My Second Dog Trainer should have been my First choice…read more My German Shorthair Pointer had issues with the last trainer: too much time penned up in the kennel and not enough 1:1 time training, causing him to stop eating, losing pounds and core training, the dog not wanting to participate in training. Every 1 to 2 weeks the trainer would tell us to come pick up our dog. We had given up thinking he could be kenneled and been ready for a ton of 1:1 sessions. Eric listened, assured me the socialization his dogs have during the off hours would settle him into the pack nicely. Originally opting for a short term expecting the worst, Eric has turned that dog around and is now staying for a month. Tail wagging, attentive, and having fun. The non stop videos and pictures has proved Fowland's methods work. He's now at a solid point, holding and honoring, great obedience and recall. 10x the dog he was before. Fowland focused on my dogs strengths and weaknesses, focused on specific milestones to get him where he needed, and tailor made the training into the Bird Dog I need, not some general punch list. With so many more sessions per week (field and bench) than what I saw from my previous trainer, I truly wish I found these guys on my first search when finding a trainer for my puppy. Trust your gut, you know a good trainer when you meet one.
