn't published until after he died, and at that point the Nazi's ruled and they didn't allow it, then the Soviet communists didn't allow it to be published in Czech. So no one was able to read it until the fall of communism in the Czech republic (there were the last country in Europe to have communism). Tourists used to come to Prague during communist times and ask about Kafka's childhood home (corner of Old town square), but no one knew who they were talking about. This tour was one of the best parts of our trip to Prague. It was good to see the areas, and have some history while we were there. It was about 2.5 hours, and was well worth our time.

Ileana is very knowledgeable about the history of these places and conducted the tour at an appropriate pace for all. We learned a lot and had a great time. On a very hot day, she stopped as needed, taking us under shades quite often and then took us to a reasonably-priced store where we could buy cold water. And the tour is indeed free. At the end, Ileana didn't even ask for any tip, although almost all of us gladly gave her some tip. If I visit Prague, I would gladly do a tour with them again. If I visit another city where Free Walking Tour offers a tour, I would do that.

We went on this tour our first morning in the city and it was a perfect way to get oriented. If you have already spent several days exploring, you may still learn a lot, but will be unlikely to see many new things. The basic free tour is centered around the main tourist sites and, although the guides may give you tips of additional places to go or places to grab food later, there isn't enough time to see too much stuff off the beaten path. As they will explain at the beginning of the tour, the guides make their money from tips so if you enjoy the tour, be fair and show your appreciation. However, it's nice to have the liberty to decide at any point before the end of the tour that it is not worth your time and money (I don't think that will be the case).

Our dinner was a buffet style dinner with several different choices to choose from. Once you arrive to the boat you get an arrival shot of their local liquor. It taste a lot like licorice, cinnamon, and a lot of other spices. You get to choose your table but be advised if you have a small party you could end up with a community table. Since we did our cruise in the winter it was a smaller crowd. We LOVED that aspect. You can go to the top deck to enjoy the views at any time. It was a cold night for our cruise but we throughly enjoyed every minute of cruise. The restrooms were very clean and there was always toilet paper and paper towels for all 3 hours. I highly recommend this if you do not believe you will be able to view ALL of what Prague has to offer. This cruise takes you further than you would think along the river.

Tour #1: with Tereza, a Prague native, for Old Town. It was crowded for a Tuesday so they split the group into two, but there were still probably close to 20 people in my group. The guides don't use speakers or headsets so even though I have pretty good hearing, I needed to stand close to be able to hear. The history was good, but I felt like it was a lot of walking, with no talking during the walking (makes sense with a large group), and then a lot of standing around in one spot with a bunch of information dumped. It felt like there could have been a better balance of walking a little, talking a little, and repeat. The history was very good, but a little dry. I did appreciate her bringing in modern politics and current day life. She also gave some great restaurant recommendations for the area where I was staying. Tour #2: with Ileana, who is from Mexico, for the Charles Bridge and outskirts of Prague Castle. There were many small annoying things about this tour that made it unpleasant, and overall I did not find it to be particularly informative. I would not recommend her as a tour guide. It was very hot and sunny, and Ileana kept stopping in the middle of sunny, hot squares with no shade. I asked her if we could stand in the shade and she said, "No, here is better." I almost left this tour multiple times because I thought it was so lackluster and underwhelming. One of the most disappointing / surprising things to me was that during our tour, there was a changing of the guards at the castle, and Ileana happened to take our group *away* from where it was happening to have a coffee/restroom break. When I mentioned to her the changing of the guard, she said, "It is not that big of a deal, it's just like every other changing of the guard." What a weird thing to say to tourists!

My husband and I along with our daughter and son in law wanted a private tour the Jewish Quarter as well as Terezin Concentration Camp. The first day, we were met by Svetlana, a warm and engaging guide who used her knowledge of history coupled with interesting stories to walk us through this fascinating area where Jewish people were once forced to live in this ghetto. The next day, we were met at our Hotel by Sylvie who drove us to Terezin Concentration Camp. We were immediately impressed by this lovely woman's vast knowledge of this tragic period in our People's history. Sylvie never stopped filling us with information about the history of Terezin and the different buildings, stories of prisoners and hours of facts that we never knew about. We cannot rave enough about the professionalism and knowledge of these sensitive and bright women who were the highlight of our trip.

