Pizza! Italia! Mamma mia! When the weather is rubbish and I start feeling homesick, nothing beats a…read moregood old fashioned Italian pizza. Thank God for Sole d'Oro, part of the Saracino pizza chain, authentic Neapolitan pizza with oomph! I ordered my usual, 4 seasons, which appeared as if by magic from the wood fired oven within minutes. Thin crispy bubbly base, generous tasty toppings plus fresh basil leaves just picked from the garden. Belly full, smile back on my face, who cares about the weather now? Italians Do It Better :)

This place has had about a dozen different owners in the last few years…read more... The new owners have done a great job as the food is tasty, filling and at very reasonable price... Unlike the staff at nearby Rimini the staff are polite and friendly..... Had great food here tonight, the veal and aubergines with cream and truffle olive oil was like a coronary sent from heaven. Will have to jog twice as hard to shift the inches the food has added to my belly My girlfriend had the seabass with tomatoes...which was perfectly balanced... not too sweet like tomato sauces can so easily be.... The fish perfectly cooked...but it would have been nicer if the skin was just that bit crispier The veg was great, luckily my girl was kind enough to take my beans and give me her broccoli. The bread which was homemade, was wonderfully nutty especially when I asked it to be toasted, and absorbed the flavours of the both dishes beautifully Looking forward to coming back.... The best Italian food I have had since I ate in Manhattan.. This place is a massive improvement from what used to be here before... hopefully this place is here to stay Thanks to Louis and his staff for having us....

The spaghetti bottarga (which I've had in Sardinia and was fantastic there) was the worst dish I've tried at Su Nuraghe. Bring some cash for the tip! When they took my card to pay and then it was time to enter the pin there was nowhere to add a tip to the charge.

That's probably why it's taken me this long to finally give Su Nuraghe a go... It was pretty quiet in the restaurant - possibly because of the England v Australia rugby game - which meant it was probably only around a quarter full. I'm not the first to review Su Nuraghe but here's where I disagree with Adam G... The menu. There's nothing particularly daring or unusual about the menu, which is along the lines of what you'd find at most provincial Italian restaurants outside of London. There's not much evidence of the Sardinian roots bar the odd dish, which I was really hoping for as someone who loves the regional specialities of Italian cuisine. It's just my personal opinion but I would have LOVED Su Nuraghe to have focused the menu on Sardinian specialities along with a handful of staple Italian dishes rather than it being the other way round. That's not to say I didn't have a good meal; I did! I went for the Gnochetti Sardi (small Sardinian pasta with Sardinian sausage and tomato sauce) to start as main size portion followed by veal in a cream and mushroom sauce. The latter wasn't even on the menu and was kindly made to order. It was all very nice. What I liked most about this place was the service. The staff had been totally accommodating from the moment we booked to the moment we left. They even obliged to cook my off-piste order. I loved the warmth of service, which made me feel as though they genuinely wanted us to be there and to return. I definitely will go back too. Tip: unlike most restaurants these days, service isn't automatically added to your bill so bare that in mind.
