It would seem that this particular PP caters mostly to dogs, leaving not much for the cat owners in the area. There are waaay more dog food, treat, toy choices than there are cat stuff. This is unfortunate because I'm such a cat lover. They also seem to carry mostly food. There aren't a whole lot of toys, though there are some. Most, again, are for the pups, and seem to be treats as well as toys. They do have a lots of treats for the animals though, which is nice. This Pet Planet is also a groomers, which is great. It means that you can have your pet prettied up while you buy new food, litter, toys or treats. The staff are just as nice here as anywhere else, and don't hesitate to answer questions or offer a hand. A mediocre Pet Planet in my opinion, but I'm a cat lover so that's why I don't dig the abundance of doggie stuff!

Given my own feeble attempts to shave him, I assumed Pet Planet might fail too. Thankfully, the groomer was able to clip his nails in less than 30 seconds, then efficiently proceeded to execute a lion cut. No fuss, no muss. No scratching or biting like he does with me. After the clippers, she deftly and impressively trimmed the legs with scissors in no time flat. I was in and out in just over half an hour! Dog service is usually slower though, I'll warn you. People usually bring in their pooch at 9am and dogs stay in cages between cutting, shampooing, drying, etc. until the late afternoon. They were are pretty quiet though, bemused by my shorn cat. The cat was relieved to be rid of the fur and so was I...$50 well spent!

We've been VERY pleased with the results. It sometimes varies as groomers there change, but we've never been dissatisfied, and if there's anything we don't like about it they're always happy to have us bring her back to fix it up. It helps that our dog is very good and calm when being groomed, making their job a lot easier. We also find that Jill often has very helpful and sound advice when it comes to dealing with issues you might have with your dog. She's got a lot of experience with dogs, having owned them for years, and is very practical when it comes to training advice.

Not only did the receptionist speak down to me in a really condescending way but she called a few hours later after I had already rebooked my next appointment and said we were no longer welcome back as a client. I asked to speak to the owner because I am honestly shocked, I was super polite during our conversation and as a person who gets my dog groomed every 6 weeks consistently wanted to ask some simple questions and make sure we were on the same page. It took a number of phone calls and me actually going into the shop to speak to the owner. They have definitely lost us as a customer but wanted to forewarn others.

I will not be taking my pet back to Canine Country…read more I did not know that there was a change in ownership with drastic new rules. The dogs are not allowed to play -- they are penned in all day. The atmosphere was icy when I walked in, then I wondered why my little buddy whined and refused to go in the door; they ended up shaving him. He was shaking when I picked him up. Terrible service. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!…read more My dog is a well socialized dog. He has been to many resorts. I thought I'd try this one today as it is so close and convenient to our home and at noon I had a gut feeling to call. I'm glad I did. I was told the day before the dogs would not be kennelized. We showed up the lady at the desk did not greet my dog. She was very shady and asked what his name was then took him back with out saying hi to him. She said to me have a good day. I saw her walk back still without saying anything to my dog. When I called I was told that my dog was in a kennel as he was bleeding as a result of being in a fight. This dumbfounded me as he has never been in a fight before and was very well socialized. I was then told they would be keeping him in the kennel for the remainder of the day. I adv them that was unacceptable as if I wanted my dog in a kennel all day I would have just left him at home where he had complete freedom of the house. I left work immediately to pick him up. When I got there my dog was shaky panicky and totally not himself. He was pulling the lady that brought him out to me like his life depended on it to get out. He had a big bloody gash over his eye, and was not himself. He is the calmest, happy go lucky dog I have ever known. I then asked the to talk to the owner. He was the rudest person I have ever met. he does not care about the dogs. They advertise that they work with aggressive dogs. I then asked him what he does after flights. His answer was far then less appealing. They do not interact with the dogs or play with them. Just throw them in pens to fend for themselves. I then asked why they did not take the time to clean up his cut. He stated that was not part of his job description. I then stated that I paid for my dog to be in a kennel. He stated that no this was not the case that he was only in the kennel from 630am-930 then 1100 to when i picked him up!!!!! That is terrible! He would have been happier with full access at home! What did I pay for? I am a professional certified dog trainer. I have worked with assistance dogs, search and rescue, and our beloved pets. Never have I come across such a horrible place for our animals. Please save your dog from a horrible day and go elsewhere! They have horrible energy and no experience or training. I even asked! The old owners had experience with agressive dogs and proper training. The people here ignore the dogs. There are several wonderful places that have people that are passionate about dogs in their care. This is definitely not one of them!

The process of adoption was pretty straight forward with an application and then a phone interview. My phone interview did not contain any information about my prospective kitten's medical history, so I asked for a copy, they informed me that this would be provided after the adoption and there were no preexisting conditions. After hearing this I decided to go ahead with the adoption. Intially the process was very smooth and I was provided with lots of assistance and resources. As soon as I adopted my cat, Max I noticed that he had a deciduous tooth and it was persistent within the gums and appeared black in colour. I waited for the medical records to come in to see if this was pre-existing. When I was finally sent the medical records it was after the 72 hour period where I could be financially assisted with treatment. It was at this point that I noticed that the deciduous tooth was pre-existing and pawsitive match was aware of it. I decided to email them and provide feedback about how I was disappointed that I was not informed of the tooth and it's colour, as it was already that colour prior to my adoption of him. I was just looking for an apology or an acknowledgement that they should have disclosed the condition prior to my adoption, however I did not get this. Instead after a couple days I recieved multiple emails from different people at the foundation telling me that it woudl be impractical for them to remove all deciduous teeth from kittens and that the medical records were indeed reviewed with me (they were not) the only option they gave me was to return the cat. I was not interested in returning my kitten I just wanted to maybe meet with the vet to discuss the tooth and instead they lectured me on how there was nothing they could do... I think it is extremely important to rescue animals and am not discouraging you from doing so, however my roomate's experience with the Meow Foundation was much more transparent and helpful.