Research on Tripadivsor showed that Wittman was the best group to go with. Terezin is very large and you really need IMHO a vehicle to get around. Barbara, our guide, imparted a lot of information about the founding of Terezin, WWII history, the creation of the camp, and her family history as it related to Terezin. We were also interested in seeing sites where the Verdi Requiem had been performed and she was very helpful in getting the information and asking the driver to take us by these places. I have seen documentaries about Terezin, but seeing it in person with a guide as skilled and knowledgeable as Barbara made it very memorable.

He explained the histories and the background stories of all the sites that we went to. & did a fantastic job. 2. The tour covered all the sites that they promised on the list. And was some small bonus when we passed by certain areas. 3. Price of the tour is very reasonable. And the bus was very comfortable. 4. The only downside I'd like to point out and this applies to any tours that you take not just this one. Since the tour company try to make their promise so everywhere we went not only you need to expect a lot of walking but also you do need to be on time which means the time to spend at each location is limited. 5. We didn't have too much time to grab something to eat in between sites. And we got back pretty late around 8 PM. so the hunger definitely hit by that time. If I would do this again, I will definitely pack my own food and water. We enjoyed our Overall experience with this tour company and do recommend by @winedinenvacay

The bus trip to Karlovy Vary (from Prague) was very pleasant. We were served lunch, and the food…read morewas good. But we waited forever for the lunch to arrive. We saw other people being waited on and leave before we got our lunch. We were concerned that we would not have enough time to see the Grandhotel Pupp (2.5 hours), so our bus group decided to go ahead and leave. Of course, that is when the dessert (ice cream was being served. The Grandhotel Pupp and the surrounding area were spectacular. When we arrived back in Prague, the host announced that we should get off the bus at a location close to the majority of the passengers. It was not anywhere near where we were picked up. A traffic jam, she said, so everyone was supposed to get off. My traveling companion told me that we should stay on the bus so they could drop us off where they picked us up. The host said that we were only 5 minutes from the street near our hotel. Both of us were not that familiar with the downtown area and many residents were not fluent in English. I ended up using my GPS on my cell phone to get back to our hotel. It was NOT 5 minutes. We got turned around a bit, but it took us nearly 25 minutes to get to our hotel. Everything else was great about our vacation, but this bus trip.

GRT provides an amazing day by day digital guide for you entire trip. These include walking directions for when you are out and about on your own. With GPS and Goggle maps one can plot these points on one's own but GRT does so much more: tips for great stopping points, activities, and food paced as you like and in the proper order to avoid backtracking and days when sites are closed. Martin listened to my concerns regarding my husbands mobility issues and arranged for a private car and driver for longer outings and day trips. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the recommended hotels. They were perfectly located for the activities we enjoy. September 2024 was our third trip with GRT, this time for three weeks in Spain. We had traveled to parts of Spain in the past so wanted assistance with a very customized itinerary. Martin and the rest of the team did a magnificent job making the trip and experience as hassle free and wonderful as possible. I realize that this high praise may make me sound like the marketing director of GRT but I assure you that I have not benefitted in any way for my review. Who can say that about a travel company?? Martin was our representative from the company for both trips and was accessible to answer my questions -- and make changes to our itineraries practically up to the last minute. He worked with me (and I don't think I'm the easiest person to work with!) and made great suggestions as to how to make both trips absolutely the best. My husband and I travel frequently and don't like "group" tours and this company allows you to travel on your own, but with ground transportation, hotels and guides booked in advance. As for the guides, I have never had such wonderfully informed guides and it was a pleasure to have private tours everywhere we went. Interestingly, in Croatia our drivers were just as informed as our guides, which made the trip even better. Now that the pandemic is over, we look forward to working with Martin and Go Real Europe soon!
