A one year old, very shy, skittish dog who was not comfortable with other dogs was taken on a hike OFF LEASH. I have nothing against off leash hiking, but this woman had NO business having someone else's dog off-leash in an area unfamiliar to him, Especially when, in her own words, the dogs was "Special needs". The dog got spooked by something and bolted. He was wearing a harness with a short leash attached. In this heavily wooded area he could have easily gotten caught on a branch and would never have been found. He was missing for SEVEN days! This One Year Old Puppy had to fend for himself for Seven days! I could just vomit thinking about it.
