She's very knowledgeable, detail oriented and wonderful with every dog. Every employee has been helpful and friendly once we have entered the store. Went in to purchase a cat condo; every employee who saw me struggling w/ getting thru an aisle w/ this large item in my cart quickly turned the other way, (God forbid anyone offer a hand). I asked one to please move an item blocking my path, you'd have thought I asked for a million dollars. Since it was so much trouble for these people, I walked out w/o the purchase. I placed an order online paid 14.95 for expedited shipping it will be a total of 9 days to receive the order. When contacting petco at store, online it is pass the buck. The food is an RX food for my fur baby and is needed on a regular basis this is a necessity . It is not like it was a toy or something fun. I paid a total of 50.00 with food and shipping. Due to their lack of speed or caring; i had to purchase this food at a different store. When contacting Petco SUDDENLY when wanting to cancel they have shipped it. Paid for 2 day shipping and will not receive it for 5 days of shipping. NEVER WILL USE OR BUY FROM STORE OR ONLINE AGAIN. This place is where all the pets go. Seriously there was an adoption event when I went and the place was full of puppies. I'm not complaining (though my cat was, but she can write that on her own Yelp review). The employees at this Petco really care about animals and helping out customers. Grooming center workers are really nice, but definitely not trained, skilled, or experienced enough. They couldn't handle my jack Russell chihuahua mix. He isn't super pumped about getting nail trims, but he's 7 years old and has regularly gotten his nails trimmed once a month and I've never had an issue. They told me they couldn't do it and I had to find somewhere else that had straps and a muzzle. How sad and inhumane!!!! read more

I took my dogs here because the last groomer I had abused my dogs. Their haircuts were decent but not like what I was planning on. I have a carin terrier corgi who weighs about 25 pounds and he absolutely hates his hands being touched. I told the groomers that when I signed him up. They then proceeded with the groom and I got a call for one of the groomers saying he was biting and it was unacceptable and they had to stop his haircut. I understand if he's biting to take a break but I warned them about his hands. I absolutely don't want to put anyone at risk but it seemed a little unfair for the price I was paying. I also have a teacup cockapoo who's hair is very curly. I told the groomers I wanted to keep his hair a longer on the face and the tail but pretty short on the body instead they completely ignored my wished and shaved his entire body. The groomers were nice enough but I feel like they talked to me like I was stupid. They talked very slow in a tone like "are you understanding". For the price of $150 I payed for 2 dogs and didn't get what I asked I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

Horrible experience from a customer service associate named Darrell. We just moved into the neighborhood. We have a highly anxious dog that barks. Due to our neighbors also having dogs, he won't stop. In the past we've bought bark collars and he will learn very quickly not to bark. We have moved 7 times in 10 years and didn't bring the bark collar from storage. Darrell, the worker, tried to shame me about wanting to "shock" my dog and lectured me about my dog. He actually tried to tell me what my dog was doing and why and was being presumptuous about my 10 year old dog. As if he were an expert on my dog. I walked out. I was also there to buy a doggie door but due to horrible customer service by Darrell, I will never be back to this location. Dog owner my whole life and I was a customer of Petco for years. We had such a great experience with our trip today! We dropped off our boxer at the groomer and she was so nice and friendly and gave a very clear run down of what was to be expected with our bath for our dog!! Then some of the coworkers let me daughter pet a few animals that we won't ever get to have as actual pets and it made her day!! Alright so we've given this place the benefit of the doubt the one to many times, first time went we were impressed with how clean the tanks appeared to be and the wide variety they had, but after we've gotten multiple fish from there and a dwarf frog that died the next morning after we purchased it, enough is enough. I don't like people who leave Yelp reviews and I never thought I'd ever need to make one but wow, after seeing our money go to waste and our fish die we payed more attention to their "Clean Tanks" and realized they almost always have fish under quarantine and they ALWAYS have multiple dead fish in their tanks, I wish I took pictures today because this is the LAST TIME we will ever shop here for anything period. Petco needs to stop selling fish and focus on Cats and Dogs because thats all they actually know. If you're in the area and are looking for a good place to buy fish I'd highly recommend The Fish Den located off 44th Ave near Lakeside, we've never had problems, they're a local business so its nice to support them during the pandemic especially considering how well their tanks are kept and almost all the fish are kept in tanks with live plants and natural decor and they have way better deals when buying multiple fish. read more

