Paws in the Bath - Extremely Disappointed and Will Never Return…read more I took my two dogs to Paws in the Bath and had one of the worst grooming experiences I've ever encountered. A week prior to their appointment, I personally dropped off their medical certifications and provided printed photos of exactly how I wanted each dog groomed. The staff member behind the counter with tattoos accepted everything. Because the groomer wasn't there that day, I made arrangements to take the afternoon off work on the day of the appointment just so I could meet with her directly. Shockingly, the groomer (Mina?) had no record of the paperwork or the photos I submitted. I had to go back to my car, get my phone, and show her the grooming style again. Despite this, she completely disregarded every instruction I gave. For my terrier, I specifically asked for a "tipped" look and made it clear that he should not be shaved. He was shaved down with uneven, poor scissor work that looked nothing like what I asked for. As for my second dog, I asked that her eyebrows, mane, and ears be left long -- she came back with her eyebrows gone and the hair around her mouth and ears hacked short. Both of my dogs looked awful and have not been themselves since. I still paid the full bill and even left a tip -- at the time, I hadn't realized just how bad the grooming was. After receiving a text message from the company, I replied and expressed my disappointment. I've received no follow-up or apology. I will never return to Paws in the Bath, and I strongly urge others not to take their pets here. The lack of care, communication, and accountability is unacceptable. Do not risk your pet's well-being.

Unfortunately, they were booked up all day (Saturday) but Ada told me she'd schedule me in some time during the week as well as try to call if someone cancels. I was completely fine with it and luckily 2 days later someone cancelled and I was able to get him bathed, trimed and nails cut in one shot. I was impressed he got along with all of the dogs there, and happy they didnt crate him - my dog rarely interacts with other dogs and it sort of made me nervous to bring him somewhere but, again, Impressed ! I am really happy they offer boarding, it's something I'll consider later on in the year. Will definitely go back to Paws and Affection

The last time I came in 2018, she came home with irritated private parts because they either used something harsh or they clipped too close to the skin. They offered to give her a plastic cone so she could heal, but it was still an unpleasant experience, so for the most of 2019 I took her to different groomers by my work in Markham. Before the holidays I was on vacation and forgot to book her in for a groom so I came here because I got a last minute appointment. I asked SPECIFICALLY to keep her face round (Asian style) with a pom pom tail. To my surprise, when I picked her up, her face was triangle shaped, head flat and uneven and tail raggedy. They've also raised their prices by quite a bit the past couple years. My cuts used to be about $80 and now they are well over $100 and this is for a small 6 lb. toy poodle. After I voiced my concerns, I got a call saying the person who did the groom was the OWNER of the business. She also hinted at the fact that some dogs are more difficult... hard to believe since my dog was specifically called a "sweetheart" the day I picked her up. Their remedy is that I bring her back to "touch it up". But she has little hair left to work with at the top. If you love your babies, you wouldn't take them here.There's plenty of other reputable groomers who give great cuts and charge less. I regret hastily making the decision to come back after the first incident, but lesson learned.

While there was a short period during lockdown that they were unable to open, as soon as we heard their daycare was open I was keen to send my pup over for some much needed playtime (socialization... he was tired of seeing just Mr. H and myself.. lol). Blu absolutely loves it! So much so that if we even walk in the direction of the store he thinks we are dropping him off for playtime. He drags me all the way and doesn't even bother to show some grief or anxiety (at-least fake it Blu). He is usually pretty tired out for the rest of the evening. Would definitely recommend their daycare. BONUS: They usually post on social media pictures from daycare and I love being able to see how his day went. On the downside, if they don't post his pic one day I miss it terribly.

They see us pulling upto " pretty beastie " mybdogs get to excited I have to calm the down before I can take them out of my van . Hercules is my oldest Yorkiepoo and he is the leader of my crew so as soon as I open the van door the run right to the front door hahaha. She has never been done on time, asking to wait a few more hours, and even then when I arrived just before closing, she was still working on the dog. The place looks shabby, and there is always too many dogs. I have a feeling that she is overbooked or takes in dogs without an appointment, thus causing an extreme delay. Last time, my dogs came back so dehydrated that they couldn't stop drinking for 2-3 minutes. This is not acceptable for the owner to keep dogs so long without offering them some water. I will never return there. No, thank you! Not even a cheap price ($50 for a small dog) will entice me to come back. I wish the groomer well though and to find time to transform the place into a more decent and inviting salon.

Every time we picked up our dog he seemed a bit more anxious than the time before, they suggested we give him more anxiety medication. The price of a groom is crazy, over $250 for a small 30lb dog. The turning point for us is that our dog was having an off day and was a bit more anxious than usual - never mean or aggressive, just squirmy. They called us after an hour to let us know, but told us they'd keep trying. Two hours later he was ready for pickup - I assumed that 3+ hours at the groomer meant they got through it. When I picked him up they told me they did not cut any of his hair, only a nail trim and bath. To my surprise, they proceeded to charge me the full amount of a groom - a $250 bath and nail trim. Very dissapointed given we were longstanding customers and they knew he was having an off day. We will certainly not be back. **UPDATE** We took our dog to another groomer who let us know that there are clear signs of trauma from previous grooming experience. He was clearly pushed past his comfort level at Dogfather to a point where he has developed a traumatic fear of being at the groomers. This explains why he was more and more anxious to go each time. This is deeply upsetting and I only wish we changed groomers sooner.
