Always dark, they have very few overhead lights on, the store looks like it's closed... Lots of empty shelves, no one greets you or asks if they can help you find anything. Poor customer service. read more

Went there today looking for fish to add to my tank. The fish tanks are dirty and looked like they haven't been cleaned in some time. A lady was helping another customer in the fish area and I found the fish I was looking for and was waiting for her to finish up with the customer but after she finished helping she disappeared. So I looked around the fish area and saw a guy pushing a cart into the fish area and he looked at me and before I could say anything he turned and high tailed it out. At this point I decided to inspect the fish I wanted and noticed a dead fish in the one tank so this got me paying more attention to the other tanks and noticed there was about 5 dead fish across the different tanks. So I put back the tank decor I was going to buy and walked out. As I walked out both employees were standing at the registers with no customers around talking. Not going back until the owner cracks down and actually starts caring about their store. read more

My son owned a fabulous healthy goldfish that flourished and was thriving! Well it was my (mother) bright idea to get my sons healthy fish a play mate! Go to petco in GreatFalls Montana on market drive to look for another goldfish! Red flag number one: there was a bag of dead fish! Me not thinking, bought one of the live fish and transported it home and put it in my sons fish tank! Two weeks later the fish was dead! Two weeks after that my sons healthy goldfish died! I should have never brought that fish home to my healthy fish - I feel so bad ! read more

Used to be good. Recent customer service is terrible. Since I can't schedule a nail trim online, I left 3 voicemails without ANY calls back. I understand they are short staffed, but that's NO excuse for a return call. *Newsflash* There are other places in town to go. I walked in to a busy shop and paid half of what Petco charges. I will not be back. Without customer service, you have no customers and no paycheck. read more

It's often hard to leave reviews for Big Box Stores, because really, it's Petco. You know what to expect! I will say that this store in particular has some wonderful people working here. Whether they chat with you as you are browsing through the store, or when you make it to the cash register, they are always happy to see you and help you find what you need. A PetSmart just opened not too long ago in this town, and I know some things have changed at Petco since with trying to stay competitive price wise and retain customers. We live 2.5 miles away from PetSmart, and 5 miles away from Petco, but we will continue going to Petco based on the employees that they have there. They make the difference! read more

This store is great! It's big, clean, has helpful staff, and it carries pretty much everything you will need or want for your pets. I was here recently and bought a cozy little pet bed for my cat. It was on sale. When they have sales, prices are really good. On a previous visit, they had one of the local shelters on site with cats up for adoption. This store has a great variety of fish. I always like to wander around the fish section just checking them out, seeing what's new and cool. They've got lots here and all the stuff to keep your fishies fresh. I usually buy some cat treats and food that we don't get up in Canada. Petco has a really wide selection of both cat and dog food here. The dog section is vast. I bought my doggy friends some cool bones and rawhides here which they loved. The prices are better than here at home. The dog toy selection is also fantastic. The store is always clean and bright and the staff are helpful. It's a top notch pet store. read more

This is the best pet store in Great Falls. The dog training is excellent and the prices are the lowest for nearly everything. They will not only price-match other local stores specials, they AUTOMATICALLY OFFER it!! The staff is all very friendly and quick to help when needed. read more

Took us a while to find someone to help us and when we did it was pretty clear the employee would rather be doing anything but. Really had to resist the urge to tell her to just leave. About 2/3 of the fish were not available for purchase. And by the time this employee got done scolding us about our fish ignorance I just said to hell with it and didn't bother getting any. Walked in like I always do to get some things for my fur child and came across Dori with some questions about behavioral issues that are minor but that we can't just seem to break and she was wonderful she showed me a few demonstrations on what to do at home you know when my pet isn't on it's best behavior and she was very knowledgeable and I appreciated her taking her time and giving lots of detailed explanation and suggestions. Definatley always recommend coming here staff are always eager to help and very friendly. read more

Good service, the groomers did well with my dogs nail trimmings. I didn't have any issues here. They seem to have sales pretty often. Coming from California certain animals are illegal but they sell ferrets here! I want one! The service is usually good! I just wish they sold puppies. read more

Groomers review: took my dog here finally after 3 butcher jobs from April's Plush Puppies. They doted on our sweet dog and gave him extra love even after his grooming (while he was waiting for me to pick him up). The cut was perfect, and the dog was happy. They told me they would love to have my dog back and enjoyed him. They cost a little more than some locals, but now I understand why! The experience is SO much better! read more

I was a walk-in asking to have my 2 puppies' hair trimmed. There were three young women sitting around talking with no pets in sight. I thought that was great because it would mean I could get my 2 dogs in and out. But they did say it would take 2 hours. My 4 month old pups had never had anyone but a vet see them, so I wanted to see how the process worked and I said I would stay. From the beginning, I felt an attitude from the staff that they were uncomfortable and defensive about me hanging around. They took both dogs in a back room. I could hear the boy dog crying, which is not so terrible, but it went on and on. I asked what was being done and they said they were just in crates waiting to be bathed. When I asked that he brought out to me while he was waiting, they rolled their eyes and brought him out. Shortly after, they took him to be bathed and he cried a lot again and then it really ramped up. The lead person commented that he really didn't like the hair dryer so they put him in a dryer crate. At that point he cried for another 10 minutes and then was just getting hysterical. They kept telling me that it takes 2 hours. I was saying fine, but can't the dog wait with me? They were all annoyed and said that I didn't have to get this work done. I finally said that I would skip it for my male dog and they brought him out. The little female was also scared but not howling. By the time they brought her out to be groomed, the boy puppy had calmed down and was dry. I said that if they still wanted to groom him, I'd like that, but that it was their choice. The lady who would have groomed acted very annoyed and said that she couldn't have me "distracting him" and she would do it if she had time. I left to shop in the Petco for 10 minutes and in the meantime the groomer left. The lead groomer and that lady made me feel from the moment I walked in that I was overstepping and had a crappy attitude. I truly was nothing but pleasant to them. read more