Do not buy Salt Water Fish here!!! Ashley seemed to know what she was talking about, but definitely sold me a porcupine puffer she knew was sick. Poor little guy didn't survive 24 hours. He was covered in ick the morning after we bought him. We also bought a potters angel during the same visit and he lives about 6 hours longer than the puffer. DO NOT BUY SALT WATER FISH HERE!!!!!! We should've known better, there were dead starfish in the tanks. I asked her about them but she didn't take them out.. simply said they didn't make it Bc they crawled out of the tank and she put them back in. read more

I've been a marine aquarist on and off for over 30 years and this Petco is my goto store for livestock. They have a good selection and are normally way cheaper than the specialty stores. in reference to another review on here, almost all marine fish carry disease if the conditions stress the fish then their natural immunity weakens and allows the disease to take over and kill the fish. Fish tanks have ich in them, when the parameters aren't right the fish become more susceptible to disease, and by the way a Trigger fish is not a reef ( coral ) compatible fish. The thing I like the most about this store is Greg in the aquatics department. Petco,is lucky to have an employee that seems to enjoy his work so much. Everyone I have encountered has been polite and helpful but Greg is obviously very much into the hobby himself and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It's nice to find this kind of personal service at what you might consider a big box store. read more

My pets and I love this store! The employees are all knowledgeable and friendly, with treats ready for my babies! I can tell that the people there genuinely care about customers' pets as well as the animals they have for sale. The dog trainers are the best around and know everything there is to know about dogs and how to fix behavior issues in a way that is beneficial to both pet and owner. I have shopped at Petco for years, so I was glad when we moved here to have one just a couple miles from home. To be perfectly clear, I can get all of my dogs' food, treats, supplies, and toys at cheaper prices and delivered to my door for free from Amazon, but I enjoy taking my pups here to let them "shop" with me because it is always a welcoming and enjoyable experience to be around other pet lovers. On my most recent trip, however, an employee completely changed my mind about coming here again. I had one of my dogs with me, and he and another woman's dog were sniffing/greeting each other as we passed one another in the aisle-- part of the experience I'm used to-- when a woman working there ordered us in the rudest tone to "keep the dogs separated." I looked up and she was just glaring at us as if we had been hosting a dog fight in the middle of the store, when they were literally just sniffing each other as we shopped. I've never felt so unwelcome with my pup ANYWHERE, much less at a place that claims to welcome leashed pets (which both dogs were). Seriously, at least ask nicely instead of treating customers like some sort of nuisance... I don't know what the other woman chose to do, but I put my would-be purchases back on the shelf and left immediately. I'll be saving my money and my pride by shopping Amazon from now on. They have excellent customer service. read more

Took my dog to be groomed there. Was quoted $47 on the phone when I made the appointment. When I came to pick the dog up, my dog looks terrible!!! And on top of that they tried to charge me $68!!! We won't be coming back!!!! read more

Regarding current iguanas at this location- Just wanted to share so others are aware, my partner and I went in today to get cat liter, but we always stop and look at the iguanas, being owners of one currently and a few before ourselves. One of the blue iguanas appeared to have grey/black markings on inner left leg, which I'm sure most who have owned iguanas know this is a sign for mites- which pretty much kills the animal, because it sucks them dry of there blood. So I sat and looked closer because mites as you know or may not know they are tiny, and sure enough there were mites crawling all over the poor little guy. This is not treatable and unfortunately the other iguanas in the tank with him are more than likely infected because they spread quickly. Once a tank or iguana is infected everything in the tank is infected as well. So if your looking to purchase one of there iguanas I'd think twice. My partner and I have lost 2 iguanas to mites and it is a sad thing to see. Hopefully this gets resolved and the tanks will be replaced, the iguanas unfortunately won't live long, mites are deadly. read more
