They were "this your dog? Ok, see you when you get back". Nice folks but a completely unprofessional operation with cut rate facility's for the dogs. Standard wire pens attached to caged runs. No play areas and I suspect minimal contact with the dogs. How it rated 4 star is beyond me. Sweet Dreams was first class. Well, well done.

The vet one at $350 to pay each one of them in an outrageous price for shots as well when I heard of Allegheny spay and neuter clinic with travel to center hall once a week. I took them there and it was very cheap for the spay and for their shots and Free trimming of the clause, etc. I was so thankful that they came to center County once a week to help people with dogs and cats that needed to be spayed and neuter, but did not charge an arm and a leg. They have several locations. You have to get a voucher online and take it with you but all those directions are online.

One night this week as we were going through our daily grooming ritual, I felt a lump on my cockapoo that was roughly the size of a walnut. This was in an area where I clean daily and it hadn't been there the night before so I was worried. I called Halfmoon Valley Animal Hospital early the following morning and asked for an emergency appointment for the next day. I didn't even ask for a same day appointment knowing how busy they always are so I was surprised when they offered me an appointment for the same afternoon which I gratefully accepted. They diagnosed an issue their groomer had missed (on both of them), rectified it and crises over. I felt like I received an incredible gift with my dogs being patients of this practice. No matter the issue, regular checkup, medications, or emergency visits the vets, assistants and office staff show professionalism, compassion and patience with each issue. They treat my dogs with genuine kindness and gentleness and the more I depend on my dogs as my service animals the more I tend to forget that they aren't human. Fortunately, they strike a perfect balance and I'm grateful for their services. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has pets that may be more like family as after several years patronage they have never let me down. Thank you

I'm so thankful to have found Stone Valley Pet Lodge!…read more We were in need of a place to board our 6-month-old puppy over the Thanksgiving holiday last year, so we decided to check out Stone Valley. I had looked at a few other places in and around the State College area, and ended up choosing Stone Valley for several reasons. I called and set up a time to check the place out before we decided to board there. The lodge seems pretty new and when we entered the lobby area, I noticed it was clean and well-kept (note: there are many cats on the property; just an FYI!). When we walked through the area where the dogs are kept, I noticed the runs were a decent size, which I liked. There are windows in that area so it is well-lit and spacious. The outdoor areas were also a nice size for the dogs to run around freely and play with other dogs, if you choose. I was looking to help socialize my pup with other dogs, so they paired her up with other puppies her size during outside time. The owner is very thoughtful in making sure to pair up your dog with other dogs that are compatible and well-behaved! The lodge is in a beautiful wooded area about 15-20 minutes from State College. They also board a variety of animals - horses, pigs, cats! The owner is very responsive and thorough in making sure you know what to bring with you. I was really nervous (and sad) about leaving my dog for the first time, but she was great with responding to my calls/emails checking in to see how my dog was doing every few days. They will also give medicine if needed. Our dog has been back 2 additional times since Thanksgiving and she has always done well with transitioning to and from the lodge. She seems to enjoy her time there and has gotten a chance to be around other dogs and animals. The staff and owner are all really nice and you can tell that they really love animals and do a great job caring for them while they are in their care.

I have taken my dogs to Big Valley for over 17 years. I never had a problem before. However, they…read morehave a new doctor. After two days of tests performed on our 4 year old golden (during which time we were told the doctor had seen sicker dogs), we were sent home with seven medications and no real information. The vet talked to us over the phone, but did not meet us face to face when we picked up our dog. The vet tech he sent out to speak with us had spent no time with our dog and couldn't answer any questions. We were led to believe his condition was treatable. After two horrible days of forcing meds and watching my dog suffer, he passed away. We were given false hope and deprived of the chance to give our dog a proper goodbye. Since this, we have done some research, and our dog was never going to recover from his illness. If we knew this, why didn't this vet? We will never go back When the vet called for a follow up, after I told him our dog died, he repeated that our dog hadn't been that sick. When is a dog very sick if not two days before he passes away? Unbelievable.

If I could recommend them to everyone, I would. They are always putting the animal first. They explain everything to you, so you know exactly why they are ordering certain tests for your pet. I love it there.
